This was our first trip to the Victor Cafe! The food and music were great! We would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone coming to Philadelphia!
If you like opera and good food, this place is for you! I always get the huge pork chop prepared with apples and onions. It is absolutely delicious. My husband gets different dishes each time and is never disappointed. The singing servers are all very talented as well as pleasant and efficient. We love hearing the beautiful arias that punctuate our meal.
Thank you guys so much for making a great night for my girlfriend and I. I look forward to taking her there again for a romantic evening. Tyler (I believe his name was) was a great waiter and he sang so well that night!
Always a great place to go for wonderful entertainment, service and very good food.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cafe Victor. The food, service and the wonderful singers were exceptional. We will definitely make a return visit.
Excellent! Such a great place, and I highly recommend to many!
A treat for sure! The wait staff are all opera students, and every 10 minutes or so, a wait staff member will ring a bell, and sing an Aria from a major opera. It's such fun. The food is classic Italian, and more than delicious. Definitely a must if you're traveling to Philadelphia.
Excellent!!! Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Very talented opera singers We loved it!
Was the perfect place to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday! He and I both loved it. We will definitely be going back!
Great food and great music!
There was three of us that have not been able to go out together for over 2 years. We had a wonderful time at the Victor Café. The waiters and waitress were amazing opera singers. I had been here about 3 months ago but my other two friends have never been. They both said they were coming back again soon. The food was delicious.
Our food was all served lukewarm. My chicken tosca was dry but we were starving so I ate it. Server forgot my spinach. Served to me as I was already finished my meal. I’m not sure I’d give the chefs & serving staff a rate of not their best day. My daughter enjoyed the chocolate cake, she said it was very delicious.
We had a wonderful experience at The Victor Cafe! The food was delicious, great service and the singers were fantastic! I would recommend The Victor Cafe to anyone who would like a very special experience!
This is absolutely one of my favorite places to dine in Philly. On the surface, it has all the ingredients of being a kitschy South Philly tourist experience, and yet, they combine into a magical one instead that is very genuine and very local. It's dinner and a show, with exceptionally good Italian food, and some of the finest operatic voices in town, doubling as your servers. Vintage ambience makes you feel like you're in someone's home (who collects LOTs of antique opera photos and memorabilia), and upstairs a Victorian feel lounge with separate sitting areas-- great for a private party, or while you wait to be seated. You don't have to love opera to enjoy this, so long as you can appreciate the authenticity of the talent, food and experience- they are the real deal. I don't miss any opportunity to come back-- one visit, and you won't either!
Service for meals downstairs was good and enjoyed musical solos. However, both bartenders serving drinks were rude and not welcoming leaving plastic wrapper in drink ordered.
This was our second visit and it was better than even the first time! The food was fantastic and the one of the kind entertainment is like no other around!
Awesome dining experience.
Good food, great atmosphere, and unbelievably talented singing waitstaff. The Rocky memorabilia was great to see, too. The service was slow at times because the wait staff is pulling double duty to perform. It was nearly a perfect experience - and could be perfect with a little extra help for the staff.
So much fun! Very kind staff, wonderful food, and of course, great music! A really refreshing change from all of the hipster bar/ restaurants that seem to be dominating the country.
I’m bringing my family back today. Just one suggestion. We caught ourselves in deep conversations, then had to stop every 20 minutes for the live opera singers. They were aaaaaamazing! Maybe every 30 minutes will be better. Again, just a suggestion.
This was an amazing place to gather with friends, listen to live music RIGHT in front of you, all while eating delicious food
Great historic unique dining experience...oh - the food is great as well! 😄
I enjoyed my dinner at the Victor Cafe, the atmosphere was great, the foos, and the staff.
I’d visit it again for sure,
This was our second visit to the Victor Cafe and it was just as good as our first visit. There is a very comfortable, large bar area upstairs with several different rooms in which to sit and chat. The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were very good. The waiters and waitresses all have wonderful voices and when they sing Happy Birthday, even that becomes a beautiful experience! Looking forward to our next visit.
Great place! Food was magnificent! The service was attentive and friendly.
Amazing food, with friendly and helpful service. Really talented Singing wait staff. Great experience overall.
Loved it! Personable & friendly waitstaff. And super talented.
This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants anywhere! The service is spot-on, the food is fantastic and the opera singing is out of this world! I have been there at least a half-dozen times now (I don't live in the area) and make it a point to visit whenever I am in Philadelphia. I also tell everyone I know about it and several people have become loyal customers now. When my wife and I were in town yesterday we went and had the pleasure of having Toffer as our waiter. I asked him if anyone ever performed Vesti la giubba from Leoncavallo's opera Pagliacci. The aria is often regarded as one of the best and most beautiful arias of all time and I am sure not an easy one to perform. Toffer smiled and said, "sometimes". What we did not know is that he was planning on singing it for us that evening. When he did, it was simply fantastic. All the singers were just wonderful. If you ever want a special treat, head to The Victor Cafe! You will never be disappointed!
We have been going to the Victor Café over the years for birthdays, anniversaries and just a good time and never been disappointed. As opera fans, the staff arias are absolutely the finest. Victor café deserves a 5-Star rating.
Woody & Rosie
Amazing how great the food is as people go there for the music. Love this place
We loved the singing! Our food was fantastic and the wait staff were quick and pleasant. The Tosca had moist chicken and the veal was fantastic.
What a fun, unique, and delicious experience. Dinner and entertainment is always a good time, but Victor Cafe mixes that in a lovely balance--enjoy yourself but with musical interludes. Loved it. And the food was so good too.
The Lamb Chop was outstanding my boyfriend when right to the bone, he says the Best Lamb chop he has ever eaten.
I had the Steak and I like it well done it was and still very tender.
Really Just The Best In the City
Fantastic food, and such a unique ambiance! We really enjoyed everything. The Ravioli was superb.
You don't come to Victor Cafe for the food, you come for the opera singing. Every 20 minutes or so, one of the waiters shares briefly about the piece they're about to sing, and then you enjoy an aria. The restaurant has been around for over decades and feels like a throwback to an earlier time. Definitely recommend for something unusual and a great place to have Happy Birthday sung to you!
We never tried the steak or pork chop, but everything else is excellent.
Great place, great food, excellent service, amazing opera performance. We enjoyed our dinner. My only complain is that they doesn't allow you to take photographs or videos. It was my 13 years old son birthday and I wanted to capture the moment.
Our table was terrible
The rest was good
I do believe it was table 35
The bells , the people going back and forth with the floor moving my chair every time
Not the best evening unfortunately
Servers are very sweet
This extraordinary dining experience is not your run-of-the-mill nice restaurant. When you add up the delicious food, the spot-on service, and the excellent entertainment from the staff, you end up with something that should be on your to-do list.
We had a lovely experience and meal at the Victor Cafe. The drinks in the upstairs lounge were delightful and the red wine with our meal was perfect. The food was very well presented and tasted wonderful. Heather was our server and did a fabulous job. She has an incredible voice and was very attentive! Thank you.
