My Aunt was in town and I wanted to take her someplace that we could see the beach but that wasn’t insanely expensive. This place is a boutique hotel that is stunning with a wonderful enclosed patio to dine in and that you can see the beach from. It’s not ON the beach but the view is beautiful nonetheless. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, I had pancakes which weren’t great but I also modified them so it could have been a bit my fault that they weren’t as enjoyable as everyone else’s meals. I all this is a reasonably priced beautiful place to have a lovely brunch that wasn’t overcrowded. Oh and they have two hour free valet parking !

The staff was kind but there were too few of them. No attendant at valet, no host to greet and seat hurrays, tables not set for dinners, missing spoons, water refill non existent. All that said, quality of food was very good, but seemed priced for a premium on location across from ocean.

The food of two at our table was an hour late. Three tacos and one shrimp salad. We asked the waiter again and again and he said it was coming. The manager was too busy to comment. View was beautiful at sunset, but service was poor.

This was a perfect little front porch/veranda to sit on and have a nice lunch, while looking out upon the ocean and catching up with good friends. It was not crowded and so we did not hear other conversations from those around us. Free 2 hour valet parking, or 4 hours for $10 was also awesome because parking in that area is impossible. I'll be going back. Soon.

Go for the outstanding oceanfront view and wide availability of reservations... but don't necessarily go for the food. Remember: this is a hotel, and not a particularly inventive one. But did I mention the view?

I specifically made reservations at The Veranda Restaurant because of their High Tea and it was EVERYTHING and more. Bar manager Jeff called me to double check my reservation and food allergies (which was a thoughtful and amazing touch). I was given the option of where I wanted to sit, every part of this tea service felt PERSONAL to me. I had the Promenade tea service and the presentation was BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS. I will absolutely visit again. The pictures didn’t do the food or the service justice. If you are looking for great value and impeccable service, visit Jeff and his team at The Veranda.

A friend and I met for lunch at Veranda. We wanted a quiet, leisurely lunch to catch up on each others lives. We also wanted nice ambiance and a well rounded, not too trendy menu.
Veranda was a perfect choice. The view of the ocean directly across the street was lovely, and the glass enclosed patio seating kept the chill and traffic noice at bay. It was quiet and very relaxing. I had a delicious make your own omelette, and my friend had the Eggs Benedict, ranchero style. Both were delicious. It was a great choice. Good menu, great service, beautiful view, and quiet. I couldn’t ask for more.

The valet service was terrible - 3 cars waiting for 10 minutes & we had to go find the valet guy inside. Our waitress was the same... the restaurant wasn't even busy & the service was incredibly slow. We would never eat here again unless they changed their service standards.

It was my first time trying this place and thought it would be a great place to celebrate my husband’s bday. We got there and place was pretty empty except for one table, given it was a Monday night and the holidays I guess. There was one server and a bartender. We ordered the charcuterie plate which they served 3 pieces of goat cheese. I’ve had charcuterie plates in other places and usually they serve different types of cheeses. I asked the server if they had any other cheese which he brought mozzarella balls that took about more than 5 minutes to bring to the table. It was just served on a separate plate, no olive oil or pepper with it. My husband had to ask the server to pretty much .. serve coz it seems like he didn’t know that salt and pepper should be on the table or to offer olive oil. Then the night ended with the server disappearing and we had to ask the bartender for our check. I wrote specifically that it was a bday celebration and if a dessert could be brought out, but no server after our plate was brought and just poor customer service overall. I get that it’s the holidays, but at least try to not let your customers feel like you’re just waiting for your shift to end . Extremely disappointing experience.

We had high tea at the Veranda restaurant and it was fantastic. The service, food and ambiance were superlative. We had the most wonderful time. It is a beautifully decorated hotel/restaurant and the service was warm, attentive and perfect. We will be making the Veranda our favorite restaurant and dine there frequently.

We loved our first visit to The Veranda Restaurant! We went for high tea around 4:30 pm and it was a nice and quiet atmosphere with calm and cozy lighting and decor. The service was excellent from start to finish: we first received a call that morning to confirm our reservation and ask about any dietary restrictions and/or seating preferences which was much appreciated. We ended with a window seat and a lovely view of the ocean at sunset. The food was impeccable, well presented and delicious with a nice wide variety of flavors. We certainly can't wait to go back!

This is THE restaurant of The Georgian hotel.

Came here for Happy Hour food deals, which is from 4-6pm.

You may sit on their covered patio or interior area (lobby). We sat inside this time, as I love looking at their heritage building’s design.

Ordered to share: guacamole/salsa & chips, calamari, parmesan fries, market salad & shishito peppers! Nice size for Happy Hour prices.

All well cooked and flavourful. Excellent staff service (as always!).

Depending on weather and holiday times, could be quiet or ultra busy.

We and another couple celebrated our anniversaries by having afternoon tea. The Veranda is a quiet space protected from the weather by a transparent screen with a nice view of the ocean. Service was impeccable. Tea options were with or without champagne or cocktails. We chose the non-alcoholic option. First course was a delicious goblet of fresh strawberries and blueberries topped with cinnamon whipped cream. Next came the tea options—most were a variety of tea bags though my wife had the London Fog tea which she liked. The rest of us had the loose leaf white tea that was most enjoyable. Trays came with scones accompanied by clotted cream, lemon curd and fog jam. There were 5 assorted sandwiches, all delicious. Also included were a selection of pastries and Macarons, most of which we took home for later. We’ve had afternoon teas at numerous places and this ranks with the very best.

Nice view - looking across Pacific Coast Highway to the ocean. This is in the foyer area of a hotel so not a traditional restaurant. Service was slower than I expected due to the small size of the area. My food was cold but I did not want to send it back and keep other in my party waiting. All of us liked the food. I travel with a Celiac husband who was well taken care of (ie not glutened).

Once we got over the disappointment that our reservation had not gone through and were not going to have High Tea as anticipated, things went quite well. The bartender Hillary comped us some champagne and the manager Jeff was very attentive and helped us reschedule for another time. We opted to stay any way and ordered of the regular and happy hour menus, food was great, service was top notch and the sunset was spectacular. Returning tomorrow with group of girlfriends for tea. Delightful experience.

Overall great. Had a server who had a miserable disposition and seemed to have a problem when asked to help with anything. But the lady who also worked there and the manager appologised and made the experience much better... to the point where the miserable man did not hurt our experience. Very unusual for this place, so perhaps he was having a bad day.

We sat on the Veranda and there was a lot of street noise, including several ambulance sirens. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Our server was very sweet, but the service was beyond slow...it took over an hour to get our meal from the time we ordered. Also, the coffee was good, but it was served lukewarm.

We were served very tiny glasses of water at the beginning of the meal and had to flag down the server to get more.

I wanted to give a 5 Star rating, but couldn’t because of the service.

I will try this place again because the food is so good, but next time, I hope to get my food served quicker!
