The waitress, Lorena, was a sweetheart. Very kind and accommodating. We were there for sunset...so ambiance perfect. and food was delish. We had the forked smashed guac. Caesar and Hamachi. YUM!
We were there to celebrate a birthday. Melinda our server was great, as was the rest of the staff. Drinks were amazing, food delicious and service on point.
Always good food and the best atmosphere with an ocean view.
The food and service are excellent. We have dinner there either on the veranda or inside each time we visit Santa Monica.
The waitstaff was exceptional. Incredibly friendly and covid-careful (masks, gloves, distance).
One of the best brunches I’ve had in LA!
I took my friend for her birthday; we were seated on the outdoor but glassed in patio.
IT WAS LOVELY!
The menu items were great; the service was wonderful. It was SO FANTASTIC to be out and 'somewhere.'
My friend loved her birthday and I couldn't recommend a more beautiful day to anyone.
Great brunch spot! Staff was super friendly and the mimosa flight is a must. Accomodating with dietary restrictions.
Really great place to sit outside see the ocean fantastic drinks and cocktails
Delightful service by Mehra, plus exquisitely prepared food made for a wonderful dinner experience at The Veranda. Will definitely come back!
Sunday, April 4th was a warm & sunny day to celebrate Easter brunch at the Veranda Restaurant. We were seated on the upper level of the Veranda to experience the beautiful ocean view while dining was amazing. The attentive service, food and atmosphere were outstanding.
To top off the day, we decided to have cocktails at their indoor bar! It was an amazing way to highlight the Holiday.
I highly recommend this place.
Wonder staff and Beautiful property
Was really excited for this place based on atmosphere and reviews. Went for breakfast at 8:30 and was not busy at all, but food took over 30 min to get to us and when it did it was cold. Seems like it was sitting for a while. Wait staff was friendly, but also not super attentive.
Pretty setting but very limited menu and no accommodations of allergies are honored. Guacamole was very strange and bland. Cocktail and wine list also very limited and uninspired. Not my fave.
Taking a friend out for birthday dinner here because they had a fabulous chicken dish with truffles that I had ordered about 3 weeks prior. When we received the dish, I note that it has changed, and the mushrooms (truffles) are not the same. No aroma, no moist texture. I told the waitress, and she got the manager. He proceeded to educate me about truffles and how these were actual truffles. I said no, and he continued to argue with me. Then when he suggested we order something else, he brought only 1 menu to look at. I asked him for 2, please, as there are 2 people here, and he would not. We left the restaurant after paying for our drinks.
There only 2 servers on the floor on a day that was bright, shiny, and beautiful. The patio was full and the servers although very nice were truly overwhelmed. My Eggs Benedict (which is why I came here) arrived cold and was smothered with lemon juice, it was so lemony it destroyed the hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were hot and tasty!
My friend had the Steak and Eggs and said everything was just as she ordered. Perfect! So overall despite my cold benedict, I will return but I will be very specific about my order this time.
Lovely patio dining with a view, yummy breakfast burrito and generously tall mimosa with just a splash of OJ. A bit of a wait for food on a warm, busy Saturday, but worth it!
One minor thing, after food was served no one came over a little later to check we had everything etc. I needed condiments.
Great ambiance
We were guests at the hotel which had us very excited to try this restaurant attached to it. First of- we checked in about an hour early to see if we could be seat on the top to have an ocean view, I confirmed my time with the hostess and was told I would definitely be saved a spot in the place we requested. When we came at the time at our reservations- we were five minutes early, our table was given away. We also were told to wait about 20-30 minutes until one would open up. Not only did we have to wait, we were sat by a very loud group of children. Out of their control- yet we expressed it was a special night and we were tired from our four hour drive in.
The service was meh. The waiter took a while to get out our drinks- and the water is very chalky, and very small. I ordered a tea, and had to get it to go as they never sent it out during my whole time eating dinner. The food was okay- and at least warm. The place is in a very pretty place and needs the service to match it. They need more organization. Just because the place is right on the beach, doesn’t mean we should lose the customer service.
Melinda and Lorena are attentive and caring servers. Pleasure to have them assisting us. Charcuterie board was goos as always but seemed smaller today. Fish tacos were great but the spaghetti not so much. Pasta was very over cooked and gummy. Will still go back for the view me amazing servers.
Great food, service, and view!
Veranda treated us so well, letting us move from inside to outside. Food was terrific but the view and ambiance was even better. I live near by and still that the scene and vibe and the food was extraordinary.
Loved it! I Will eat here every week.
Cute place and the service was excellent! Our waiter could not have been nicer!
Beautiful hotel. Restaurant overlooks the ocean. Food was great.
You’re paying for the location and view. As long as you know that, you’ll love it. Went here for brunch. The food was just ok. It arrived cold. I’m not a fan of cold breakfast potatoes and eggs. Mimosas (not bottomless and pricey per the glass) were weak and mostly OJ. Service was just ok too. Not super attentive and they didn’t seem too crazy busy. It’s expensive for what you get, but then again the ocean is the star of the experience.
We love the Veranda and we love what these folks are doing to keep it all running. We appreciate all the cooks, all the servers, and all who make it possible to still eat at the Veranda. Our eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection, however the dish was as a whole kinda bland. The coffee was amazing. The service slipped a little in the middle of our dining experience but we get it, these are different times and no one is truly in their element with all the new rules and guidelines. All of the staff followed any and all Covid related safety guidelines. Thank you for being open and all that you do to make it so. We will be back! Side note: dinner here is absolutely outstanding.
Had dinner here on Valentine's Day. It was so refreshing to go out to eat, especially with outdoor seating where we could watch the sunset right over the Santa Monica beach. So gorgeous! The food was delicious and came out very fast. Would highly recommend the chicken with the truffle mashed potatoes! Kind wait staff, lovely lobby area, tables felt appropriately distanced. Thanks Veranda for a lovely dinner!
Excellent customer service
Amazing food and service! We will be back again very soon!
