The Veranda Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was a wonderful venue for lunch, The meals are delicious and reasonably priced. The service was impeccable! It was a warm day (90's) but the outdoor fans provided a comfortable enviroment. The walk around the garden paths after lunch was outstanding, just a wonderful place~
The Veranda Restaurant in Fallbrook is run by the Grand Tradition wedding and event venue and has a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding gardens. It's a beautiful location. The wait staff were very friendly and efficient and the food and bloody marys were very good. It is definitely worth the drive to Fallbrook!
The wait staff was excellent. Our party was drinking water only and I was ready to ask for a pitcher when Cortland brought a carafe of iced water.
Alexis was friendly and offered menu suggestions as well as answered all of our questions.
We will no doubt come back to enjoy another wonderful dining experience.
Friday, June 30 at 1:45 p.m. was a perfect time at the Veranda. I took a friend to lunch for her birthday. It is such a beautiful, peaceful and unique place to celebrate a birthday. This was the second time I celebrated a birthday at the Veranda. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone.
The Veranda Restaurant is by far one of a kind, wonderful surroundings, view, food great, however, we left unfortunately without eating. We had a 10:00 A.M. reservation, were seated at a very tiny table, which was not a concern, at the end of the porch, DIRECTLY in the sun, it was 90 degrees at that time already. My husband is elderly, and we could not sit there and swelter in that heat. Asked for another place, there were empty tables, but am sure they were reserved for large parties. They were not at all accommodating, was that table or not..... so we left. I would suggest if you go to The Veranda you go when it is not hot weather.
We were very excited to have Father's Day brunch at The Veranda. It's been on our list to try for a year. We got to our table and felt the sun beating down especially on my son. The restaurant was not busy at all and had several open tables. We told the hostess we would like to move from the sun. We were told no. All the other tables were apparently reserved. Well, needless to say this put a damper on the morning. By the time we left (and fought off all the gnats that were flying around) we were frustrated. There were still many many tables open and available. Not sure I would return. The food was great but disappointed in the lack of concern.
One more note, to have to pay an extra $2.50 per person to walk around the grounds was ridiculous! I understand if we were not paying customers but really? Very petty!
Would love to have this restaurant open a few evenings a week. I understand that on the weekends it is booked with special events but it would be wonderful if they could do like a Wednesday and Thursday evening for dinner and cocktails. It is so lovely and we absolutely love dining on the Veranda and the food and service is amazing.
This place is a gem in the back country. The gardens are so lovely and the heart shaped lake is beautiful. Sitting on the veranda and looking out over the lake is so serene. The service was wonderful and the price is modest. I had a really nice salad.
Even is you don't stay for lunch, a stroll through the gardens can provide a peaceful interlude in your day.
The Veranda is a dining experience not just a restaurant. Be sure to have time to enjoy the total experience of the restaurant as well as walking the immaculate grounds. The food was very reasonably priced for such a great atmosphere compared to a winery but the food was as good if not better than any meal I have had at a Temecula winery.
Great time for celebrating my birthday. The food was very good, very reasonably priced. We had the Avocado Egg Roll for appetizer along with the dish of veggies with dip and fruit with yogurt already on the table, and for our brunch, we ordered the Veggie Quiche with Home Fries Potatoes. Everything tasted great and was beautifully presented. At the end of our meal, our server brought out a special mini-dessert for me and my husband to share, and he even videoed on my phone us singing happy birthday and me blowing out the candle. Beautiful view of the manicured lawn and pond with fountain, and while dining we enjoyed watching a wedding party be photographed in the gardens. Afterwards, we walked around to look at all the luscious gardens with waterfalls and exotic flowers. Romantic, peaceful and charming.
I came here to celebrate a friends birthday. I had tried to get earlier reservations when my daughter was in town from college and nothing was available. I booked a couple weeks out and sadly, it turned out to be the weekend it rained - a lot. Heat lamps were turned on and the food, service, and wonderful setting were so wonderful even the rain couldn't spoil the day. I would come back here again, but be sure to make reservations well in advance.
I rated the noise level as quiet because we had the last table on the veranda, so we were spared some of the noise from being in the center of the veranda. We had visited Grand Tradition before (we drive up from San Diego), so we were eager to re-visit the gardens, waterfalls, beautiful flower beds. I made our reservation on Open Table but also received a live phone call from Grand Tradition two days before our lunch to confirm. After our lunch, we told the waitress we were eager to walk the paths through the gardens, and we were told that there was going to be a wedding later that day and that we weren't allowed to see the gardens! WHAT??! Why weren't we told that when they called us to confirm the reservation??! We wouldn't have driven up just for lunch. Makes us wonder if they just didn't want to "lose" the lunch revenue by telling us that. Our lunch was delicious, and you can't beat the veranda for ambiance. But the fact that we weren't told about the wedding so we could make a different decision has left a bad taste in our mouths. Too bad.
Thought tables were a little too close together. We had a group of about 10 female tennis players celebrating a birthday next to us. Although they were not very loud my husband and I could follow the whole conversation . They had a lot of fun but did not share any of their beautiful birthday cake with us ......Too bad!
We went with our 6 year old for brunch and had a very enjoyable experience. The service was excellent, the brunch options were delicious (the bagel with lox and the waffle with fresh berries were particularly good) and the setting was lovely. All tables have a view of the lake and lawn. We had a large wedding-related party next to us, but the noise never really disturbed our dining. For the setting, we considered the food to be a good value (about $10-$11 per main). It's worth taking the time after your meal to stroll around the lake and explore the nearby Compass Garden.
