The Veranda Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The menu is simple, not very large, and our meal was alright. The kitchen made several mistakes on our order, but the waitress was very good and not to blame for the meal being "so so." Were offered two deserts on the house for the kitchen's error. Atmosphere is amazing-especially with cooler weather. Will return again, with family and friends. A great little secret hidden away in Fallbrook.
Had been there long before, but were anxious to see if it still appealed to us. We knew the gorgeous nature of the environment but wanted to see if the food could match. We were overwhelmed by the quantity, quality, flavor and price, and will most certainly return soon!
Such a beautiful place to go to. Doesnt matter the reason just a great getaway. Seating over looks the lake as you get to see all the birds fly by, flowers, and full of life trees. The servers and other workers are all great. They help eachother out and always check in at a great time. Lovely place. Highly reccomend.
the Grand Tradition is a wonderful little treasure in Fallbrook. the Beverly Mansion is beautiful and currently decorated for the holidays. The gardens are gorgeous as were the lake and waterfalls. Dining at The Veranda restaurant was a special treat and food was delicious. Can't wait to go back.
A great place to enjoy brunch with family. Very limited seating and operating hours, but worth it if you can reserve a table. They have a few tables for 2 and twice as many tables for up to 6 at each. Food was excellent and had balance among the ingredients and served hot. There was a slight lull in service but it picked up (with only 4 tables to serve on Sat morning.) During November, there is no worries about the sun glaring onto the porch, although I am not sure if it is an issue during the warmer months.
My husband and I dined here for our one-year wedding anniversary. Grand Tradition provides a $30 dining credit for brunch or lunch at The Veranda Restaurant during your wedding month every year for the rest of your lives as part of their Ring Corps program when you get married at Grand Tradition.
The Veranda Restaurant is outdoor dining with a beautiful view of the lake attached to the Beverly Mansion. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They provide a complimentary fruit and veggie crudite platter with a yogurt dip for the fruit and a savory, creamy dip for the veggies. I loved the avocado egg roll appetizer. It came with a side of chipotle aioli that added a tasty southwestern flavor. We also tried the mushroom brie bisque, cuban sandwich and wellington benedict. The bisque and cuban were passable. The bisque needed more flavor and the butter pickles overpowered the sandwich. Would definitely recommend the benedict.
Again, loved the ambiance and will definitely return as long as we can make the drive. It is always nice to "take a walk down memory lane" around the venue and reminisce about our wedding day too!
I had friends in town and wanted them to experience the beautiful grounds at the Veranda Restaurant. They almost cancelled; however, they agreed to stay and were so happy they did. They said afterward, that if they had gone home when they intended, they would have really missed something. Our waitress, Crystal, was adorable and even wrapped up leftovers with a fresh flower (what a pleasant surprise). The cost is very reasonable as well. It is definitely a wonderful surprise. I wish they were open more often. it is worth the wait.
We were a group of 4. We started with bruschetta and the portabella bites and then each had sandwiches which were very tasty and a good value. The homemade chips were under seasoned. The men in our group had French fries and potato salad both of which were ok but nothing special. The other woman in our group rated the sweet potato fries very highly. The good was a very good value for the money. Each of us brought 1/2 of the sandwich home for another meal. We shared two flourless chocolate cakes which we enjoyed. We enjoyed walking the garden ground afterwards. Admission was reduced from $7 to $2.50 because we had eaten there. This was the first trip for 3 of the 4 of us. We all agreed we would return.
This is unique place to have brunch. The surrounding grounds are immaculate and an inspiration for the eye. The restaurant, located on the veranda, is also unusual. Every table, spread across the veranda, has a beautiful view and is elegantly set with a white table cloth and fresh fruit. The friendly service was attentive but not oppressive. You'll find the food delicious and fairly priced and the wine list adequate and affordable. If you go, get there early so you can stroll the gardens and maybe take walk around the lake.
This was one of the most beautiful places I have ever dined! The grounds are breathtaking. It was so relaxing sitting out on the veranda, looking at the lovely scenery. The added bonus was taking the garden walk, for $2.50 p/p. Well worth it! Great spot for taking scenic pictures. We will most definitely be back!
The food was absolutely disgusting. I ordered an eggs Benedict dish and the eggs were basically hard boiled! Yuck! My mother ordered quiche and she got a bowl of scrambled eggs with a pastry puff on top. The scenery was beautiful. The service was terrible. Our waitress would disappear for 20 minutes at a time.
I was very excited to go on a date with my hunny for brunch. I was disappointed with the fact that since we arrived 7 mins early we were asked to come back at exactly the time of our reservation and didn't appreciate being sat in a corner. Down a very narrow hall. It felt very cramped and they didn't give us the option to sit at any of the shaded open tables. Which I might add there was a lot of tables that were either empty or could of sat like 6 people but only had 2 people sitting at them. VERY dissatisfied with that! Didn't feel they cared to make us happy and it took forever for a server to come back to check on if we wanted any drinks. I would ONLY recommend the View but not the service. Pretty disappointing :(
Lunch with my girlfriends.
Service great until dessert course. We were not asked if we wanted dessert- just a check was presented and that was not very sweet. We tipped 15% instead of 20% if she asks.
Otherwise, it was a perfect day- cannot complain. It was late . We were the last customers for lunch and surely the waitress wanted to go home. She shouldn't think we didn't notice or assume we were not formerly in the fine dining field, so may not notice this push out the door. We noticed!
The Veranda is located in a beautiful park like setting. We had reservations for brunch and got there shortly before they closed at 1:00, but they were so nice to accommodate us. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the view. The food was great and on the fancy side. It is also a beautiful place for weddings.
Service, value & scenery were great as well as the presentation of the food. Only problem was my wife's omelet was cold - the cheese not melted in the slightest. Seems they cook the omelet eggs and then place so many small cold cut-up tomatoes in with the cheese the cheese doesn't melt whatsoever and it brings down the temperature of the whole thing. The cooks might want to reconsider how they prepare the omelets. Otherwise, all the other food was excellent.
Beautiful, panorama vistas. Food was so-so.
You can't beat the Veranda for their views. Other than the beach it has the best view in North San Diego County. The heart shape lake and lush tropical settings with cascading waterfalls should not be missed. The food was okay but a bit pricey for what you get. you are really paying to just see the views. Too bad you have to pay for lunch at the veranda and cannot come just to see the gardens.
