My friends and I went for brunch, and had a really good time! The food was good, and so was the service. The owner was super friendly! :)
We loved it! Also very accommodating to my dairy allergy.
We had a great meal for a double birthday celebration! Seated right on time. Our waiter was patient and helpful( loved the Red Blend wine).
Good food and just-right sized plates ( but BIG and delicious pork chop entree).
Hubby loved the chicken confit.
Go there for a very calm, cozy night out that will not break the budget.
We really felt like Joey was welcoming us into his home. The drinks and food were dry and comforting. We also felt that all COVID protocols were handled with extreme care and thoughtfulness. Highly recommended.
Worked with Joey to provide a special 18th birthday celebration for my daughter and a few friends. He went above and beyond my expectations. My daughter rand friends said the food was better than eating in NYC!
Food and service were excellent!
Great food and warm, fun service. The wine list is thoughtful and approachable.
The Vandal was really nice and the food was delicious.
My wife staff was wearing masks). Food was excellent - you can really tell they use quality, natural ingredients up and down the menu (Pumpkin Ravioli - highly recommend). Service was spot on and personal. If you’re looking for a quality dining experience in the heart of Lawrenceville, give The Vandal a look
Great food, helpful staff and a nice atmosphere. The menu is always fantastic
My friend and I went for a quick brunch after a morning of shopping on Butler! They were super quick to accommodate us - and very flexible. We had orange juice, steak tartare, the Vandal Breakfast, and the breakfast sandwich. Everything was so great, and the aesthetic of the restaurant is such a calm minimalism. This is a great spot for a casual brunch or yummy dinner!
My wife and I had an amazing time at the Vandal last Saturday. Each appetizer and entree was an explosion of carefully crafted tastes. The presentation of each dish was beautifully artistic.
We had some time to visit with Joey (the owner) and his passion for food and pleasing the patron was remarkable.
We can't wait to go again - with firends.
always a great experience at the vandal. they did an amazing job adjusting to service due to covid-19 - we felt protected, well taken care of, and well served!
I always enjoy my experience at The Vandal. From the food, service, all the way to the ambiance is stellar! I look forward to going back every time I am in Pittsburgh.
Food and Service were very good and food was not same old food you get elsewhere.
Pretty swanky joint, to say the least.
Lovely brunch. We were so happy to be there. Everything was delicious. Thank you!
Delicious food and drink. Menu was limited but great choices. Elegant Martinis and Negroni cocktails. Stuffed Dates, Crab/Avocado and Vege Fritters were all very tasty. 3 of us had the Swordfish entree and for me me, the Goat Cheese Ravioli with Asperagus. Very tasty! We will be back!
Always unbelievable food and very personal service.
First time there and loved it! Excellent service and food was even better. Definitely going back again.
Our meals & evening at Vandal was very enjoyable. Two people had the chicken, one had steak, one had pasta & seafood, all excellent! I highly recommend Vandal, service was also excellent.
I really enjoyed the minimalistic design and the intimacy. Quiet relaxed place where one can have a delightful conversation. The place creates an unique atmosphere. The staff is friendly, attentive and experienced. Great attention to detail. The food is of higher quality, taste and presentation. Great cocktails menu and expert bartender .
Limited space and menu but food was phenom!!! We will definitely return!!
Another Great meal! Nice interesting wine, Broccoli Rabe to share, Pistachio Garganelli with Lamb Ragu for me and Salmon with white Beans for my wife and the Piece de Resistance, Buttermilk pie with grapefruit marmalade and whipped cream. All outstanding.
One of our favorites in Pittsburgh. A true gem. Friendly well informed staff who really connect to patrons. Interesting delicious food from a small creative menu.
Had a dinner date with my wife and friends. Excellent food, and service. I enjoyed it immensely and will be back.
Fantastic restaurant with a cool modern vibe. The intimate space allows you to be immersed in the whole dining experience.
We went during restaurant week. They had 2 options for a fixed price for salad, entree and dessert. It was very reasonably priced. Both salads were excellent. One of the entrees was quite good, but the fish entree
was completely bland and tasteless. The desserts one was excellent, the other was rather ordinary. I will try this restaurant again if there are more options on the menu, not during restaurant week.
The food was not good...we are disappointed. We had three starters: the steamed clam, the salad and the kale. The steamed clam was fine, but a little bit too salty. The salad was basically 4 pieces of leaves with weird pesto and the kale was tempura style but hard to swallow. The entree was very disappointed, too. The cod was super plain, and the lamb pasta was too salty...the only thing that was actually not bad was the peach tart.
Delicious destination during Restaurent week. Dylan was a helpful server and every detail was perfect
Unique and delicious food. It was a little chilly room temperature, especially since the door to the outside opens into the small dining area.need to dress warmly in the cold winter!
We visited for dinner during restaurant week and were delighted with the tempura vegetable appetizer (especially the fennel) and the lamb ragu with pistachios. Service was excellent. We will be back!
Great as usual, Buttermilk Pie to die for!!! We feel right at home at the Vandal.
Awesome consistently great food and service. Becca and Cole create inspiring dishes. The menu changes regularly so keep visiting to try new dishes. Whatever you do if you see Buttermilk pie on the desert menu order it! You ll be glad you did.
NYE dinner. First time here and we were blown away by the meal. Service was very good as well.
Service and ambiance were great, however, the food was rather forgettable.
Loved it! Our server was super, as was the food & beverage selections. Will return soon.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh and a must if you're in the Lawrenceville area. The food is always excellent and I've never had a bad or even a disappointing meal. Service is routinely quite good and the menu changes just enough to keep it interesting. Everything is expertly prepared, the severs are very knowledgeable, and the interior is just right. I love coming here and am looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work!
Unique & delicious menu from appetizer to dessert.
Our visit to the Vandal was the first time for dinner, but we'd been for brunch before which was delicious. The food and service were great, but the restaurant was freezing cold. I had to sit with my jacket on the entire dinner service in order to stay remotely warm. Although the food is great, I definitely won't be returning unless its a warm evening outside.
