I had been recommended to eat at the Upton Inn by a few people and I was not disappointed. The location is lovely, there was an excellent choice of beer and the food was superb. They certainly don't skimp on portion size and there is a good choice with some dishes outside what you would expect for normal pub grub. My only disappointment was there was no goat curry when we went. Oh and the service was friendly but not intrusive. All round a very lovely evening.

Great dinner here , four of us attended. Good menu choices, great beer and wine. Have also been here for Sunday lunch which is fab!!

Food we ordered was quite good in terms of presentation and taste - just a shame the menu was quite limited. Very flat atmosphere although staff were friendly and attentive.

We have dined at The Upton before and I had booked it again for my brothers birthday as we have enjoyed our previous visits . The bar man didn't seem to have much of a clue as to what he was doing, didn't understand the concept of whisky and dry ginger, and although there were only five of us in the party was extremely slow and got himself in quite a muddle working out the initial drinks bill. We were shown to our table, which had a reserved for 7:45pm sign on it, and then about 15 minutes later we were approached by the chap who took us to the table in the first place and asked if we had booked that night or just sat ourselves at the table, as it was already booked!!! The food was very good, and we all enjoyed our meals, but left feeling that there is a definite need for staff training and dining room etiquette

Over all very good pleasant dining experience. I would return and would recommend as all very good value, service food and ambience.

Came here with a group (6), taking a chance as we had never been before but it was fairly close where we lived. It was a real find, with a great menu with wide choice, great quality food and excellent friendly service. I don't believe it is a chain and it showed, the manageress was very hands on and clearly cared for the quality of service being provided. We will definitely return. On-line booking also worked very well.

What a fantastic pub. Set high on a hill, great views, fantastic food. The staff and chef made it great tastes with lots of fun thrown in and great service. Fireside table in a cosy restaurant was terrific. The Upton Inn is such a contrast to many of the other pubs with mediocre service and food we've been to for meals recently in and around Bath and outshines them on every point. Well Done Upton Inn! I would recommend Upton Inn highly for a great night out or a party celebration.We will be back very soon!

Overall very enjoyable, just a little unfortunate that the Upton is having a refurb which looks as if it should soon be completed. Staff were very friendly and helpful and meal excellent value enjoyed by all.
