The Union is a contemporary restaurant and bar set in a beautiful 15th century building in the heart of Rye. Our menu is made up of small and large plates which we recommend sharing across the table. Our team will be on hand to guide you through your visit.

Our food is guided by the seasons and our menu is ingredient led so changes based on what we have available to us. We primarily use British produce and work with local suppliers to ensure we always source the very best ingredients we can get our hands on.

This is a great little restaurant, super vibes, very relaxing and yet extremely exacting with the food, both service and quality of the product. We had the feasting menu, which is a bit like a tasting menu or large tapas, is plenty for two blokes (my wife couldn’t quite finish her half) and we had a nice bottle of Gavi to wash it down. Do go there, it’s one of those places where you look at the menu and like everything on it. And even better, it’s in one of the quaintest towns in England.

Lovely place and lovely staff. Good wine list. The menu was great but too many of the dishes had a mayonnaise type sauce which negated the good ingredients. The charred asparagus was so charred the asparagus had no taste at all. I'm sure this can all easily be adjusted

Well what a delight. Superb food beautifully served in very nice surrounding wine was great value and all round excellent. One big failing is they let dogs in. I find dining with pets around uncomfortable and unhygenic and it spoilt what would otherwise have been a perfect family lunch

Steak to share was a wonderful experience and found no fault in the side dishes which were also plenty to share for two. Service was spot on as well as the wine available with a wonderful range of English wines. One of the finer restaurants in Rye…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely dinner here! The ambience upstairs was a lot quieter than downstairs which was really cool, but did mean our dog settled down and slept. Lovely food and service - good proration sizes on most dishes. The char Sui Hake skewers are not to be missed!
