Delicious food in a unique and welcoming space. Every dish we ordered was a delight. Our server was excellent.

The restaurant is lovely, the staff amazing and very friendly, the layout and decor is also a lovely environment. All of the food was cooked exceptionally well. The food was cooked to a very high standard and the flavours of the steak and lamb were outstanding. My only issue with the restaurant was we ordered their rack of lamb at 35 pounds and it came with 2 cutlets from the rack. A better description for this menu item should have been 1/4 or 25% of a rack lamb. The steak was the same price which is typical for a steak. The steak seemed to be the most common item on other diners plates, so may be a local favourite as it was delicious. Would return but avoid the lamb unless you are not that hungry.

Super nice restaurant in the middle of lots of party pubs. Perfect area to spend a night out and to start with a really fine dining. Lovely staff and very kind service.

Service felt rushed and inept. Multiple inquiries about ordering before we’d even had a moment to look at the menu. Cocktails were barely served before they wanted the wine order. Then one diner ordered and they whisked away without asking the other diner for their order! Medium glasses were requested, but large glasses arrived. Steaks were good, but the kumquat gratin dessert was inedible - like eating a bowl of crystallized fruit, gritty and chewy, with foam on top. The weakest meal we had in our Glasgow weekend, but the most expensive.

Taking a celebration here seemed like great plan but slow service meant some of our party had to go back to work. Then final beverages arrived in 2 different waves and they had not anticipated the need to defrost petit fours - so we left more early. Would think twice before spending this kind of money.

Food was lovely, although 1 piece of meat for the price isn't quite good value for money. We ordered 3 sides for the table and without that I think we would have been hungry. Seems like a good deal but only one piece of meat is a bit poor for £28. Service was fine and food tasty.

Excellent experience at the Chip. The food, ambience, waiting team were all superb. One of our party has a dairy allergy and it was no problem at all - most dishes could be adapted and the waiter was very knowledgeable. Loved it and great for a special occasion.

Delicious food, great service and we loved the vibe! Food surpassed our expectations, one of the best meals we have had in Glasgow. Not really a dessert person but raving about the blood orange sorbet and stout chocolate cake. Also very good for allergies, gave confidence this was well managed.

Our reservation was at 6pm on a Friday night. We arrived a little early and were taken to a quiet table. There weren't. many people eating that early so we had Mark's (our waiter) undivided attention. We had a great chat and he made some fabulous recommendations to us: venison haggis starter, cod dish, and a nice bottle of Nebbiolo d'Alba. We were apprehensive about the haggis but it was delightful - and not gamey at all. All of the food was top notch, and Mark was funny and attentive. By the time we left, the place was packed and Ashton Lane was very busy. Glad we came at the time we did! The weather was fabulous so everyone was in good spirits and having a fine time.
