The Twenties Restaurant
José was a great server! The chef coming out to greet us and ask us how our meal was...loved it!
Waited an hour at the table and all I got was a drink and bread
A beautiful location. The staff was fast and efficient. The food was just ok. A bit heavy on the salt. Very over priced.
The food was superb and the service was great. It wasn't too crowded. We'd definitely go back.
Great find in Atlantic city. Wie welcome it. Prix Fixe was amazing
Ok I always give five stars this is the first time I have given less then 5 stars until now the waiter was nice and the food was good I ordered the gnocchi and my bf got fettuccine pesto these should have been between 15-18 dollars each with apps and non alcoholic drinks the bill should have been 60 usd totall we got the bill it was 106 with tip it was a 126 usd Meal not worth that price ! And worse yet the place was empty on a friday night they were empty in a hotel they were empty ! That should not be!
My wife and I had dinner at the Twenties during a romantic little getway this past week. The food was very very good and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere. I would definitely revisit.
We had the last reservation (9:30PM ) on a weekday, off-season. It was my girl's 30th birthday, and after the last table left, we were the only ones. Our waiter was very gracious, and we ordered off of the prefix menu (the salad and calamari aps, the salmon and chicken parm entrees, and one of each desserts) and everything was absolutely delicious and made to order for us. If you are a fan of the 20's atmosphere, music and vibe, you will love this restaurant. It has been redone (as well as the Claridge hotel) and they have been redone very well. We stayed at the hotel and it was clean, comfortable, accommodating and relaxing from everything from our room to the pool. GO!
We loved the ambiance. Our waiter was most professional. We will definitely be back.
I really enjoyed The Twenties restaurant and the decor was beautiful. Prices were good and the coconut cake was awesome. I felt the service was exceptional.
We ate dinner here and it was a very good, tasty meal. I had the salmon it was delicious my husband had the chicken parmegi also tasty! Also the room service was great we had breakfast and everything was to order.
Food was spectacular (had bucatini amatriciana and the stuffed pork chop in demi-glace) Service by Jose was even better. Real passionate fellow. Real interesting guy. Only things I would change to help atmosphere would be dim the lights more, have table cloths and real candles instead of place mats and led candles. This would then make the place more authentic with the history of the Claridge it is trying to convey.
Twenties was nearly empty for an early dinner. The service was prompt and the waitstaff was knowledgeable.
They have a nice wine list with some unique takes on cocktails, too.
The risotto which came with the scallops was the highlight of the meal; the carpaccio was good, but accompanied by a mound of greens which were unnecessary. The steak was done perfectly, but the side of garlic potatoes was an additional charge.
The atmosphere fit well with the restaurant's own advertising for style and ambience. Excellent for a slow, romantic meal.
Pretty nice inside but after that it was horrible. There are staffing issues to say the least.
The bartender is also the hostess and then runs through the dining room to the kitchen
repeatedly. It took a half and hour to get a drink. An hour to get our salad. The app came out with our dinner and hour and a half later. The waiter told us the first one was burned.
The prosciutto wrapped shrimp app was over risotto and was the only good thing. My husband
ordered gnocchi with only a light amount of sauce. It came out swimming in sauce and the
waiter said the kitchen didn't listen and he could take it back if we wanted. I ordered the tuna
and I should have sent it back. It was so overdone and tough. I was so hungry at that point I needed to eat something. Not a good experience at all
We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. Our waiter was very attendant and knowledgeable. I was surprised to find that they were out of lamb and hollandaise sauce for the steak we ordered instead. Quality of salads were fresh and cold. Steak was very good. Waiter was really personable.
The service was very good and professional. The food was not only pretty but delicious. I highly recommend the caprese salad...the mozzarella was so fresh and creamy. I also had the crab cake dinner and a side of the garlic greenbeans which were excellent. My husband had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly along with the olive oil garlic mashed potatoes. He said the corn chowder soup was above average, as well. I think this is a hidden gem....I would definitely dine here again, if in town.
The dining room was tacky, not upscale in any way. The food was overpriced, especially for what we ordered. And we both got sick to our stomachs after eating the food there. The experience ruined our wedding night. I would never go back. And I will not recommend the restaurant, in fact I might go out of my way to let anyone considering eating there know how terrible it was.
We had a reservation for 7pm, we arrived about 5 minutes early to find the restaurant nearly silent and almost entirely empty. There were four tables occupied when we entered the dining room - one, a group of six made up of older couples, who looked like they were wrapping things up (they left shortly after we sat down). There was also a family of four, a couple, and then a group of about 8 young women in their twenties or early thirties. No one was talking, or eating. The waiter was terse and not particularly warm, but when we ordered our drinks we felt optimistic. That was the high point of the experience. About 20 minutes after we had ordered we had received no drinks, not even a complementary basket of bread. That's when we noticed the group of 8 talking to their waiter who was saying "I'll talk to the chef, yes, I'll send out the manager." "Uh oh" we thought. Then we noticed our own waiter was gone and no where to be seen, the bar tender was overheard on the phone saying to what I can only assume was a hotel guest ordering their dinner "Your food won't be ready for at least an hour." Then the chef/manager (?) came out and addressed the group of 8 in a very rude and off-putting manner. One woman said they had been there for over 2 hours and hadn't received any food yet. The manager said "I don't know what you want me to do, it's not ready yet, we have three guys working on it." It went from there. We watched the whole scene unfold and then suddenly realized we'd rather be anywhere but in that awful tomb of a restaurant, not eating our rather expensive pasta that we'd ordered. When the women left without having eaten any food after 2 hours, we decided to make a break for it and we left too. We cancelled our drinks and as we went to get on the elevator to exit, we met our waiter who was coming out of the elevator! The whole experience was bizarre and it felt like we were on "Kitchen Nightmares" - stay away!
Besides the fact that they ran out of"soup of the day, dinner rolls were stale. My wife ordered a salad, which they forgot.
This small but elegant venue was cozy with great furniture, great service with a smile and great portions. The manager smiled, greeted my wife and I. The waiter was awesome and had knowledge of the food and was very courteous. Helped my wife with her napkin and coat!
Service was excellent -- Thanks Donnie !!! Good was wonderful !! The ambiance was just so-so !
We tried Twenties for the first time during restaurant week. We were drawn by the menu they had chosen for the week. The space is wood paneled and warm. If you'r lucky enough to be seated by a window, you'l have a wonderful view of the boardwalk.
Our server was wonderful and the food was delicious. Make sure to leave room for the coconut cake if they have it on the menu.
Fabulous food, impeccable service, romantic spot with great scenery. The owner, who also hosts Mama Mia, is the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.
Caesar salad is not ur typical Ceasar. It was grilled & did not have enough dressing on it. Also was not chopped.... Great value for restaurant week!
We live in town and went to the Twenties during restaurant week to support a local non casino restaurant. The bartender was great Things went downhill after that. The waitress seemed inexperienced and unprepared. She did not know anything about the menus choices and could make no suggestions . Of 4 meals served not one was enjoyed at our table. Salmon inconsistently cooked pasta sauce overly sweet, chicken over salted and steak ordered rare arrived dry and well done. Second steak also dry and medium. First steak was served with green beans and the second arrived with asparagus . Steak was left on the plate and server was advised it was not edible. She replied " that's a shame" Check contained no reduction for the uneaten meal.
When we expressed our concerns to the manager we were given his card and apologies. He suggested we return some time and he would treat us to ' a drink or something" he also acknowledged he was in the kitchen when the steak was returned but never came to the table himself. He will not have to worry about buying us that drink. We won't be returning
4 people , 3 casino employees and a nurse who interact with people all day could have been great advertisers for the restaurant. Instead we will share our disappointment with the food, the service and the management of The Twenties.
This is a great place to dine for any occasion. The food and portion sizes were great and the atmosphere is great. Our server was great and very polite and friendly.
I can't believe that I've been to Atlantic City so many times and never heard of this place. This restaurant located on the 6th floor of the Claridge Hotel is a beautiful nostalgic experience of old A/C. The food was truly outstanding from the salad to coffee and cake. I had the veal and pasta which was the best veal I have enjoyed outside my home. The steak came perfect with steakhouse quality. I cannot say enough about the food and service, please give it a try when in South Jersey. Thank You Open Table, I would never have chose this restaurant with you.
Tried the restaurant during Restaurant Week in Atlantic City . The dining room is a bit secluded and private. The portions of food were enormous. Both of us had to take the remainder of the meal home for the next day. Service was very good. Overall, a nice experience.
The quality of the food and the ambience made the twenties a unique experience
My wife an I had a date weekend ate here and stayed here too. Or staff very attentive but not over bearing. Very good food and not to extensive of a menu. Would definitely reccomend . Food could have been a little more heat hot but still very tasty!!!!

We arrived and there was only one table seated, which made us happy since it would be a quiet visit. We ordered our cocktails, then waited. And waited. After 10 minutes or so, the waiter brought over two glasses of water. We ordered two grilled ceasar salads for a starter, and the waiter, who was very nice, took our order and headed back into the kitchen. Then we waited another 20 minutes for that. Once it arrived he took our entree order. The salad was... interesting. When it said grilled ceasar salad, we though it meant grilled chicken. It actuall was an entire head of romain lettuce that they had cooked on the grill. This charred many of the edges as well as just gave it a weird burnt flavor. The dressing was great but there wasn't much of it. And the Croutons were to die for. 20 minutes later, the entrees arrive. Outside of the wait the entrees were amazing. My wife had the salmon which she said was delicious, and I had the NY Strip Steak, which was seasoned perfectly for my taste. All in all, it was an okay meal. The entrees really made up for the strange salad, but the wait time was rediculous, prompting me to probably never go back unless I didn't have anything else better to do.
Amazin restaurant :) I love it the food vas perfect
Subpar preparations and weird twists on classic Italian recipes.
Visited for first time on New Year's Day. This is one of the top Italian restaurants in AC in terms of quality. Gnocchi was perfect! Steak and sauce was perfectly prepared. Portions are excellent. As a wine aficionado, I can say that the wine list covered all the right bases, with excellent quality throughout, and the best part was that the bottle price markups were well below the norm! Service was very friendly. We will become regulars!
The food was not good over cooked and nothing special.. My boyfriend order the fresh mozzarala salad and they were out of the cheese. We have sooo many choices in a/c and were really upset by the stinky food and their stock in food. How can items be on the menu and 2 out of the 3 things we wanted they did not have the stoff
We decided to book and try this fabulous restaurant out and it was just that! Fabulous.. from the ambiance to the food and service! I would definitely recommend people to try this place at least once! I had gnocci and the pesto was out of this world. My guy had a filet and OMG, I have to come back just so I can now order a steak too! It was absolutely perfect! If you want a special night and delicious food and fantastic service.. The Twenties Restaurant should be the place!
Somewhat overpriced IMHO but food was great, great service, nice dessert
Liked the views of the ocean and romantic Sinatra music. Had the tuna which was a little over done but fine. Hubby had chicken parmigiano which was made special, grilled not fried. Very quiet which I like.
The bar will take you back to the roaring twenties, but this restaurant is quiet with a great ambience. The service was terrific. We chose to share several appetizers that were nicely plated and delicious. The crusted lamb chops were cooked to my liking and tender. The steaks and pasta dishes were enjoyed by everyone at our table. The wine list is diversified. We ordered a chianti that was reasonably priced and full bodied. Our dinners ended with shared desserts (the dinner portions are generous). Our party of seven left satisfied and would certainly return to The Twenties on our next visit to AC. Consider making a reservation for special occasions or just an intimate dinner for two.
The Pork Chop stuffed with Fontana Cheese was so different and Delicious Toped with grapes which made a delicious sauce! The appetizer Meatballs over Polenta was amazing Best Meatballs ever !! The Caesar salad was a meal in itself and like artwork the way it was presented ! Dan our server was the BEST ! Telling everyone about this gem ! the Prohibition Bar was stunning !! My husband was thrilled they had Gentleman Jack Daniels !!
