Beautiful! Felt like a nice country club restaurant. The menu had lots of options that all sounded fantastic. The bottomless mimosa special was a great deal. Our server was attentive and considerate. The short rib didn’t even need a knife it was so tender! The pancakes were 10/10 best pancakes I’d ever had. The raspberry jelly made them even better!
My cheese and bacon omelette was underwhelming. All the food was overpriced. I asked for a substitution for the potatoes and they gave me what I did not ask for. The omelette was $15, no toast, just a small omelette on a plate with asparagus that I did not like. And they would not give us separate checks. An overall bad experience.
We paid 6$ for a small basket of mediocre bread with a tiny butter cup. ridiculous for such an uppity restaurant. That should be complimentary with the water when guests sit down. Other upscale restaurants offer bread like that for
free. Since it was $6 we assumed it would be more generous than it was. Service was also quite slow even though the restaurant was basically empty. Not the waiters fault, we saw he had to bus and set his tables after guests left, including a table for a large party, which is putting too much on his plate and impacting his ability to check on guests in a timely fashion. this place has some kinks to work out, for sure.
This was my first restaurant visit since it seems forever. I chose this venue based solely on the pictures of outdoor dining and a prayer that the weather would accommodate. I was not disappointed. My friend and I were seated as per our reservation on the patio and for the next 3 hours talked and dined in the most pleasurable environment. Perhaps it was the results of being isolated for those many months but everything was especially enjoyable. Our server was attentive but saw we really wanted to talk and that really was appreciated. This was my first visit but when circumstances arise to dine in the Columbia area and out-of-doors, the Turn House, perfectly situated between Baltimore and DC with abundant parking, a full menu featuring fresh produce and an attentive staff, will be my first choice.
A+ amazing food, service and view!
Our server was the world's worst!!! She brought our appetizers and entrees simultaneously. For a classy restaurant, there is no excuse for this. After the meal she brought our check without asking if we wanted dessert or coffee or anything else. She belongs at McDonald's
The seafood soup was outstanding and the short ribs were yummy. Our friends had softshell crab sandwiches that they complimented.
So, food excellent; service atrocious.
Hostess did compensate us.
Our waiter was inexperienced. He was polite but immature and did not give us great service. The food was okay but we had to send back French fries that were heavily salted. Also two salads came without chicken and shrimp.
Food was good which is a shame as the service is lousy. The server kept apologizing that everything was taking so long but didn’t realize he was the problem. He spent time talking to everyone but not to anyone at the tables he was responsible for. Kept apologizing for the food taking so long but also never went to check on it.
Finally, face masks are required for the staff but he felt he was an exception to the rule.
Get the burger, pretty good, just make sure you don’t come hungry as you will be waiting awhile!
Our server,Pauline was delightful. Food as always was delicious!
Enjoyed lunch on the patio. Caesar salad was great.
Great patio dining area. Food is very good. There are specials on a few days of the week.
A very nice place
Went here with my wife and some friends to catch up and loved everything about the experience. The food was amazing, it was a nice day so sitting next to the course and driving range provided a great view, and the service was great. We will without a doubt be coming back
Excellent Signature Burger!! Well spread out, clean and friendly service.
hope they have more options for lunch and dinner. menu too limited
Ryan provided exceptional service!
The Turn House never fails to impress. Excellent food, service, and outdoor seating and spectacular thunderstorm. Coming back soon!
Great to be back at the Turn House for lunch. They are running a limited covid menu when I was there otherwise a five star. Settled on the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken which was delicious.
This was our girls day out and we decided on the Turn House for brunch.
Perfect setting for great views, food, bevs and laughter.
We always pick a new restaurant to dine with and we are glad we picked this one. An ad kept popping up when on Instagram so i thought why not try it since it was close to home. The Turn House will have a return visit from us again.
The service was great from entering to exit. I was pleased to still see some distance between tables it was peak busy time 12:30-2:30 on a Sunday.
Oh... the brussel sprouts..are yummmm!
Terrific food. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere outside overlooking the golf course.
Comfortable, relaxing ,safe atmosphere. Attentive service, delicious food.Lovely view of the golf course and outside grounds.
Only concern- the check was presented without any itemization of purchases. We did not take time to ask about it, but it seemed unusual- maybe just an oversight.
The place is amazing due to the views and ambiance, but the service is not good. We had to wait a lot for the food and drinks, and we had to call the waiter many times over. Also, I asked for a Sangria and when I finished it, I found a Coors Light metal top inside. It was great to find trash inside of the beverage you just had (sarcastic). The manager took off the drink and dessert from the ticket, but the bad experience was worth more than that. Not going back any time soon!
Great view golf course! Food was fresh and great! Outside was very nice and great view!
Short-staffed so everything took a long time. But food was very good. Shocked there was no steak on the menu though!
The Rose Sangria is our new favorite summertime cocktail!
Everything was excellent!!! I really had a wonderful time.
As always, great food, excellent service. Refined casual. Nice relaxing ambiance.
I think they must be catching up from COVID right now, because our experience was uncharacteristically subpar. They’ve changed the crispy Brussels sprouts recipe, and not only is it not as good, but ours was soggy and somewhat raw.
The seared rockfish was not seared, and was actually quite dry and WAY too salty. The shrimp and grits was much worse: the shrimp was bare and unseasoned, and the grits were clumpy, dry and tasted powdery—definitely the worst grits I’ve ever had.
We were about to leave, but gave them one more chance at redemption with two burgers, which were thankfully delicious. Cocktails were also pretty good.
Hopefully they are just getting their legs back after COVID, so we’ll revisit in a couple months or so.
The view sitting outside was very nice and service was good however we found most of the food to be meh. Not necessarily bad but nothing we would want to return for. Shame cause the setting was very nice.
Met up with a colleague and we had lunch on the outdoor patio. Lovely setting to do so. Food was tasty, though a bit on the pricier side. Service was pleasant.
Perfect setting for outdoor dining. Only complaint was the supermarket-type crab cakes.
First time dining at the restaurant - outdoor seating worked very comfortably -
Food quality was marginal - surprised -
Will return, but hoping for a better quality meal -
Beautiful view. Ordered the Shrimp and grits they were soupy and bland. Then ordered crab Benedict, much better. Overall experience is average.
I enjoyed the service and the food. I recommend the tuna tartare was delicious.
Great food. Terrific service. Outdoors nice views of the golf course.
All the food was wonderful! The portions sizes were good too. Everyone loved the brisket nachos appetizer. That could have been a meal!
For main dishes we had monkfish, veggie burger and Pork Chop. The presentation of each was impressive and everyone enjoyed their selection. For desert we had the cookie& ice cream (so so) and cheese cake, which was surprisingly delicious, as was the coffee. The rooms were lovely and inviting though a bit crowded and thus a bit noisy. Weather permitting the outside looked lovely too.
We definitely go back again and recommend it. Our biggest compliant was the service which rarely cleared anything nor did they check on us for drink refills etc without being flagged or called over. We suspect it was just our somewhat inexperienced waiter.
We were seated quickly outside. It was windy and we asked for the heater to me lit, they were having trouble lighting due to wind. When we asked for another heater to be rolled over the waiter's response was, I cannot move that. There was no blocking it. The scallops were tasty, however not prepared the way we expected based on the menu description.
The food selection for lunch could be expanded. We had a new waiter and she was very inexperienced. I really wanted a club sandwich and that was not an option. The tea was good. It was very crowded for mother's day weekend.
