Dry pretty restaurant with delicious food. A tiny bit pricy, but definitely worth it from time to time!

My girlfriend and I go to The Turn House once a month to eat the crispy brussel sprouts and peel & eat shrimp. We love it! Make sure you make a reservation.

I had a really poor experience at The Turn House about a year ago at a fundraising event that was held there. The server was very rude, and we suspect her DUMPING an enormous amount of salt on our entrees out of spite. The dish was inedible and we had paid a lot of money for the meal -- money which did not go to the organization we were supporting that night.

I decided to give the restaurant another chance, and a friend and I went for brunch. He was very excited to try their burger that was being served on an English muffin. Although the dining room in which we were seated had 1-2 other tables with customers and was very empty, the food took a long time to come out. When the burger arrived it came out on a regular bun. We asked and the server didn't know, but she took it back anyway. She brought it back on an English muffin, but we had to inquire as to what went wrong with the order -- we asked if we had misunderstood. Only then did she say that the kitchen made the mistake and they apologized. I ordered a side of the root vegetable hash, and the vegetables were very unevenly cooked. Therefore some of them felt raw and undercooked since some of them should have been started earlier/cooked longer in order that all of them were the same consistency - rather than some of them being hard and some of them being mushy and overcooked. It did not seem like the hash was freshly made either -- these were recooked from the previous days.

Overall the server wasn't terribly friendly nor happy.

The location and ambience is really lovely. It is too bad the food has been very inconsistent -- sometimes absolutely inedible, and it is a shame that some of the servers are not very nice.

Great but not too fussy food is the main attraction here. The kitchen especially has a way with frying - artichokes, Brussels sprouts, frites with steak. Lovely composed salads too, and large servings all around. Good quality, reasonably priced wine selections also. Service was friendly but not terribly competent - just young and relatively untrained. The second room is never as charming as the main room by the bar, especially vulnerable to neglect on a weekday night. Still, food like this is a good notch above most the of the competition in Columbia and the young staff is always very nice.

We have been going to Turn House and its predecessor for a few years now. Our last couple of visits prior to this one honestly weren't great, but after a bit of a break we decided to try it again and we are glad we did. The service, drinks and food at the bar were excellent. We will be returning.

Unfortunately didn’t actually eat our meal here. We waited over 20 minutes after being seated to be acknowledged by our waiter when he and our servers passed our table more than once. He did not apologize and almost seemed annoyed so we politely excused ourselves and walked out. It’s a shame the service has gone down hill, we’ve had good food here before.

We sat outside with our grandchildren, ages 6 and 8, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was nice that the children could run around on the grass as we waited for dinner. We had the Avocado Toast and the roasted brussel sprouts for appetizers. I would not recommend the Avocado Toast. Very difficult to cut/eat as the bread was well toasted. My husband and I each had a burger, which was excellent and the grandchildren ordered off the Children's menu, which was quite nice. Our server, Lisa, was excellent with the children. The manager stopped by our table to be certain that everything was to our liking. The restaurant has a nice menu of craft beers and specialty cocktails. Very nice neighborhood restaurant overlooking the golf course. Definitely a good place to dine.

We visited Turn House 8/31/19. Very unpleasant dining experience. It took a while to get seated and even longer for someone finally to show up after we enquired with other servers. After ordering our food we again had to wait and inquire several times about status of our order. Finally came the entree before the appetizer. We saw other servers were attending other tables, and they were just chatting and keeping themselves entertained but never taking care of customers. We were happy to leave after our meal. Would not go back again. Very disappointed since we were hoping it to be our nice dining option nearby.

This is our favorite place to hang out in Columbia. The venue is casual and spacious, the food is five star while still somehow pleasing the golfers making "the turn" to the back nine. The bar is excellent, the service is impeccable and friendly. We liked it so much we had our wedding on their patio!

My wife and I were treated excellently and exceedingly enjoyed our time. Our server was great and she had excellent recommendations. I'm really eager to return here and try more dishes!
The brussel sprouts were amazing and I might have to get it everytime it's on the menu.
Live music was a pleasant addition.

Very pleasaNT SURROUNDINGS OVERLOOKING A GOLF COURSE. GOOD SERVICE. FOOD IS HOWEVER MEDIOCRE DESPITE THE SOPHISTICATED MENU DESCRIPTIONS. OUR HAMBURGER WAS GOOD AND MEDIUM RARE AS ORDERED, BUT IT SEEMED MUCH SMALLER THAN EXPECTED. THE ACCOMPANYING HOUSE MADE CHIPS WERE A BIT STALE AND NOT CRISP. THE LOBSTER ROLL WAS SMALL, WELL SEASONED, BUT HEAVY ON CELERY AND OTHER VEGGIES. THE PROSECCO WAS PLEASANT AND A GOOD BUY FOR $5.00 A GLASS. THE REST OF THE FOOD HOWEVER SEEMED OVER PRICED.

Service seems to be spotty at the Turn House. The food is excellent but this is the third time I've been there and had horrible service (waiting 20 minutes with no server coming by, no opportunity to get a second club soda, etc.). I highly recommend the watermelon gazpacho at this time of year.

Our waiter wrote down our order and then disappeared. After a long wait we cornered a hostess to find out what was going on and she sent our waiter out who claimed to have no record of our order but re-took it. So, we arrived at 12:30 and didn't eat until 2. Where was the waiter during that long hour we waited? So, no, we won't be back until we manage to forget this experience.

Service was unbearably slow. Our server was also quite inexperienced. Long wait times, poor pacing and inexperienced servers has been a recurring problem each time we have eaten at Turn House. The manger did step up and make an accommodation for this meal. But long term I want Turn House to prosper and fix these service and kitchen issues.

Took my husband there for his birthday and noted this on the reservation. No mention of it by anyone during the evening. We arrived at 5:00 and were seated promptly. Service was slow and for the price point, I would expect the service personnel to show up in something other than jeans. I ordered a cosmopolitan martini which arrived room temperature and was incorrectly proportioned and lacking a key ingredient. It being restaurant week,we ordered off that menu, in addition to the sourdough bread appetizer. It took a long time for the bread to come out, and when it did it looked and tasted as though they ran to Giant and got a round of sourdough bread , cut off 4 slices, and stuck it in a basket with some butter. It was not warmed and was beyond the normal chewy for sourdough bread. Disappointing. The watermelon gazpacho was delicious and my husband enjoyed his peach salad. He said his steak frites was ok, very chewy, but tasty. My pasta was room temperature, rubbery and the sauce was bland, lukewarm and flavorless. With it being tomato season, this should have been a spectacular dish. We both ordered tiramisu for dessert. It was unremarkable, bland, dry and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for day. The prices are much too high for this level of mediocrity. If Turn House is trying to attract customers during Restaurant week, neither the menu, nor the quality of the food or drink is going to do it. Someone needs to be minding the store.

I booked this reservation for my Mom’s 70th birthday. When my parents checked in, they were told we’d receive a champagne toast to celebrate. The food was amazing as always, but service was incredibly slow. Our reservations were for 5:30pm, we arrived early, and didn’t leave until almost 8pm. We had small children with us, and the length of time it took for the food to come out was unacceptable. Food was served sporadically, and not at the same time. Our server would disappear, and take forever to return. My Mom’s birthday wasn’t acknowledged at all, either. We didn’t receive a champagne toast or a candle in her dessert. This is the second time in the past month visiting this restaurant when it wasn’t busy, and received sub-par service. I was really excited to take my Mom out for her 70th birthday, and highly recommend this restaurant. Super disappointed in the Turn House.

Beautiful place, beautiful setting, really good food, good prices. Service is okay--not much finesse. We sat outside at a table on a big porch overlooking the golf course, which normally would not have a lot of appeal, but it was beautiful and relaxing. We ordered a couple of "small plates," crab dip that was great and fantastic brisket nachos. The servings were VERY generous (not really small plates). We all ended up ordering salads with protein for dinner because the apps were so large. They make terrific sangria, too.

Typically would give a good review, tonite not so much. My favorite, the charcuterie, they stopped serving their delicious sesame crackers. The bread they used, in my opinion too heavy and don’t like the “char” on the bread. Their “new” item on the menu, crab and corn risotto was bland. No sauce and crab was more fishy than crabby. Since I was looking forward to dinner tonite, I was very disappointed. As well, our server was slow. Waited 20 min for the Charcuterie only to have our meal served shortly after. My husband also commented that his risotto was cold.
