Located in Northampton's historic Union Station, The Tunnel Bar is a nationally recognized martini lounge, known for its unique decor, extensive selection of award-winning martinis, and fine libations. Built in 1897, travelers once used the tunnel to board trains at Union Station for far-off destinations and adventures abroad. Today, the tunnel is home to purveyors of fine beverages and unique atmosphere, but all original stone and brickwork circa 1897, remains. This place was so loud you couldn't even have a conversation. Other people talking is one thing but stop cranking crappy music when the speakers are three feet away from your head.

This place has a unique atmosphere. It has its ups: great cocktails, comfy seating; good vibe. And it’s downs: very loud and I would appreciate some couch/ bench seating for two/three.

LOVE the place. I love sitting at the bar. Past visits the bartenders have been FABULOUS. For some reason, and it was NOT that crowded, the two bar tenders seemed "meh". For three of the four times we wanted something that evening, we had to flag one down. It was odd and unusual as normally the bartenders are right there and present.

Mediocre experience, drinks were ok but it was so loud and more claustrophobic than expected. Sort of like having drinks in a subway tunnel.
