The service was terrible, many items on the menu were not available early on a Friday evening. The restaurant is cute but thinks it's a club and is just as loud and had a dj. Would've been fun, if they had anything we wanted to order or didn't have to wait 45 minutes for a glass of wine
It was our first time here for dinner. It was Thanksgiving! We had a good time
Overall it was a nice experience, the service was great because our server was very polite and she was also very attentive. The only issue was we waited five minutes for someone to notice my husband and I and have us seated; our appetizers which consisted of a shrimp cocktail & cold cuts tray took thirty minutes to get to us. The variety of food is not great and the price for cocktails that are too sweet is steep. A fountain drink runs for $6 and Its a small cup in the restaurant, inside the theatre the price is also $6 but the cup is bigger so skip the fountain drinks at the restaurant.
Ambiance was great
Needs more variety of cheeses on the chac board. Was not given new silverware and had to take it from other tables. The dishes could be more creative
The ambience is great for after work drinks. The food however was underwhelming. I had a Margherita Pizza from the happy hour menu, and it tasted like reheated lunchables snack. So I would recommend going for the drinks and bypassing the food.
Worst food ever. Super dry and overcooked turkey burger, oysters took 25 minutes and when they came out they weren't even shucked off the shell! Friend also got an entree and she took one bit and sent it back, no offer to replace it or anything. Staff were very nice but whats the point if we can't even eat?
Place was cute and inside the theater. The food was good but overpriced. Service was terrible. We were ignored at first and then the server could not remember our order. They then tried to clear our table 4-5 times after we told them we were still working on the fries.
I visited The Tuck Room because I was going to a movie at iPics. The menu is not particularly large, but my party and I had a number of items. I personally ordered the Ruben Croquettes and the Baby Back Ribs. Both were quite tasty, although I was hoping for more heat from the mango/hanbañero ribs. I thought the Croquettes were excellent. They had a lovely, crisp exterior and the inside was a delicious bit of classic Ruben sandwich. I also was able to taste the stuffed avocado, which I enjoyed. However, it seemed we needed more chips with the dish to scoop up the mousse. Also, I have to praise the broad drink selection that is available. I did not partake of the wine list, but noted how extensive it is. There is also no shortage of options for local beers, which are listed on the menu with a notation of how many miles away they were brewed, beer cocktails, and liquor-based cocktails. My party and I had a nice dinner, and were able to get to our movie in time without any problems. I would return to The Tuck Room.
Only one - too - low air conditioning. Too cold. The service perfect, the food great and the view of the brookling bridge enchanting.
everything was great from the first greeting from the hostess until we left. we were greeted with a smile and seated almost immediately even though we were 15 minutes early for our reservation. The waiter was wonderful and very attentive. he was always close by and we never had to wait for anything. the appetizers and meals were absolutely awesome! the portion sizes were very large. we all left with a doggie bag !
i would definitely return to the Tuck room!! next time i will go see a movie too :) (it's in the IPIC theater!)
We asked to be moved from where we were first seated because of a very unpleasant odor. The hostess said the fish sauce in a dish ordered by another guest was especially strong-smelling that night. She promptly offered, and we accepted, to be moved to another table. We should have taken the clue that the food would be unsatisfactory from that exchange, but we persevered. The calamari appetizer appeared to be a well-sized portion, but it was an illusion of a layer of calamari covering a heap of coleslaw. Theq three crabcakes in another appetizer were at least seared on the top, with a cat food consistency below.
Overrated. Sounded good but was just ok. The restaurant was practically empty after 8pm. Location was a bit odd, above a cinima. Menu options were limited. Was disappointed
Vibe was cool came after concert but our Food was cold , didn’t complain maybe it was close to closing the kitchen for them but seems like a cool place for drinks.
Interior decoration was beautiful. Food was amazing. Server was also very nice, name was Tristan by the way!!
Ended up leaving after spending a half hour to get 2 drinks made. We had to order 3x and it wasn’t crowded.
The service at the bar was terrible. One place setting for 2 people, and the bartender was under informed about the menu and was unmotivated/seemed annoyed when we asked that he find out what oysters they had that day.
We were a small group sat at a table which are not suppose to get the prices for happy hour but the manager let us have the deal also. It was a great nite with friends, food and drinks.
Started at the bar for happy hour. Drinks were spot on. Friendly bartenders. Moved to a table for dinner. Our waiter was great but the place seemed short staffed. Food was good. Very convenient for Pier 17 at the seaport.
I can truly say I enjoyed myself. The food was remarkable. I had the pleasure of partaking in restaurant week. So I got to sample many options. Amazing to say the least. Our server Makayla was very attentive and amazing. She kept our glasses full and always came back to make sure we were okay or needed anything. The view was nothing but beautiful. We had the corner room and it was like we had our on section. The dj was on point. Playing a variety of tunes. Kept the vibe moving. I can't say anything bad about this place. Even the bathroom was great. I truly enjoyed my birthday celebration.
Great place and friendly service. Food was very good! We will be back again.
Had been meaning to try the Tuck Room since it opened. Finally made it for lunch. We sat at the bar which was very comfortable. Enjoyed the atmosphere/decor. Bartender/server was very attentive. It was restaurant week so we ordered from the set menu and we really enjoyed the food. Apps were a fried green tomato and mozzarella dish and an ahi tuna dish. Both were excellent and we were full before the main course arrive (Salmon) which we tasted and took to go (also delicious). The dessert combo was killer good - a molten chocolate cake and an ice cream creation - but we didn't realize it was not included - would have only ordered one which would have been more than enough for the two of us. The Tuck Room is fairly pricey. Not the place to go on a budget, especially if your having a few drinks, but I will definitely return.
Enjoyed dinner here with my girlfriend and her parents. Well thought-out menu, good drink and spirit selection, and cool ambiance.
Would recommend for evening drinks and apps.
Service and food was excellent..... I MADE THE TRIP THERE BY FERRY FROM ROCKAWAY QUEENS............. the pace is just a short walk from the ferry.
Wonderful restaurant. I highly recommend the mango habanero ribs. And the honey drenched cornbread left me speechless.
The staff is incredible. Everyone was likable, helpful and just plain old adorable. Very enjoyable.
Loved the service!! Need more appetizer choices. Sangria is to die for!!!
Awesome service. The decor is super cool and different. They played great old school hip hop. I really enjoyed that. We celebrated my birthday and they surprised me with a free chocolate lava cake. So yummy. The food was very good as well. We were there for restaurant week. I had the tuna appetizer which was soo good. Different twist on tuna tartar. The salmon was crisp and juicy. Ill be back for sure.
Unfortunately the food at tuck room wasn’t the best part of the experience. The viewof the Seaport and the eclectic nature of the bar and even the hidden function room are all top-notch. As was the service. However the brussels sprouts were incredibly bland and over cooked, the Tuna poke was not fresh and I don’t know what made the marrow burger worth $25 but the prices were not aligned to the flavor. The burger wasn’t even cooked as ordered.
Love it and I would go back again NYC Resturant week dinner is a Do again
The restaurant was great, service excellent. The food and staff very good. I want to aay thank you to our server Christopher he did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable.
HORRIBLE SERVICE !!!! We came with a group of 13 for my friend’s birthday celebration and had a reservation indicating it was a bday . We placed an order and it took over 45 mins to get our drinks . Drinks were watered down and down and some drinks came wrong so we had send it back .also , we ordered appetizers and they brought them out all at the same time as our entrees . Took forever and no one really came to fill our water . The food was average, c+
We came for a casual business lunch during Restaurant Week and were blown away. Our waitress Darcy was one of the greatest servers I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in a restaurant, and she was very friendly and well informed about the menu when my companion had questions. The food was superb and we got so much more dessert than we thought we would, which is a great way to end a lunch. While the view out the window is blocked by the East Side Highway, the street the restaurant is on is adorable even if the entrance is nonobvious from the outside. I cannot wait to go back with friends to enjoy more of the menu.
Amazing food. We went at lunchtime on Sunday so pretty quiet but will be back for an evening meal and drinks as it looks as though the vibe would be great when busier. Would recommend and will be bringing family/friends here when they visit.
We stopped in for Restaurant Week and boy are we glad we did! This is coming for a Southerner from Alabama but The Tuck Room has the best cornbread I’ve ever eaten, anywhere! The mango habanero sauce on the baby back ribs was incredible! It was a perfect night! Great atmosphere, great views. Will definitely go back when in NYC again!
Was surprised that the restaurant week menu was similar to last year’s. Could have tweaked it a little.
Had to pay for our desserts - on restaurant week!
Food portion is big which is a plus.
Sat down at 8pm on a rainy Saturday and ordered drinks. Took forever to come. At least mine did. My partner wanted a Cosmo. Came back after a while, no Cointreau. Ok, so she ordered a Sea Breeze. Came back with a Bay Breeze and after I told them what a Sea Breeze was they said they had no grapefruit juice. Strike two. I ordered ribs, which were way oversauced as the ribs themselves had no taste. Partner and son ordered burgers. She hated hers and couldn't eat it. My son said it was ok. Cornbread was doused with honey. Did not remove the cost of the burger from the bill. Not smart. $130+ for a pretty lousy meal. First and last time for the Tuck Room. Shame.
Good ambiance, very hip and in a part of town that is fun to visit by the water. The food was good but not outstanding. Price was a bit high for what it was. Great value on oysters though. Very cold because of a/c so ladies bring a vest or chawl! Waiters were very polite and inviting.
Love their Truffle fries and delicious burgers! Sevice is fantastic
The food and drinks were delicious. However the waiter was clearly overwhelmed. Had to ask repeatedly for water. Then he brought out 2 glasses and forgot about the class the the third person in our party. He did apologize at the end for having waited so long for water and drinks. We appreciated that he acknowledged that the service was lacking
I really can't leave a review for this place. It was just terrible. The food was low grade, the wine list consisted of grocery store brands marked up to absurd prices, and poor service. And to put a cherry on the evening, the lights went up at 10:45 like it was last call at a dive bar. Save your money and go somewhere else.
