Very friendly professional staff. Ate twice there this week each time the food was excellent. The beer Wainwright gold and Keswick bitter were very nice. For a hotel of such quality the prices were very reasonable, in fact cheaper than some other places in Cockermouth, and better food.

Lovely food as usual I had the half Maryport lobster it was delicious shell full of prawns with the lobster on top a fresh salad new potatoes and lemon mayo will definitely have it again if it’s available on the specials highly recommend it

Great dinner here on a Friday evening. Loved the specials choices eg. sea food spaghetti, braised oxtail. I had a fishermans salad which was excellent. The desserts were also good and I particularly enjoyed the panacotta with rhubarb,ginger and ice cream. Will definitely eat here again when we return to Cockermouth. Idyllically situated beside the river. Thought prices were realistic and the service was friendly and informative. Thanks for a memorable dinner. We’ll be back.

Beautiful setting right by the river, perfect for a special celebration. The hotel decor is smart and fresh. Food was very tastey and good value for money. Our waiter was very attentive and nothing was to much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

It was a very nice dining experience. Bistro style food, good quality and very enjoyable. The welcome from the staff was excellent and we were taken to our table which was very nice. Through out the evening the service was very good and the staff very attentive. The cost was acceptable and I would definitely recommend this venue for dining.

We come all the time and really love it here. There doesn’t seem to be the same feel about the place and it’s lacking atmosphere, maybe because the terrace is closed?? My main course I found very small for the price.
