Our heated outdoor decks provide a sensational dining experience with spectacular San Francisco bay views. Our outdoor deck is also dog friendly.
Inside is an incredible recipe of art and architecture, complemented with a resemblance of an old yacht. The ceiling mural was original to the Trident and painted by Dave Richards, creator of Janis Joplin’s infamous 1965 Porsche Cabriolet. On the outside deck, discover one of the most stunning restaurant waterfront views on the west coast, which boasts the skyline of San Francisco, Angel Island and Alcatraz. I would come back. It's a great casual restaurant with good food & amazing views.
Good seafoodand AMAZING views
If possible request a table outside
The atmosphere, service and location was amazing but the food failed to impress. For the price of it, it would taste better from a fish n chip shop! The desert was terrible! Derp fried bananas that were greasy and batter too thick! Too many nuts etc too!! Sad to say that, as I’m actually not too fussy!!
We had a wonder birthday dinner for two at 8pm on a Monday and it was like a private meal with an incredible view.
Highly recommend off peak nights.
Celebrated a friend’s birthday. We originally went for the views because the reviews caused some skepticism of the quality of food. Started out with calamari which came quickly and was DELICIOUS which motivated us to continue ordering main courses. I got the king salmon which was yum and he got the seafood linguini which we also enjoyed. We celebrated with a bottle of Vueve cliquot yellow label that the waiter was attentive to and we even got a free DELICIOUS birthday dessert. Highly recommend
Went here with my mother. Wow!
Gorgeous views, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious fish. Funky interior that hearkens to 70s, in a good way.
Will absolutely be coming back.
Salmon was not cooked fully on salad. Drive by wait service and $15 Valet parking for resturant patrons. Disappointing to say the lease. Generally a good lunch spot while on business trips but this time was my last visit. Not worth the $$$.
The view and ambiance were great. The staff was on point! Very nice. Food was ok, not great for the price BUT the view made up for it.
Great location!!! Amazing views and service
but food is definitely mediocre.
Excellent food and service! Where we sat was a little dark and the booths seats could be reshuffled but that amazing food and view made up for it no problem! The cocktails were excellently mixed as well.
Was so much better the last time. Service can make such a big difference in the experience
Worst service I have experienced in a long time. Waitperson was unavailable from Pre-ordering to receiving the check. I will never ever return to this restaurant. The food was good, but the delay in receiving same affected both quality and enjoyment. Forty minutes to be served our Main course, Thirty minutes to get a dessert menu, twenty minutes to get the check, and other tables seemed to be having the same sort of delays. The fellow that brought the wine was an old school restaurant man who was kind and most interesting who added some color to an otherwise dismal dining experience.
Arrived for my birthday dinner with reservation & told had to wait as no table ready! One busy waiter on deck, slow food arrival, promises to bring condiments and long wait!! The view extraordinary! Loved the crab cakes & Caesar salad pretty wet!
Food served in such darkness on deck, who knew what it was, even after low candles arrived!
Considering that we had a view of SF and their was a piano player seranading us, I would say that this was one of the most enjoyable evenings I have spent out in many months. We received excellent service from Will.
A friend had recently had the risotto dish and recommended it to me. Turns out this dish has different ingredients each night. I had it with lobster and was expecting it be over the top delicious. I found it to be quite bland. The amount and type of cheese can really elevate a risotto dish. I have no idea if there was even cheese in this dish. My friend had the sand dabs, with mashed potatoes and a wonderful mix of vegetables.
I quibble. We had a truly wonderful evening and will definitely be back!
Terrible food, made me sick
Good food. Wonderful waiter. Awesome music!
We were a table of 4 and seated immediately. I had clam chowder and crab cakes. The chowder was nice & creamy with more clams than potatoes, I could not eat the crab cakes. I ate one but it was like a hush puppy with spicy spread. I gave the remaining to my cousin. My friend had the chowder and an iceberg lettuce salad with bacon blue cheese dressing. She really enjoyed it My cousin had ceviche and a cesar salad and steamed mussels. His wife had the grilled salmon. The bread was delicious and plentiful. The bread bowl and butter were kept full without having to ask as were our water glasses. I will go back to try the halibut. I will limit my bread intake. They also had striped sea bass on the menu which sounded good. I just did not care for the crab cakes.
Risotto sehr lecker. Wein gut gekühlt
Loved it. Haven’t been in many years. Food is good, portions are generous, view is killer. Attentive service. Will be back.
The chef is marvelous ! The atmosphere is tranquil early in the evening. As the sun set, the views of SF Bay made a nice backdrop for a nice evening with friends at dinner. The service and standard of food, which is high, is good enough on its own without the historical value of The Trident.
Cousins from out of town. I brought them for the view and because on the you said you had wild salmon. Unfortunately, it did not say Wild on the menu but my cousin ordered it anyway. I hope I didn’t mislead him.
Our server: Stephanie was friendly & kept checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. There was live piano & flute music. Great view & food was delicious(chicken, salmon tartare, cioppino & clam chowder).
We sat outdoors near the heat lamps. We had a great view across the bay. We both had the halibut. DELISH! Service by Israel was fantastic.
Great music, great atmosphere, great service and great food!! A fun evening!
Great, fantastic service, best views ever. What more could you want. Oh and good music in the background too.
The Trident is a favorite stop of mine, which is why we use them on our food tour in Sausalito.
It was lovely to unwind Friday with my adult kids in a historic building on the water.
The Trident has a rich and colorful past, but the best part about it is the food. The wine list is equally
impressive. I ordered the fish special and it was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I had never dined with them for dinner before and will definitely return.
Gorgeous view, accommodating staff and delicious food...we will definitely return!
We love this place! Patio on the water allows beautiful views of the Bay and the San Francisco skyline when it isn't foggy! We have had Stephanie wait on us a couple of times since we've been here and she is fantastic! My husband is a big fan of Tuna Melts and the one they have on their menu on the weekend is the best he's ever had!
Hello. Overall, it was very good. We ordered a glass of wine to enjoy while choosing an entree, and it took almost 15 minutes until it came to the table. The entrees were excellent and the atmosphere and view of SF were awesome. We had the calamari appetizer which was fair. The rings were good, but the tendrils were chewy and undercooked. We grew up coming to Sausalito and haven't been to The Trident Restaurant in almost 30 years. It brought back very good memories for us and will definitely come again. Sorry for the constructive criticism, but I hope you are looking for honesty.
Seafood was excellent and prepared well. Awesome view of the bay and city from the outdoor seating. Price was a little high but expected for Sausalito.
Gorgeous setting gorgeous view!! Wait staff was warm and accommodating and the food was delicious- order the Caesar salad and the scallops.
Fantastic food, beautiful setting and gorgeous food. We loved it!
Found The Trident on our way from SFO to Sonoma. The wait staff were all very attentive and friendly. We asked for recommendations and decided to try the fish tacos. I order fish tacos a lot and these were by far the best I have ever had. The best quality fish (sea bass), fresh corn tortillas, huge chunks of avocado, and a wonderful light and refreshing slaw. A must try if you go to The Trident. We are planning to stop there on our way back this Friday!
We really enjoy our waiter, John. This was the sexy time he has waited on us and he is wonderful. Professional, yet friendly and warm. Thank you. We will be back.
View was awesome, Risotto was underwhelming, cole slaw was gross smelled like yesterday’s trash. Fish was good, hamburger was good. Not worth 5 star prices that’s for sure. Was on par with chili’s.. except cold slaw was gross...
Great view, great table, very good food. Very unusual waiter that must have been new, not the typical excellent service.
Set on the coast of Sausalito, it would be hard to find a better setting to enjoy a fine meal with a family. The menu is outstanding, the service was friendly and helpful, and the entire experience was relaxing and fun. They were not in a hurry to push us through, and if we had a second stomach we would have stayed for another supper.
Great location. A bit pricey for lunch but it was delicious.
My Sister lives in Denver so whenever she visits me in Benicia, we always drive to Sausalito for dinner at The Trident!
Really loved the food but our service was good but could be better. Our order was not communicated properly and we had to keep asking for our forever dish. But the food was excellent and so was the views! Would visit again!
