It was a nice place to have lunch in Sausalito. The restaurant was very accomodating and gave us a great table with a view even we arrived half an hour early for our reservation. The service was prompt and the food is pretty good for a tourist place like this. The chippino was above average. Of course everyone came for the view and it delivered. I would come back again if I am in the area.
Food was good not great and was overpriced in my opinion. We had better on our trip.
Get an outdoor patio table - view of the SF skyline is great!
Great place for a leisurely lunch with a beautiful waterfront view! The food was great, my eggs Benedict and Bloody Mary was perfect! The waiter was very accommodating to my slight changes of the order...all in all...a perfect lunch!
Great view, really good food and service. I was a bit confused by the valet parking, but other than that, we had a nice lunch with cocktails that were made just as requested and our server was attentive. I'd definitely take a client there again.
Brought our oldest granddaughter to California for wine tasting and San Francisco sightseeing for her 24th Birthday. On our way back to SF from Healdsburg we wanted a scenic spot for lunch. The Trident was an excellent choice. Although a bit cool the day we were there, we had bright sunshine on the deck and beautiful scenic views of the Bay, the City and Alcatraz. Excellent seafood dishes and personable attentive service. Valet parking was a plus for Sausalito. If we didn't live in eastern PA we would return soon and often.
Service was professional and attentive, and the food was excellent. We left our starter selections up to our server and he was spot on! I will recommend this venue to others and I will definitely return!
The dining experience is usually good here but recently I had an awful experience with the so-callled crab cakes. They were dry and tasteless with little crab and small to boot. Need to drop this from the menu. Other items from the menu are fine.
Haven't been here in "years" and was pleasantly pleased. Love the old funky ambiance. Our server was very nice and well informed and made great suggestions.
Our food choices were ~ Horseradish & Bacon Deviled eggs, which were OUTSTANDING and overflowing with crab. A true winner ! Next up the Fish Tacos, plentiful portion of 3 lovely tacos. My only issue with this was they were somewhat "bland" and "dry", no sauce of any sort was on the taco or provided on the side. Even though there was a reference to Chipotle Aioli and Avocado, I was hard pressed to find any of this. I did ask the server for "aioli sauce" on the side, which wasn't the best sauce I have ever had. Tortilla chips were just generic Trader Joe type on the side, nothing to write home about. This being said, I would go back, as other entrees looked FAB and were very plentiful.
Birthday. Everything excellent except the calamari in the Ciopino was tough/rubbery and lacked flavor
Our waiter knew his stuff about the food and was very pleasant. The whole staff was friendly and upbeat.
I can’t say how delicious the Cioppino is. All I can say is that I’ve had a numerous seafood dishes in my time and that was the best I’ve had. It was chock full of mussels, clams, salmon and a half a crab and the broth and vegetables were outstanding. The vegetables were just right which can be tough with a disk like this. The crab was much better than I had at a close by crab house the night before. I can’t say enough, that dish is OUTSTANDING.
The seafood tacos were also very good. Can’t beat the view either.
Just a nice experience. Sat by window as requested. Food was served not too fast or slow. Our server was so pleasant. The view was extraordinary.
Date night with my GF. Food was great but for the price, I expected a little bit more from it. I ordered the special for that night which is their halibut. Perfectly cooked but lacking on the sauce and portion. GF ordered the salmon and lacks a little bit of sauce. View from the balcony is perfect for date night and pretty warm as well considering how cold it was that night.
Great service as well.
The food was good; better than I expected. The waiter hovered a little too much around my son's girlfriend, probably due to somewhat low cut blouse. Too obvious to me. On the sorta negative side, the coffee was tepid and the bread seemed like it was a day old. The cocktails were ok, as was the wine. I had only the cocktail and water, others had wine, with no complaints
Great place to celebrate a special occassion
V day dinner with my girls. A little surprised at the food quality vs price. Good service but need a better chef.
Great location on the water. Great food. This place is really cool inside or out. Totally recommend for all occasions.
Our waiter ran outside to catch us to tell us we “overtipped” him! We hadn’t seen the automatic 20% tip since there were 6 of us. Super honest, love that he did that.
I was told by trident by mail they have happy hours 4-7 OM but when I was there at 5 30 I was denied any happy hours
Expensive for what you get. Ingredients not fresh. Reminds me of food you would get at a restaurant at a U.S. national park. Drinks expensive $15/cocktail - hefty in size, but not innovative or tasty. Went on a Saturday when they had an entertainer sitting at a keyboard singing. It was very loud, so difficult to have a conversation. The Trident heavily relys on their location and history for business. They appear not interested in providing better food or drinks then when it was called Horizons. I wouldn't have known that it was under a new name/ownership?
Great food outstanding service. A must go for anyone who loves a good meal.
The hostess and waiter really went out of the way to assure a special evening for our mother’s 88th birthday dinner. She had a view of the City, great jazz music, and delicious sea scallop dinner. We were all so happy with everything!
I think this was the 7th visit to the restaurant so we do like it. For a little disappointing this time. All those who had French Fries they were all cold. Still we had a great afternoon. Loved the Espresso Martini's !
Food was good. Views are unbelievable! The staff was very accommodating.
I didn’t like my ribs
We came for the local dungeness crab and it did not disappoint. However, when we booked a 3:45pm reservation on Open Table and when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told we would have to wait for 45 min. Another woman at the restaurant said she had a 2pm reservation and did wait for 45 min to be seated. So we went for a walk but then 10 min later, were called back to be seated. We had a nice table by the window with a great view. Despite being not so crowded, the service was rather slow and the waiter not very attentive. Thankfully, the dungeness crab was so delicious that it made everything worth it. Don't think we would come back on a crowded day though.
The hostess went out of her way to make sure we got a great table, even though we were really early for our reservation. She checked in throughout the night and made sure we were completely taken care of. The dinner was great and the lava cake was fantastic!!
The staff and service were great. The food wasn't great.
The Trident is incredibly charming. An homage to the Marin of the 60s and 70s without being kitschy. The view of San Francisco is, unless it’s foggy, sublime. Our server Mike was congenial, unobtrusive, always exactly on time with food, drinks, and refills, and added to the experience. The food is probably second tier for a city like San Francisco. The trident is unlikely to win a Michelin Star but only because seafood and American classics aren’t cutting edge, not because the execution is in any way off. The char on the items in my ciopinno was flawless. The calimari fried with jalapeño appetizer might be the best execution of that ubiquitous dish I’ve had in years.
Enjoyed all of our seafood and pasta dishes. Service was excellent, and they treated our birthday girl well. Valet parking was expensive. We will come in warmer weather next time and enjoy eating on the outside deck. Definitely recommend
The Cioppino was amazing and the garlic bread was awesome
Overall a great experience with the service and food and the price was reasonable. I would return and recommend this restaurant to others
Great New Year’s location!
Love this place! We finally tried it a few months ago and had to come back. Spent New Years Eve and it was perfect. The Salmon was great. We will be back.
The Trident never disappoints - A "Must" stop for friends and family visitors. Lovely View, Lovely Food, Lovely Service!
Trident is our family choice for a dinner during Christmas Holiday. Seafood across the board is excellent, but the Crab, my grandchildren's favorite and their special treat, are better than excellent. We sit at a round table, look out over the bay, talk, laugh, and have a wonderful time. Service is friendly.
Excellent location, always my favorite out of the city place.
Fabulous table by the window, delicious food and excellent service. Delicious Caesar salad...good split for two...excellent scallops and sole. We’ll be back!
My daughters birthday
the Trident took Christmas reservations , then decided to close a week before
very very difficult then , to find a place to go
I am happy they had the day with family and friends but it was inconsiderate of customers to make a decision that late
beware at christmas!
