The Trident is incredibly charming. An homage to the Marin of the 60s and 70s without being kitschy. The view of San Francisco is, unless it’s foggy, sublime. Our server Mike was congenial, unobtrusive, always exactly on time with food, drinks, and refills, and added to the experience. The food is probably second tier for a city like San Francisco. The trident is unlikely to win a Michelin Star but only because seafood and American classics aren’t cutting edge, not because the execution is in any way off. The char on the items in my ciopinno was flawless. The calimari fried with jalapeño appetizer might be the best execution of that ubiquitous dish I’ve had in years.

Enjoyed all of our seafood and pasta dishes. Service was excellent, and they treated our birthday girl well. Valet parking was expensive. We will come in warmer weather next time and enjoy eating on the outside deck. Definitely recommend

Love this place! We finally tried it a few months ago and had to come back. Spent New Years Eve and it was perfect. The Salmon was great. We will be back.

Trident is our family choice for a dinner during Christmas Holiday. Seafood across the board is excellent, but the Crab, my grandchildren's favorite and their special treat, are better than excellent. We sit at a round table, look out over the bay, talk, laugh, and have a wonderful time. Service is friendly.

Disappointed. Wow. Finally decided to try this place, surprised my boyfriend with and expensive Christmas Eve dinner and it fell flat. The food was mediocre at best and the service was lacking. Dry steak, over cooked calamari, toug prime rib. What a bummer.

There are a few cozy tables, but most are in the thick of things, where the noise level is so much that conversation is difficult. We still enjoyed our evening very much.

We found the food was good, but service very slow. We were going to order desserts, but got tired of waiting for the wait person and figured after ordering it would be too long before receiving the dessert.

The Trident is located on the water in Sausalito with a magnificent view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. This restaurant is a Bay Area staple. The service was very good and the food was tasty. It's not the most trendy restaurant, but it's a good meal with an amazing view.

It’s my favorite place to bring out of town business guests for lunch as well as my Holiday Tradition of watching the annual Sausalito Christmas Lighted Boated Parade. Food and service is the best, although highly over priced for not getting the Special course menu for the special evening. Plus you have to pay a lot for valet parking, unlike The Buckeye, Marin Joe’s and other fine establishments that do not charge their guests. This is why I go here in very limited times.

Atmosphere is very nice and the views are breathtaking. Beautiful setting.
My guest ordered the halibut special and presentation and flavor were fantastic. I ordered the scallops with specific directions for them to be cooked well done for medical reasons. The entree arrived and scallops barely cooked. I sent them back and requested further cooking. They were returned to me nearly burnt and the lentils and squash under them were cold. By this time my guest had finished dinner so I chose not to send my entree back a second time. It certainly was a waste of $30.

Great ambiance, we sat on the deck right on the water and it was beautiful. The food, however was very disappointing. I might return but probably just for drinks. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. A shame the food wasn’t good.

Thanksgiving dinner with friends. We arrived earlier than expected but still got a nice seat with a view on the bay / San Francisco. Food was great with many options - unlike other restaurants at Thanksgiving. We will come back!

The Trident is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, mainly because of its fantastic view overlooking the bay. Unless it's raining, we sit outside on their wonderful deck. This last occasion was Thanksgiving, and my husband and I chose to break with tradition and not have turkey. Instead, I had the petite fillet and my husband had prime rib. Both dishes were fantastic; flavorful without being overpowered with herbs, extremely tender, and just-right portion size. The only negative was the long period of time it took to get a basket of bread. We asked multiple times and had been served our entrees before it came. The waiter let us know it had just been baked, and it was indeed warm. If we had known right away that a batch was about to be pulled from the oven, the delay would have been more understandable. All in all, though, this meal rates four stars, as does the ambiance.

As usual, I had a lovely lunch with my friend. The wait staff are attentive and accommodating. Trident has an unbelievable view affording all the patrons a sweeping view of the Bay and the bridges - absolutely wonderful ambiance. I love the variety in the menu and I'm never disappointed when I try something new. Thank you, Trident. Appreciate your service.

We loved the food, but our friend that was with us had a bad experience. She is vegetarian and ordered a dish without bacon. It came to the table with bacon and was sent back. She did not get a new dish in a timely manner and the rest of us were done with our meals before hers even arrived. Our waiter did not even try to make it up to her by offering her a salad or something she could eat while she waited. It was a disappointment because it was a special occasion for all of us. I am a server in a catering company, and the service we had was unacceptable.
