The Trent Lock

Pleasant staff, nice atmosphere, lovely location, good speed of service, and decent food. Had a really nice meal. (Been a couple of times before and always enjoyed.)

Food was excellent quality. The only server did a fabulous job. Could of done with someone to help. It was a full cover.
Will I return....for sure.

Sat us outside the restaurant as problem with the booking on open table - waited over 45 mins for food delivery. Ordered drinks and didn’t arrive. 2 items not available on the menu we wanted and waited until we ordered to tell us rather than when we were seated. Such a shame as normally have a good experience on open table. Waiting for my 100 points on here too.

Certainly good for Sunday lunch. Generous portions even for a hungry teenager. Friendly service. Pleasant location

Restaurant claims it does not use Opentable despite me booking via a link from their own website. No record of our booking and manager on shift was not helpful or apologetic at all! Glad we ended up going elsewhere though as 70 minute wait for food!

Staff very young inexperienced.Waited 20 minutes for menu.Had to chase up the drinks.Main meals came after 75 minutes but not altogether.

Food was high quality but the restaurant didn’t get our booking. The manager sorted it so it wasn’t an issue and we had a lovely experience.

Great food Good service Nice ambience Planned Sunday lunch for Xmas Eve and Trent Lock is so convenient for us as we only live along the road. We have been many times mainly for the reasons stated at the start of this review.

Having quite high hopes for this restaurant we were so disappointed! The service was great and the waitress lovely, however the space was a bit dark and cold and the food was pretty awful. The fish and chips were re-fried and the scraping from the bottom of the chip pan dished out, my partners steak was ordered medium and practically blue inside

Only problem make sure the bill is right. 3 times had to send it back. Check receipt a specially if you have the 3 course meal for 20 pounds

Great food, really nice place inside and its position by the canal is perfect in summer. Service was a little slow but it seemed new staff were being trained. Will certainly be back.

The Trent Lock staff were attentive without being intrusive, very helpful and improved the ambience of the eating experience.
The food was good and well arranged, enjoyable and tasty, the drink was also very good.
I will return for a meal and when mentioned to friends they also said the had a good experience there.

We booked a table for six adults, the oldest was 91 and it was to celebrate a birthday. As it was a Monday I was able to use my gourmet card. We all had three courses and the food was varied and quite delicious. The bar was warm, stocked an excellent range of gin and the service was excellent, a quite charming young man looked after us very well.
I have no hesitation in recommending this venue and will return often. My steak was cooked to perfection which doesn't happen very often!
