The Tree Steakhouse
Excellent service & food. Can’t wait to see the upcoming renovations!
Was the best steak and au gratin potatoes I have ever had!! Yummy.
Evening out with wife.
This was a great recommendation from a friend. Can't wait to go back.
Great service, very nice host and the food was great
Excellent bar service from John and fantastic waitress service from Amanda! Food was perfect.
Excellent service, presentation and quality of food. The Chefs delivery was spot on. We were skeptical after reading the reviews, however, soon realized this restaurant is on par with steak houses of the caliber and expected costs similar to this establishment. We have already planned our next visit and are regretful we let other people’s opinions influence us. Once the renovations are complete this is going to be our regular date night for sure! It's been years since I last came to The Tree and the food was just as good as I remembered. My wife likes her steak "pittsburgh rare" and few steakhouses in the city have made it the way she likes it, but Tree nailed it. The lobster bisque was really good. The sides were larger than the price indicated they may come and they had really good drink specials for the night. Half priced bottle of wine on Thursday which was a welcome surprise.
The prices are extremely high. However, the steaks are the best as is the asparagus. Service is always good.
Some pretty noisy diners next to us but food is always great
Service was polite but very impersonal. Restaurant was virtually empty. Food was ok. Steaks were slightly over cooked. I had fish and it was a very small portion and very over cooked. Creamed corn was not good.
From the previous owner to the new owner, we have decided never to go back. The service was fair and the food was horrible. It was the driest steak I’ve ever eaten. I wish the new owners luck but at the rate they’re going to that restaurant will be closed within six months
We haven't been to The Tree in over 10 years. We were very happy with our experience this past Saturday night. Our server, Laine, was very attentive. The a-la-carte menu was very nice. I had prime rib and my wife had filet, both were fantastic. We will be back!
The steaks we had were fantastic! Perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned! Really allowed the flavor of the meat to shine! We also had the fried calamari, risotto, buttermilk pie and chocolate torte. All we good! Nothing fantastic about them. Seemed more like top quality prepackaged food, not in house made. It all tasted good, just nothing special about it. If you want a good cooked steak this is the place. Just don't expect excellence in any thing else.
Food was nothing out of this world. Preparations were greasy. Hostess wearing clothing that was terribly inappropriate. Temperature of restaurant freezing although they did turn up the heat after several complaints. Glass window where you can watch cook, without gloves, but plenty of hair and body scratches, prepare steaks. It was not the most sanitary. Decor was dated and uneven. We had our first and only experience.
The steaks were cooked perfectly... Absolutely evenly throughout. My husband and I both ordered or steaks Pittsburghed, which is traditionally rare, and they were excellent. Also, the tomato salad, grilled asparagus, and scalloped potatoes were excellent.
Amazing food, informative service, and the giant oak trees outside make for a beautiful setting!
Great food and Robbie is the best!
Update the interior, the menu both for the wine and food is outstanding. Service was very knowledgable. The inside looks like a buffet restaurant.
My Filet was cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing! My husband had a filet topped with shrimp and scallops, he raved for the next week about how great the scallops tasted. Great service!
This place was built with me in mind. Great cuts of meat, cook perfectly and the side were astounding as well. The decor was ok. The music was good. I felt that I wasn’t pressured to wear a tie and dress shoes and was treated just the same. Our server was very knowledgeable as we asked about items on the menu. Google maps took us adjacent to the shopping center it is located in. But we found it within a couple minutes. We will returning.
Good upscale steak house, definitely get the bread pudding for dessert.
Sandra our server was wonderful. The food was delicious. Cocktails were phenomenal. Decor was lovely. It lived up to all the hype. We will definitely be back.
One Steak was cooked wrong and when we sent it the general manager came out and told us maybe we should order it d
The quality of food, and presentation was not even close to what I would expect a $50 plate to be. Steak was good, shrimp was undercooked. It took 15 minutes to get any bread. I went on Valentine's Day, and I feel like I wasted the night. I won't be back.
The steak was awesome, the server was great and overall it was an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner!
Valentine’s Day dinner. Overall a really great place.
my husband and I go here for our anniversary and Valentines Day every year. It never disappointments. Great food, nice selection of wines and the service is always wonderful
The customer service and the food was great! Our waitress was courteous and very friendly.
the Bread was frozen bread from the supermarket and the steak had way too much salt. The Caesar salad barely had any dressing and the price for the meal was way to high.
The restaurant and service was excellent! Food was prompt, but then it seemed like a slow night.
The happy hour situation was a little confusing as it only pertains to the lounge where the bar is, NOT the tables. The bartender DID honor the happy hour price in light of the confusion, which made me happy, so I made sure to tip him extra.
Just something to keep in mind before going, otherwise we had a great experience! Will DEFINITELY go back!
This was our first visit. It was blah. Average food. Not a restaurant I will recommend.
Red neck Ruth’s Chris .
Great steaks, sides, desserts, service, wine. Reasonable prices !!!
This is my favorite dinner out. The staff could not be nicer and are always ready to make every visit special.
This was not the same Tree House quality from many years ago, I was disappointed, all aspects were okay but not memorable!
Great job with everything !!! Warm welcome upon our arrival ! Great bartenders and waitress! Delicious food and great selection of wines! I love it !
Love the tree. Would like to see the piano bar back open though.
We had friends with us and it was their first experience at The Tree ... they loved it !
Our waitress, Kristin (?) ... first name started with "K", was excellent ...
Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our steaks were not cooked to our liking - some under cooked, others over cooked- yet the flavor was delicious. I would say on the average side of price compared to other steakhouses.
We had not been in a while. The bar area remains cozy and old school charming. The restaurant has become too expensive for what you get at the suburban location. $35+ for a steak with no sides, no steak sauces, no salad etc is too much for neighborhood and the experience (while admittedly a well cooked rather thin steak) does not rise to the level of The Capital Grille or Ruths Chris for instance but the price is similar. Not much interesting alternative for a lesser priced entree (Scallop risotto $38). Salads are expensive too. Remodel is nice but now there are no tablecloths and remains brightly lit. Garnishes were unattractive - (a clump of shredded lettuce and a radish slice). Recommend Oak Bar - its fun with a neighborhood vibe. Bar has a separate menu
