We arrived down in Dundalk for 2 nights and were excited to try the food and bar here! Unaware of the true extent of the souths reaction to covid-19 as well as ever changing closures etc, i checked facebook and your website and there was no information to state the closing of this restaurant on Sunday 15th March! Therefore i booked and as we arrived the doors were shut and lights were off at 8pm, i checked facebook again and still nothing! However now it appears it is still open for take out at least! Luckily our taxi driver waited and took us else where. The fact we were still able to book a table on open table was ridiculous when in fact you were closed!

Fabulous food, great service and overall a really enjoyable meal. Always well looked after in the townhouse. Cannot fault anything.

Cold and uncomfortable. The first table we were offered, required 3 guests to sit on a cramped couch that was much to low to for comfortable dining. They are all over 6ft tall and the table was chest level. We explained the problem and were offered another table upstairs which was described as comfortable and cosy and was anything but. It was too cold to take your coat off. Other guest seemed to be suffering also. One lady tried putting her coat in the window to stop the draft but reverted to putting it over her knees. Another couple tried stoking the fire and declared they would not be returning. Another table of 4 left shortly after receiving the menus. The staff made several attempts to switch on a heater unit but failed. I fear management left them to deal with the issues and stayed well clear of the problem. It was obvious that there was a party which I assume was in a more comfortable area down stairs. The upstairs was not suitable and bookings should not have been taken for this area. Regardless of the temperature it lacked ambience. Tables and seating were poor standard. There was no candles or table cloths despite the fact that the menu was extensive and priced to suggest a higher standard of dining. The food was ok but not good enough to justify its price tag. Presentation was very average. We were celebrating a special family occasion and the standard of the restaurant became the main topic of conversation which was very disappointing. I don't usually write reviews because I prefer to say positive things or nothing at all. I made an exception for The Town House in the hope it saves others from the same experience. It may also encourage the venue to improve its standards.

Everything was 1st class as always ...the food,the service, the atmosphere ...this is definitely my favourite place to dine out in town.

We went to the townhouse on Saturday night ,for our wedding anniversary.the food was amazing,and the dessert was to die for.we were really happy that we choose the townhouse.the service was really good and the waiters were very pleasant.it was so good that I was telling all the women in the steam room in fields this morning,how good the food was.we'll definitely be back
