The Tipsy Pig is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Great for a dinner date, out with a group of friends, or even for a quick dinner watching a game at the bar. Highly recommend the fish tacos or enchiladas for dinner- for lunch, my go-to is the crispy chicken sando- for brunch, the huevos rancheros with a Strawberry Fields cocktail will brighten up any weekend! Oh, and don't leave without having some tater tots.
The place was extremely noisy. The two of us were seated next to a table of 6 people several of whom were screaming and screeching so loudly that our ears literally hurt. We asked to be moved and our server immediately accommodated us to a nearby table. Shortly thereafter the manager reprimanded the noisy patrons and told them their behavior was unacceptable. This was a huge help. The chicken pot pie was delicious and the service was first rate.
Came here with some friends. Were able to hit the happy hour menu which slashed the prices in half (5:30-6:30). Started with the unassuming bagel bites with cheese dipping sauce! We coulda just ate that and went home! Had the popcorn shrimp. it was lightly bartered with an excellent aoli dipping sauce. Our entrees included the bacon Mac and Cheese. It came in its own small cast iron skillet with perfectly toasted bread crumb topping. I had the fried chicken. At first I was skeptical cuz it was boneless and boneless fried chicken usually ends up dry. I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was melt in your mouth delicious and flavor was on point. We also had buratta and prosciutto with toast points. Very nice and light. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Top that with a half price bottle of Cab Franc ($22) and a jalapeño infused margarita and we can call that almost a perfect meal!!!
A very small flaw, they only offer their famous Bloody Mary on the weekends and I was looking forward to trying it.
Stopped here for dinner one night with my girlfriend for dinner while visiting San Francisco. I think it was our favourite meal out of the whole trip. Great food, awesome service and good wine. What more could you want? From the moment we walked in the staff were helpful and friendly, and I could not recommend this place more!
I am a Tennessee-born gal and love Tennessee BBQ..they state they had ribs as good as any Memphis BBQ place ... and they do! Delicious and the meat fell off the bones! Great spot for lunch and/or dinner. Very busy place! Our water sitter us in a quieter location but if you love to party and love crowds, this would be a great spot!
The Tipsy Pig looks like just a bar, but the food is really very good. We tried the popcorn shrimp, and the spicy ahi tuna (Hawaiian poke) for appetizers. Both were great, but the ahi tuna was one of the best we have ever tasted. For entrees we tried the fried chicken and the mini sliders. Both were great. The price on a number of appetizers is reduced for Happy Hour, not just in the bar but also in the restaurant. Wine is half price Mondays through Thursdays. All in, a great restaurant.
Drink options were plenty. However, food options not much. I was hungry, but didn't really want anything on the menu. So just ordered the Mac n cheese whicch I only ate half (Bc there's was too much crumbs on top). The Tuna tartar was good. Great place to have drinks with friends, watch sports, and hang out.
To start, my wife and I had a Spicy Mary and the Hibiscus Spritzer, both are great brunch cocktails. Then our best decision was starting with the sticky buns...oh my god, they are one of the best things we've ever tasted. Our egg scramble and Benedict were great too! We even told our waitress we needed to be out at a certain time and we could tell she hustled for us. Perfect brunch spot!
SF has hundreds of top flight restaurants but I try to seek out neighborhood gems, gastropubs and local spots. Tipsy Pig fit all that criteria so I booked a reservation for last night (Saturday). Parking was challenging but I stumbled upon a parking garage just steps from the restaurant (corner of Pierce and Chestnut), $6 for 2 hours. Great deal!
5:30 reservation and the hostesses greated us warmly, we were seated immediately. Nice decor but the acoustics are terrible. No music was playing but a few people were having such loud conversations, it was deafening. My wife was sitting 3 feet from me and we had to shout to hear each other.
Service was solid, the young lady was professional and attentive. The staff work well as a team as a variety of people delivered our food and took our plates.
The Mahi Ceviche appetizer was terrific. Bread rolls (sourdough?) were warm and tasty. My wife had the enchiladas and loved them. I had the Tipsy Burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Carmelized onions, quality roll, bacon...
It may sound silly to give props for french fries but these were truly exceptional. I have a feeling they prepare them the real way and fry them twice. Once to cook, then again at a higher temp to crisp.
Beer and wine selections weren't outstanding, but they offered good quality at reasonable prices.
Dessert menu looked awfully inviting, especially the homemeade donut holes. But we were very comfortable with our shared appetizer and two meals.
I would highly recomment the place if you are looking for tasty food in a fun, boisterous atmosphere. If you're looking for a quiet date night, this may not be the place.

Been here many times; brunch, happy hour, dinner and drinks. I have always had a good time and the food has always been great. Service was great and friendly. This time I had the tacos for dinner and wasn't that impressed. It's a bit hard finding gluten free options and thought I'd try something different. It was pretty busy so it could've been an off day. The salad was delicious as aways and my friend really liked the mini burgers. Happy hour is great! Nice patio in the back to enjoy on a warm day.
This was our second visit, and the food was as good as the first time. We over-ordered the first time when it was just the two of us, but we brought friends this time to help with that problem. Brussels are amazing. Mac and cheese is pretty good as well. I would skip the enchiladas. They're not bad at all, they just weren't as good as the other items we ordered.
A LOT of people there. So glad I could make a reservation online. The food though is amazing. Homemade sauces and just spectacular presentation. Its a must go and even the wait I heard wasn't too bad. The service there is on spot as well. There was always someone swinging around asking how our food is or to refill drinks. The drink prices for like, beer, is pretty decent as well. So much to choose from, beer, cocktails, wine, ect.
This little piggy knows how to cook! Just count the ways you can incorporate the meat of the swine into wonderfully creative dishes. Sometimes it's subtle, other times it's ribs or a chop. Let's face it, everything's better with bacon, but these guys go beyond that. And with a 1/2-price bottle of wine (Tuesday), how can you go wrong?!
