Very comfortable place. Had the popcorn shrimp with the jalapeños and andouille sausage. Also had the popovers with the cheese dipping sauce. Both items were good.
Easy parking on Pierce Street with a short walk to the restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Excellent portions and flavors!
High energy and fun place! Our server was really cool (and said he also was a manager). He suggested we could easily share family style which is always fun since you get to try more items. The chicken pot pie and ahi tuna tartare were good.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, good service!
Overall, Tipsy Pig was a very enjoyable experience! A little over-priced but fantastic service and yummy drinks! I wish outside seating was not first come first serve/seat yourself.
Fun drinks spot, could be more posh and less fraternity like
Great meal, great staff
Great food. Tasty cocktails.
Let me start with, it’s a bar with a side dinner area. However the food was excellent! We went for happy hour and got a burger and pretzel bites and Mac n cheese and the bill was $50 including tip 25%.
They went above and beyond to accommodate us, to giving us a low table to accommodate my left ankle being in a boot. They also went and go plastic silverware since I’m allergic to the 18/10 silverware! I was extremely impressed.
Kind of made the mistake of booking a reservation for St. Patty’s Day. We had to ask to be moved to a quieter table away from the bar since it was like a frat party. Food was good, as always as were the drinks. Our waiter was friendly and attentive even on a very busy night. Good place to hang out with friends, but not so good on St. Patty’s Day.
Lively ambiance in a Friday evening. Service was prompt and efficient. Menu is limited, mostly bar bites. We tried the fish tacos, chicken tacos and ribs and all were excellent.
Went to the Tipsy Pig on a date with my wife. Overall we were satisfied and everything was pretty good. We ordered the "pretzel bites" and were disappointed. They were little round biscuits that tasted like Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, only without the cheddar and somehow worse tasting (and didn't taste anywhere close to a pretzel!) Overall that appetizer was a 2/10 in our book. I would recommend removing that item from the menu.
Outside of that, everything else was great. We will probably go again sometime and definitely skip the pretzel bites!
The service is always great, everyone is very friendly.
The best service in the City.
This is more of a scene for the 20somethings brunch (i.e., drinking), but we were two couples there with our 10-11 year old sons. But we were fortunate to get a big table outside as the inside is quite noisy. Everyone was happy with their food - except the "La tostada" which is more of a salad (not clear on menu). My goat cheese egg scramble (pictured) was really good (I'd go back for it)--had prosciutto and brussels sprouts, and my son liked his burger - so there is something for everyone (biscuits were good too). I think tables outside are first come first served. It was a chilly day and they had heat lamps on (which we were right next too)- didn't really need them as the outdoor space is well shielded - i was actually hot. Nice to be outdoors as there are so few places where you can do that in SF. Pleasantly surprised as I'd avoided this place for years thinking it wasn't really suitable for families....definitely make a reservation as this place was PACKED at 12:30 on a sunday
wine by the glass was kind of pricey. Beet salad was very good. Beans in pot pie could've been cooked more but it was good.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by the hostess and directed to our table.
This table was for two with seating across from each other.
I enjoy sitting next to my wife and asked if we could move to tables together.
The dining room had 2 tables occupied and 15 available.
She was puzzled and unsure as to how to make this happen.
She finally accepted my request.
The food was great.
The service was attentive and sincere.
After dinner we spoke with the GM Julio and shared our experience.
He listened and understood our concerns.
It is great to see Julio wants what is best for all.
Excellent Job Julio we will be back.
Amazing happy hour deals!!! Food was terrific. Highly recommend
Neighborhood Good. Comfortable. Solid service. All upside.
We arrived to an essentially empty restaurant at 11--and left to a lines-out-the-door restaurant 90 minutes later. Because of our sight lines, we had no idea that a crowd had formed. Otherwise, we would have settled our bill and left 20 minutes earlier. To the staff's credit, there was no notion whatsoever that we needed to move it along so that other diners could be seated. That speaks well of the restaurant's attitude, which certainly sets the standard for any eatery.
As for the food, both plates were well presented, cooked to order, and very tasty. We had no problem with conversing with each other, as plate after plate was carted past up. Well-done, Tipsy Pig.
Note for potential diners: I wouldn't count on showing up without a reservation at Sunday brunch hour.
This was my first time to the Tipsy Pig- we were seeing a show down the street. We all found this restaurant to be a great spot for us. Our server was very attentive and friendly.
I will go back!
Great energy...staff and customers where happy, fun and just an overall good vibe.
Food was wonderful! We had tacos. Mac and cheese and the salads- great neighborhood and definitely try the Strawberry Fields and Old Pal cocktails.
Fantastic food, great service! Best chicken tenders and tater tots off the kid menu for our little one that we've ever experienced. I had the carnitas, my husband had the enchiladas, and our niece had the pot pie. All the dishes were fabulous. Wish we lived in SF so we could come again next week! :)
It was crowded in the bar area and we were given a table next to the bar. A bar patron rudely placed his empty beer bottle on our table to start off our dinner; not a good first impression/experience of this restaurant. I will not come back.
Get the pretzel bites! Everything was incredible.
Great restaurant in the Marina District, where the locals go. Great food and service.
Keep in mind that this is a bar/pub setting with a fun menu that is extreme comfort food to say the least !!!
Trust me when I say they have something for everyone . . . from guacamole, ceviche, Brussel sprouts, popcorn shrimp, fish tacos, baby back ribs, fried chicken, enchiladas, mac & cheese, Caesar salad . . . the list goes on and on and on.
We enjoyed The Tipsy Burger = Niman Ranch ground beef, White cheddar, caramelized onion, little gems and tomato on a pain de mie bun ($16).
Get the crunchy tater tots (piggy style) no joke . . . Sooo good, it’s like being 4 years old all over again.
Yes, we did an hour of cardio the next morning (to help ourselves mentally) but we’re still alive to report about it and it was well worth it - LOL
Good happy hour deals with half off wine. Wish they had some healthier food options, but it is a bar.
Arrived a little early before a friends brunch so we went to the bar. The Mary Pig had a very spicy kick to it--should have gone with the Strawberry Fields. Really enjoyed the eggs benedict and black pepper-candied bacon. Overall, really cool place with accommodating service and will definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu.
We had a great dinner at the Tipsy Pig. Tried the popcorn shrimp and the pretzel bites from the happy hour menu and they were great. We also tried the spicy tuna poke and the burger and both were excellent. Didn't have room for dessert, but the apple pie and chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream both looked tempting. Our waitress, Holli, was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back.
Such a great experience. It was cold but the outside experience was great.
Outstanding meal with excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting San Fran.
Could be loud and not for babies but the owner/manager and the lady serving us were kind enough to make sure we’re comfortable as well as our baby.
I made reservations since it was New Year's Eve. I also had to change it which I left a couple voicemail. OpenTable app wouldn't let me change it. Oh well! I had to add one person. There was only 3 of us but they automatically sat us in the outdoor dining area in the back. I would have liked to sit INSIDE for my first visit.
Service was great!
Chicken pot pie was the best dish of the night. The mac n' cheese was actually pretty oily and not as tasty as we anticipated (wouldn't order this item again). Nevertheless, we return to eat in the back area and/or bar as this was a fun place to be.
A few friends and I stopped by for happy hour which got us half off bottles of wine and discounted apps! We ordered the Caesar and mixed salad, pretzel bites, ahi tuna tartare, mini burger sliders, and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and not your typical bar food. Although this place tends to get packed at night and become more of a bar scene it was quiet enough when we went for good conversation. Our server, Katya, was attentive, friendly, and on top of our order status which was greatly appreciated. The salads took a long time to come out but the manager sent us a free flourless chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream to make up for it - and it was to die for!
If you can choose, eat outside on the patio! They hang lights and the heaters work so well it’s warmer outside than inside! The ambiance and service was amazing. The food... oh my goodness the food is fantastic and not overpriced like most San Fran resturants. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone.
Great place with good food. Wait staff was super. Loved the comfort food items
Food was amazing! I had the chicken pot pie and it was the perfect comfort food.
Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful waiters/waitresses, overall great experience. Would go again.
