The Tilted Row
I was truly impressed with the service, food and ambiance of this restaurant. We had the shrimp/grits and the Sorghum Brined Pork Chop, absolutely amazing. We actually sat at the bar and ate our dinner and it was very enjoyable. Hidden gem, check it out
Brunch - need to go back for dinner.
We had a great time at The Tilted Row. The servers were helpful and personable. It felt like we actually got to know them a bit. The food was quite good, and the portion sizes were bigger than we’d expected. When the kitchen took a bit too longer for our entrees, we were given something complimentary without ever even complaining.
WE had an excellent experience - great food and great service. It was a bit loud but we will definitely go again!
The food was very limited and not very good portions.
The prices were high for the wine and drinks and not a good pour.
Very loud and service was slow.
New restaurant nice ambience, some drinks unavailable, salmon and branzino not seasoned well very bland, was able to add salt , dessert was decent
Very nice spot. Good food and friendly service.
Came here for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff is great with recommendations and the director of operations stopped by to make sure everything was perfect. It was! Highly recommend the pork chop and the "A Summer's Lady" cocktail.
Excellent Food. Great neighborhood restaurant. Chef Andy Thomas knows how to cook!
our server: awesome
foccaia - to die for
shrimp and grits - amazing
lamb chops - always good
peach cobbler? what do you think? warm, with homemade vanilla ice cream
Lovely neighborhood atmosphere, food was good but nothing special...perhaps a bit disappointing
Lovely people. Wonderful joint. Taaty, tasty food. It was a great pleasure finding this place. We will definitely return. Hungry for more.
We started with an amazing drink, called twisted word, recommended by our server. Overall the food was very good to excellent. We shared all dishes, starting with zucchini fritters which were excellent, followed by 2 small plates, one was beet tartar with a balsamic glaze and goat cheese, and the other was charred octupus with smashed fingerling potatoes and harissa, both yummy. We then split the half chicken which was roasted and served with fingerling potatoes and frisée salad. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful birthday brunch. We will come again very soon.
When your waiter cannot hear the guests the sound is clearly too loud. Was difficult to chat amount us.
Great neighborhood vibe. Food and staff were super.
Wow. We were surprised and delighted to discover The Tilted Row on our last trip to Baltimore to drop off our MICA student for the fall. Brunch was impeccable--the Row Mimosa was perfect, with a generous slice of yummy grapefruit in the glass. The omelette might just be my favorite of all time, with a scrumptious blend of mushrooms, spinach, and shallots, topped with a goat cheese sauce and accompanied by fabulous potatoes and really fresh fruit. Our server was charming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Can't wait to return!
Food and service excellent!
The interior design is lovely - lots of big windows and light-filled. We ate at the bar, which had very comfortable seating. My husband and I shared the crab deviled eggs, which were amazing. We each had the special of the day, which was shrimp and grits - which was also delicious. The special included desert, which was delayed for some reason, but that was okay with us as we are not fans of bread pudding. The bar service was attentive and friendly. We had terrific cocktails. Wines by the glass, though, are a bit pricey. We were there on a Friday and there is a happy hour. We will likely return again to try other dishes.
I love the layout of this restaurant and enjoyed the views of the chefs doing the actual cooking in an open-faced kitchen. I stopped by for a happy hour and snack because I was in the area and waiting for traffic to die down. The crab deviled eggs were tasty and the duck fat fries were excellent. I'll definitely keep this spot in mind whenever I'm around. Not bad for a spot that's only 2 months old!
This was my 3rd visit & the food has always been outstanding. The service leaves a bit to be desired though. In this last instance, we were a group of 7 but they only brought waters & menus as people arrived, while (in my opinion) it would have been easier to just put tap water & menus at each place when the first guest arrived. Then, ordering a round of drinks was almost comical - and our server didn't know the flavor profile of the sour beer on tap. When asked what the fried chicken meal included, the hostess was quite proud of herself - she knew the answer! But the food was so good, it compensated for the haphazard service.
Great environment. Delicious food. Great customer service
Love this place and will be back! Great food and great service, awesome feel all aroubd
Food is really good, but the menu is small and doesn’t seem to rotate. So after three
Visits i feel like we’ve “done” the menu.
Quite a pleasant little restaurant in Bolton Hill. The food was really good, especially for Restaurant Week. Glad we checked it out and hope to be back soon.
Have been there twice and amazed both times. While not an extensive menu, there is a lot of thought and care in selection and preparation of ingredients. This is our go to restaurant in Baltimore any time.
Everything was terrific. Food was outstanding. Service was great. They need valet parking. Neighborhood not the best for street parking.
One thing, I was the last to finish my main course and the staff cleared everyone else’s dishes well before I was done- a little disconcerting.
We loved Tilted Row!!!! Don’t miss their Zaatar focaccia it was amazing!!!! Their restaurant week menu was on point, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Will definitely be coming back!
Good spot for restaurant week.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt I had to for the Tilted Row. Everything about this place was amazing. We sat at the chef table where you can watch the kitchen cook and prepare the food. The head chef would occasionally come by and offer some things for us to try. Our waiter Sam was great. He gave some great advice regarding the menu and the drink selection that was being offered. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the service. Kind, courteous, and attentive. Anytime I finished a plate or my drink someone would be right over to clear the table or ask if I would like another. Last but not least food was amazing. I ate everything single bite including some of my wife’s food lol. 100% recommend going to this restaurant. I know I will be back
Went during restaurant week. My wife and I had a great time. My wife had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. One of the best chimichuri’s we’ve ever had. I had the Bronzini. Massive, and grilled expertly. For desert I had strawberry short cake with a country style biscuit. The biscuit was soft, warm, and buttery on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was an all around lovely experience for our first time. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely worth the try and we’re looking forward to our next visit.
The food, location, and ambiance were good. The service was just ok. I mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and there was no mention of it from the servers or hostess. That was slightly disappointing. Also, we were given the Restaurant week menu and I had to ask several times before being given the regular menu.
Great food! Great service! Will definitely be back!
I took my wife & daughter to The Tilted Row during Baltimore Restaurant Week. We were seated promptly upon our arrival.
We each ordered an appetizer. The ladies had the crab & corn chowder and the fili platter, while I had the tomato & cucumber salad. The chowder was warm, not hot. The other appetizers were delicious.
My daughter & I each had the salmon and my wife enjoyed the shrimp & grits. Each entree was cooked perfectly and tasted great.
The Tilted Row features Taharka Brothers ice cream, which was fantastic. My daughter & I had the Honey Graham ice cream. My wife enjoyed the chocolate cake. I also had the strawberry shortcake. All were wonderful.
Sam was our server and did a great job.
Unfortunately they were out of the beer I wanted and the vanilla ice cream I wanted to accompany my strawberry shortcake. We were there on a Monday, and I assume they ran out after a busy weekend. I can forgive this, but hope it doesn't happen again.
The dining room is small. I imagine it is very crowded on weekends and can get very tight.
Overall, we were pleased. The Tilted Row is on the edge of a rough neighborhood. I truly hope it can be an anchor for the community and can lead to some more redevelopment of the area.
Myself and two girlfriends went for restaurant week and had a wonderful experience. The staff from hostess to bartender to waiter where knowledgeable and welcoming. All of the food was delicious, the drink menu (craft cocktails, wine, beer) was impressive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual evening out.
Their restaurant week menu was excellent and the staff treated us extremely well! We will definitely come back to try the full menu.
It was Restaurant Week and our only choice was a somewhat limited prix fixe menu. I would not ordinarily have dessert, so was a little put off having to buy that course. It would have been nice to have had the option of the regular, a la carte menu. That said, the food was very good.
The service also was very good - our main server was charming - but it was a bit slow.
The decor is cool. A beautiful marble bar and seats at a counter overlooking the kitchen look fun. We were at a banquette which was very comfortable. However it is all hard services and there was one large, raucous table which affected the noise level of the entire restaurant. It is not a large restaurant. We were seated a bit apart from the table, so it was tolerable, but had we been in the same area, I'm not sure we would have stayed. I hope they can find some way to soften the noise level.
All in all, I would definitely go back. I think it will be a great asset to the neighborhood.
We will be back.
Restaurant week. A little wild.
Just go. You won’t be disappointed
Food flavor and presentation were great, but definitely needed to come out hot. Soup came out barely warm and the grits were cold but the fixings hot.
