   Great food and excellent value for money. The staff where very friendly and nothing was too much bother. Will definitely be back, actually booked for following Saturday five stars all round.

   The dessert was supposed to have fruit in the middle and had very little, disappointed and not satisfied. Staff need to be more up to date on allergies as they weren’t sure when we asked. Some very sharp when spoken to, not good customer service. Apart from this was great value for money.

   I have recommended Tides to friends before. I was however disappointed on this visit. On arrival we waited for our table, when the table was ready the staff member shouted across to us that he was ready for us, very unprofessional. The seafood Thermador sauce was very salty, the fish was tough, mash had a “skin” over the top. It seemed that the dish had been made earlier and kept warm / reheated. We had a table of six and another diner commented that their meat was tough, as if it had been cooked at 4pm then reheated. One of the waitresses threw plates on the table and when we all had our dishes, she didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. All in all this visit was not the most positive visit. The menus were dog eared and dirty

    I have been to Tides quite a few times and have always had a lovely meal. There have always been good offers on and plenty of different dishes to choose from. Service has always been excellent and very friendly and the views from the restaurant upstairs are wonderful. It is a pleasant walk from the centre of Portrush. I would always recommend booking as it is very very popular.

    Not sure why they have a booking system. Waited 50 minutes before being seated at 20:20. Was talking to others while waiting and they were in the same position. At least when I go to another establishment in Portrush, I know I will possibly be waiting. When I book it is because we want to eat at around that time. Please ditch the booking system or do better to keep to the allotted times

    Had lunch with wife and 2 grandchildren. Food -2 courses, was excellent and very good value. Staff were pleasant and service was very good. Scenery unfortunately not good due to cloudy day. A very enjoyable meal out.

    We always used tides and service and food always great the last experience not so good I had family over for Xmas and wanted to treat them before they left we didn’t get our drinks until after the starter we reported this to waitress who checked the screen and walked away to serve someone else not informing us of the outcome we then reported it again to another waitress who was more than helpful and our drinks order hadn’t gone through. People we were with didn’t rate the steaks very well so didn’t enjoy their main course. 1st time I’ve been where it wasn’t enjoyable

    My boyfriend and I went for dinner and availed of the 3 courses for the price of your main. We only took 2 courses and got a free drink instead. We had heard good reviews about the place and were excited to try it. We made an hours journey to it. We got the nachos to share - disappointing to say the least! The nachos were tortilla’s cut into triangles and fried. They were served with sweet chilli sauce and a sour cream that was a bit more like mayo and a couple of fresh chillis and sprigs of coriander set on the top. Not what we were expecting at all. I ordered the seabass with chorizo and tomato stew. Again, disappointed with this dish. The “stew” was baby potatoes, sun dried tomatoes and a few slices of chorizo (few and far between). It was garnished with oil and some spring onions. Very bland and dry as there was no sauce with the meal. Thankfully I ordered the Parmesan and rocket salad which made the meal taste better. My boyfriend ordered the duck. Although the meat was quite tender, he said it was bland and boring to eat. He ordered sour cream and chilli fried as a side and the fries were cubed potatoes with the same sweet chilli and sour cream combo we had gotten on our nachos. Seemed like a lazy effort. We shared a sticky toffee to finished our meal which was nice. Massive portion size, which was a bonus! Probably the best part of the meal. All in all the food was bland and most of it seemed rushed. Unfortunately will not be back - very disappointing indeed.

    Overall a good experience and nice atmosphere. However despite booking a table we had to wait a further 15/20mins by the draughty door. Food was good and there was a good meal deal on. We had ordered a side which should have been included in the meal deal but we were charged extra for that. We ordered the banoffee which was mainly made of a huge amounts of cream, so not very nice. Our waitress, Rachel, was lovely and very friendly.

    Everything was great except the menu layout wasn't very clear. Struggled to pick a main because it came with a starter which sounded like pretty big portions too and they were. Then we were forced (in a nice way) to choose a dessert too because it was included in the price! Go on a very empty belly!

    The Tides is our favourite place to eat when we visit the north coast. Very friendly staff. Food is great, relaxing atmosphere, brilliant value for money. We wouldn't eat anywhere else! Love it!

    We had a lovely Friday evening meal. Food was really nice steak,mussels,brochetta and delicious original deserts all excellent value. Staff were very attentive and assisted us with drinks to accommodate medical restrictions. This was our first visit and we will be back. It certainly was 10 TIMES BETTER than the well known restaurants on the harbour where on one occasion there wasn't even cutlery and repeated asking got us nowhere. Lovely atmosphere and staff really look after you.
