Sally, Dave and their team at The Throckmorton, Coughton look forward to greeting you.

We are an independently owned and operated Freehouse and Inn in Coughton, Warwickshire. After delighting the patrons of Worcestershire and Warwickshire for 10 years we have undergone a major refurbishment in January 2025.

Our menus still feature homemade dishes, created by our team of chefs using local suppliers, delivering a quality dining and traditidional pub experience, alongside 10 bedrooms for guests visiting the area.

This is a lovely venue but we had booked and the service was very slow considering that there were not many people dining. The Sunday roast lunch looked amazing as it arrived, beautifully presented but lacking in meat. 2 of us paid extra for the trio of meat but the slices were very thin and small in size. We have eaten much better value, good quality roasts in similar establishments so would not return here for the Sunday lunch. The burger meal was much better value so I would choose differently if we return.

A wide ranging menu that appeals to all tastes. Attentive and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.

We were stopping at the Throckmorton on a Saturday night so had an evening meal. Service was good and the staff were friendly. Good choice of drinks although a couple of the ales were off at various times during our visit. We only had a main course each but they were both well presented and tasty. Prices are edging towards the higher end for pub food although I noted they did do fixed price menus during the week. You can dine al fresco although we opted to eat in and then took our drinks outside after we had finished eating. Lovely views from the garden.

Service, friendly, quick and efficient . .Food was excellent! The Thai curry was the best I’d ever had. Great value for money. Definitely will be returning.

Excellent menu with lots of varied options for our party of 5. Service was really friendly and speedy. We sat outside as the weather was good but interior of the pub was lovely.

Eight of us lunched here and whilst overall the food and service was first rate we all puzzled a little over the choice of starters. The starters are either with flatbreads or tapas bowls and we would have preferred some more traditional choices. Should we go back and the menu remains the same I think we would skip starters and have a dessert instead.

We've eatem at The Throckmorotn many times before, often bringing friends. But yesterday, a dish I hadn't tried before, the chicken caesar salad was very poor. The chicken was so little cooked it was hard to cut it with a knife. Chicken should be so tender you hardly need to cut it. A great shame.
