   We decided to book Christmas Day lunch here this year. A real treat to go out to eat and we were not disappointed. Great starters, then two of us had the roast Turkey with all the trimming and the other two had beef which they said was delicious. Large portions of food all in a cosy Christmas atmosphere. We often eat here and so we’re very happy we made the decision to go there this year. Shame that they must close as we all enter tier 4!

   Fabulous local pub, very good pub food, staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere warm and welcoming

   Service was very slow they had too many bookings for the same time, so couldn’t deal with the volume of food orders in the kitchen with the new restrictions of staff being distant. But the food was still so worth the wait and the venue is lovely. Have been before and will definitely go again.

   We had a lovely evening, we were offered restaurant or bar seating, and preferred the bar where there was a warm fire. The food and drinks were brought at a sensible rate and we really enjoyed lingering and chatting over it all. Not the cheapest but of course I'm happy to pay for a good experience and really well prepared food. Great setting and overall very happy.

    After a very poor start, the waitress made up for it with very friendly and efficient service. The food was good, the pinot noir pleasant and the ambiance 'rustic'. Having booked for 7pm, we were rather surprised, on arrival at our table, by an overzealous young man who told us we needed to leave by 8.30pm. Having told him that no one had advised us of that beforehand and that it was most unlikely to happen, he disappeared, never to be seen again. I think a bit of coaching would be useful.
