Service was a little slow and server was a bit of a “know it all.”
Enjoyed it - will go back.
Good food and ambiance! Nice outdoor seating, perfect for warm weather. Delish frozen margarita!
Loved the small room tucked back behind the bookcase which provided a nice space for business gathering. Disappointed that the popular wine requested was not available and the less preferred wine requested was very limited (1 1/2 glasses). Our server did a great job of checking in and provided great service.
We made a reservation for brunch on Sunday. We were seated promptly and ordered without any delay. However, one of the orders for our table (two eggs scrambled with ham) evidently had to wait on the orders of chilaquiles, and the egg order was not even lukewarm. Sent the plate back and got a new plate a few minutes later. In addition, we are chilaquiles aficionados, but these were so spicy and flavorless (sounds oxymoronic, but it was true) as to be inedible. Not a good experience this time.
Food selection was limited for brunch but I had the burger and it was very good.
Our waiter seemed to not even want to be there, food was mediocre and bland.
First time at Theodore, definitely innovative menu selection. The food pairing were excellent. I highly recommend for foodies.
Disappointing service and food not as good as on prior visits - would not suggest for a birthday celebration!
Restaurant marked is as no-show despite being on time for reservation. Also our server didn’t show until we had sat around for 10min. She came back to take our order but never came back to refill our water or coffee or clear our table of appetizer plates. Also 3 of the 4 dishes came out cold. The food tasted only ok. Nothing really stand out about it. The service here is terrible despite it looking nice. Would not recommend.
I went for brunch and I’ve brunched all over Dallas and there are better places to go. Tbh, it was the location that bothered me. It’s in a mall so there are many families and it gets packed. Take my advice with a grain of salt, I’m just a 20something Dallas bruncher and this just didn’t really fit my taste. It was still nice though but for families :)
Delicious, well crafted, unique menu. My favorite is the Brisket Pot Pie. The Theodore burger and Creme Brûlée.
We sat in the little room with the disco ball. The U-shaped booth was dirty and I said something to the hostess while sitting down but she ignored me so I had to clean it myself. The Bloody Mary “bar” is overpriced and so are some of the menu items. We liked it but will be more selective about the items we order.
They knew it was for my birthday but they didn’t try make it special.
The Theodore is always the perfect choice. Great variety on the menu. Something for everyone.
Our waiter was amazing and our seating was excellent. The food was fine, but not memorable.
Food was good but not outstanding. Service was slow and not attentive.
Our waitress was outstanding!
My friends and I enjoyed The Theodore. Two of us had a crab salad, which was very tasty and just the right amount of food for a lunch--sufficient but not overwhelming. My husband was less satisfied with his lobster roll; it tasted fine but didn't have the amount of lobster that he had gotten in lobster rolls in Maine. But all in all, we had few quibbles, and we'll probably go back again, especially as the location in Northpark Mall works well for us.
Brunch. Food pretty good. Server was attentive.
Brunch at the mall? Opt for bread winners instead.
good food and service, but noisy. The rest of this is just to get 50 characters in so my review would be accepted.
The food was great! They had an issue with the credit system and the Manager on duty Peter made sure that we were updated on the issue and well taken care of during our wait. Very good customer service.
Met friends for lunch and meeting. We sat in one of the little "private" rooms which was fun and allowed space and privacy for our discussion. Food was very good!
A disappointment. The hummus was average, rather bland. My steak frites was good, the portion was a bit small. My friend’s pork chop entree was a disaster. It was quite dry and over cooked. In contrast, the vegetables were almost raw. I suspect they fell off a crudités appetizer plate and onto the entree. It was the worst $25 entree I’ve ever tasted.
I would have complained to my waiter about the chop, but he disappeared after dropping off the entrees, and did not reappear until we were finished. He also failed to offer us the fresh baked bread the place touts. The place wasn’t that busy, so there’s no excuse for the service.
Had to ask waiter several times for coffee.... no very attentive
Although Service for our group of 5 was quite good...EVERYONE'S food came out COLD!!!!!We were in somewhat of a hurry and with the restaurant being quite busy, couldn't get our waiter's attention for some time and decided to eat what we could, pay, and leave
The food was very disappointing. We each ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and received what can aptly be described as hardly fast-food worthy. The accompanying fries were equally disappointing and served lukewarm. Had to return one of the the sandwiches because the chicken was undercooked and unfortunately "chewy." Even if properly cooked, the lack of seasoning or any level of creativity was enough to disappoint. Will not return.
I think our waiter was new. He tried hard, and will improve quickly because he seems to care. The food was good, but I think a bit over priced for the atmosphere. Love the complementary warm bread! Shrimp tacos were tasty. I would definitely order them again.
There were a lot of appealing choices on the menu, I settled on the steak salad, and my companion had the steak frites - both were very good. The ambience and decor is unique and pleasant. We went here because it was very close and convenient to the movie theater in Northpark and would certainly do so again, but it won't be a "destination" that we would go to if we weren't already planning to be at the mall for other reasons.
Food is always yummy here and the setting is great. It's very warm and inviting and not noisy. However, our service was not great. Our regular server couldn't be found for 20 minutes when we needed our check, we asked another server to track him down and he never actually did. After waiting we finally tracked down someone who appeared to be a manager so we can pay. Besides service, it was great!
It was wonderful!!! Our waiter, Carson, was spectacular and we really enjoyed all the decor around us. The food was amazing and drinks were fantastic as well. I definitely look forward to going back!!
Met up with a hometown friend for lunch while I was in town. Our server wasn't very attentive. I got the chicken tortilla soup, which was quite good. My friend had the turkey burger, which was decent.
The food was delicious and the service very good. My wife, her sister, her sister's husband and I spent a lovely evening together.
Love the menu options but disappointed with the margherita pizza and flank steak entree this time. I’ve had lunch here before and had an excellent meal, but I guess you need to pick the right menu items.
Excellent menu with variety— fresh, creative salads and hearty entrees. Great cocktails. Perfect spot for get-togethers!
The service was poor and the restrooms were horrible!
Love this place
Enjoyed a pleasant dinner at the Theodore after shopping at the North Park Mall. The food was good. The server was attentive. The price is probably a little high for what you get... but it is the North Park Mall. This is a solid choice... it is especially good for brunch.
Sitting in the alcove for our party was perfect. The wait staff and management were very accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Enjoyed when first opened however now restaurant has changed menu and lowered service level. No one was in dining area but service was extremely slow, bill was incorrect food was okay and waiter never once acknowledged issues even after we said something. Would not go back.
