The service was awful,very slow,had a 22 month old,who sat for so long,then got impatient with waiting.We had to ask for drinks,had to ask to order,the food took ages to come out.It wasn't even peak time,4 30 in afternoon.Was a regular,not any more,chose to get desert elsewhere the wait was too long! When we did find staff they were all chatting together.

All the staff are fabulous Welcoming Friendly and efficient Food is good, could be a bit cheaper. 2 of us had the fish pie, on seeing 2 chunks of bread I immediately thought that the pie would be a lovely and saucy, sadly it was so dry I used my sons gravy, and only 2 prawns, at that price point I expected a bit better. The chicken pot pie, again tasty but was the opposite, lots of filling but really watery. So, so hungry when we arrived and we did all leave full We love coming over, and will continue to do so This is just constructive criticism on a couple of dishes Thank you

We visited the Thatch last year and were impressed by the food and service, So booked in for a meal again. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectation and we were very disappointed with the service and Sunday lunch was very average. Having subsequently visited other establishments we found these better value for money so won’t be returning to the Thatch.

We have visited regularly over the years and always been happy with our meals. This week we have found the Gluten Free menu more limited and meal descriptions misleading (eg. hot honey glaze apparently now means spicy!) staff are nice but the price point is now too high for the range and quality on offer. Doubt we will be back.

Noise is part of the joy of thatch, people go because it’s lively. We travelled down from Wiltshire to go surfing and have dinner. Now on to review staff bang on friendly helpful and cheerful and look like they even enjoy working . Food what can I say after a day at the beach nothing better than a thatch portion (diet out the window) perfection takes time and when you’re enjoying yourself you don’t notice the wait. My only criticism is I am dairy free gluten free and Diabetic … ( I know eat bloody fresh air ) so healthy hippy options would be amazing xxxx the Andrews

Staff are great service was slow food was cold kitchen needs a kick up the backside plates and food felt like it had been left on the pass for the 20 minutes we waited for the 35 minutes we waited for a roast dinner ON A SUNDAY
