   Everything was fine except the food. Who imagined that parsnip and pear would go together. Also had fish in green slime. The fish is what I feed my cat and was very strong tasting. The chips were good. There was not enough choice on the menu for the cost. I also indicated that it was my daughters birthday. So much for that. All in all a very bad experience on a special day.

   Bitterly disappointed afternoon tea, so expensive we were not even offered refill of tea. Were promised trout mayo sandwich and didn't get it. And for 67 pounds utterly disgusting, so feel like I have been ripped off. Terrible cakes scones were ok, sandwich was tiny 67pounds

   It was a very pleasant lunchtime experience on our day out at the craft fair. The food was very tasty. Theo was very attentive during our meal.

   A wonderful lunch, once again,thank you. The chef coped with my allergies, cooked something fresh for me and also made me a special dessert which was delicious. A great experience and I look forward to returning next month.

   The Chef's Special trout salad was poor. Very little in it besides green leaves, fish and an egg on top.

   The meal we were served here was truly awful. It was my birthday, it was meant to be a lovely day. So I was in two minds to post a review, I wanted to rise above it and try to forget we ever went here, but it has stayed on my mind, so here it is: Having lunch at Wisley was supposed to be a lovely birthday treat - as a vegetarian there was only one choice for starter and main course. No worries, that isn’t unusual…The parsnip starter was edible, but nothing more, disappointing given the description on the website about seasonal homegrown produce etc. However the main course was completely unacceptable - the main ingredient being a butternut squash, which in this case was too hard to eat. Anyone who cooks butternut squash in a dish knows it is meant to be lusciously soft. Not only that, apart from being badly cooked, the entire dish was bland, under seasoned and completely unappetising. Yuck! I just gave up. And returned it. I was offerered a ‘salad’ in place of my main: it was a begrudgingly mean bowl of rocket, baby spinach and a new potato cut into chunks plus some dressing, which I ate because I was hungry. Not much of a birthday meal…. If it hadn’t been for the absolutely charming young waiter who tried his best to salvage the situation, this whole experience would have been a complete disaster. However the hefty near £100 bill for two at the end still leaves a nasty taste…

   We always have a lovely meal here with excellent service, the only reason I have marked down one star is that we did not have the option of the Chefs Special main, which sounded delicious.
