   The building and location was beautiful, we even played a game of chess together on the grass afterwards, but the mothers day afternoon tea could have been better - it tasted OK, everything looked amazing but the taste didn't live up to the look. The real downside was the lack of available staff, we were given the afternoon tea and then we didn't see them again so we had to keep looking for a clearly overworked member of staff who did her best, but was clearly struggling with all the tables. There was a grumpy man who bought us tea and coffee but he looked annoyed that we'd arrived! In summary, it could be amazing, but it hasn't hit the spot yet.

   The food was really good and filling, we took a doggie bag as we couldn’t finish. Our waiter was a young man who was just lovely, couldn’t have done enough and made us feel special and valued. I hope he gets recognised. Will go back!

   Was la lovely afternoon ,but service could have been better, left waiting a while for things . And room was very hot. I had to open window as no one to ask

   Went for High tea, was a little disappointed how bland the sandwiches were, also the choice was limited and had to ask for additional sandwiches to be made. Also we were supposed to have pressecco at the end and this was not given to us.

   The only small criticism I have was the filling in the afternoon tea sandwiches was rather scant in relation to the thickness of the bread. Otherwise it was very enjoyable tea

   Unfortunately we were told that it was only afternoon tea on offer, only to see the kitchen carry out roasts to another part of the hotel! There was no music playing so entering the room with one other table felt very dead and awkward. The afternoon tea was £37 each with no refills of tea offered. Whilst efforts were made to cater to an allergy, which was appreciated, this still felt very expensive for what was available. The staff were OK, took us a while to get water and some were friendlier than others but nobody was unpleasant. The venue is beautiful and it feels like a treat. I just wish we had gotten the Sunday roast we expected which would have cost a lot less that £40 per head after tip!
