The Terrace at EDITION and Outdoor Gardens
Delicious dinner and impeccable service.
I'm always skeptical about restaurants near Times Square but was pleasantly surprised here. The service was efficient and attentive (thanks, Mustapha!) and the decor and ambiance made for a fairly relaxing, not-typical Times Square experience - and we still got to the show on time! My spouse and I are local and it was our first time here, and we mentioned our anniversary - and were offered a welcome drink on the house. A really nice touch! The menu is varied and our selections (calamari, a filet mignon and a vegetarian pasta) were uniformly good, as was a shared dessert. Wine list is all New World - my glass of red was good and a generous pour. It was bit of a scrum entering the building downstairs (weird, uninviting lobby), getting the elevator and lining up at front desk but the restaurant itself feels spacious and airy and not too loud. Also appreciated the half-portion of pasta.
One of the worst dining experiences on record in New York City. Sat us over 25 minutes late. It took exactly 40 minutes from the moment we sat till anything was brought to the table. There were food allergies made abundantly clear upon arrival and once again once seated with the waiter. Every single one of those items appeared on the plates they were not supposed to. And all we got was a simple verbal apology from a manager who obviously had no idea how to accommodate a horrific experience. Good riddance.
Such a hidden gem in Times Square! Perfect for a business lunch, after work drinks or even a pre-theater meal.
Such a nice surprise to find this beautiful place in Times Square. Very relaxing atmosphere. Service slightly slow but OK. Food was impeccable and beautifully presented. If I'm in the area again would definitely go back.
Delicious food, lovely meal altogether, great wine and cocktail list, beautiful atmosphere.
Food was fantastic. However, disappointed that we were seated next to the only other people in the restaurant. They were so loud. Would have loved to have been seated in the garden, but wasn’t asked it o preferred it.
Server/waiter didn’t speak very good English. The lady that served my wine was attentive and listened to what o was saying. LOVED THE CHOCOLATE SOUFFLÉ
The Terrace is a unique oasis of greenery, music, and casual chic in the midst of the Theatre District. The various rooms, including outside space, are inviting and create an upbeat mood - a perfect compromise between the pretentious high-end restaurants and the numerous “casual” noisy, diners that fill the area. Despite its size, you get personal attention. After only one evening there, this restaurant has become an instant favorite.
Terrible Terrible Terrible. Took 50 mins for cold appetizers to arrive and then had to wolf down our entree which came at 7:25 PM when we had to leave at 7:30 PM for a show. All we were told there was a problem in the kitchen.
While they comped the entrees, I will never go back.
And I will tell anyone I see never to go.
The worst tourist trap is better than this place.
We had a great meal , the service could of been quicker since we were making a play at 8:00
The atmosphere was enjoyable especially the outdoor gardens. It was a enjoyable evening.
Amazing atmosphere and food! Drinks well made! Would love to go again!
Gorgeous outdoor garden like terrace in the heart of Times Square! Possibly the best burger I’ve ever had - 28-day aged prime beef with a mushroom topping and a cheese fondue sauce. Yum!!!
Amazing ambience and atmosphere! Our service was impeccable!
Great food. The duck was particularly good. The service was amazing. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The setting was also fantastic!
Food is fantastic and you can’t beat the ambience - we had the Boston salad (which they prepare table side) and grilled octopus
Had a wonderful time celebrating my anniversary. Truly a nice experience, you have excellent staff service. Great food- I regret ordering the King Crab as an appetizer as it was so good I should have ordered it as an entree! Thank you.
Such a beautiful place! Food was really good and an overall great experience. The concierge even printed something for me that I urgently needed. We went for everyday dining but I would go back for a birthday or special occasion. Spacious but intimate
Surprise! A glorious oasis above Times Square! Sumptuous green garden surroundings create a soothing ambience. Superb small plates menu for the pre-theater crowd or those looking for cocktail munchies. Major entree selections to please both meat and non-meat eaters. Take elevator to the 9th floor. You will return here. Not cheap.
We went with friends before a show. As soon as we checked in the hostess confirmed our “out time” to get us to our show on time. We were seated in the covered terrace room by the bar. It was a hot and humid day and we were plenty cool with the AC. The atmosphere was superb and quiet enough to have conversation. Service was excellent! Friendly, fast and attentive. The food was great the only thing I would change is a bigger portion size or a couple bucks lower but that’s looking for a critique. We had king crab pasta, Broadway burger, swordfish and stuffed peppers. We even got out earlier than our “out time” and to our show in plenty of time. Will definitely be back!
I wish I could remember our servers name, she moved to NYC within the last year from PR, as she was amazing and the level of service she provided made our evening. We were both certain she had to be management but when I inquired she said she was not, She should be!! Dinner was fantastic followed by after dinner drinks and coffee on the terrace. Highly recommended and thank you again to our server.
If you want an experience that takes you away from the noise of NYC and into the class and delight of fine dining, first class service and an experience yo remember, go to The Terrace!
Gorgeous restaurant! Food was delicious!
Food was amazing with so many veggie centric as well as a myriad of other offerings. Loved the atmosphere and the service was excellent.
Received a terrible table. Only go if you can sit on the terrace.
Beautiful restaurant...we could have lingered all day. Great food.
I made a reservation to eat in the Garden room. A reservationist called the prior day to reconfirm. She failed to mention that the Garden was closed for a private party - a disappointment since I had a friend with me from AZ who I thought would enjoy the ambience of that space.
The food is well prepared and the kitchen accommodates changes/special requests. The service was very sporadic and needs to improve to match the quality of the food.
The restaurant had a really cool vibe and good food. The scenery and decor was beautiful
Gorgeous spot for a date or just drinks with friends
A great exciting change of pace in TinesSquare. A very welcome new watering hole and lovely dining experience
Front desk has seemed pretty snooty each time I’ve gone there which makes you feel very unwelcome but once in the restaurant, service is meticulous, friendly and helpful.
Only suggestion is make sure you request outdoor seating if that’s what you’d like. We assumed we’d be seated there, but were not.
Our experience at The Terrace was outstanding - service was genuine and anticipatory, food was outstanding! We will recommend and come back.
Ronald was amazing!! Shared lots of info about this Ian Schrager Hotel. We will definitely be back!!
Beautiful oasis in the heart of the theater district
Waited 20 minutes for drinks and said in the beginning we had show tickets. Dinner came 20 minutes before we had to go. They were accommodating and did not charge us for drinks or appetizers but still terrible service. Restaurant is beautiful Food was good but small portions
The ambiance is fantastic, as well as the food and the service. We started with drinks on the outside patio. They were a little expensive ($16) but very well made and expected for the type of great atmosphere. The expediency of receiving the drinks however could have been better.
The food was excellent. We had the beef tartar and smoked salmon apps to begin followed by swordfish and Trout. The trout was one of the best I've had. In fact all items were good.
The floor manager, Roman, is very attentive and professional with a nice personality.
We will be back.
Mike and David
I would only recommend it for a drink. Our meals were just ok and weren't really a great value.
A great meal in a great ambience.
We requested a table outside but when we arrived we found that the outside was closed for a special event. So disappointed, but our disappointment vanished when we tasted the food. Everything was outstanding, all 4 dishes, plus the professional and attentive service. Can’t wait to go back.
