Lunch served Monday - Saturday, 12:00 - 15:00
Afternoon Tea served Friday's & Saturday's, 14:30 – 15:45. Bookings are required to be made within 48 hours of your reservation
À la Carte Dining: Daily from 17:00
Sunday Lunch: from 12:00 - 16:00

Our bar and snug open daily offer a great spot for coffee, tea, drinks, and bar snacks. Well-behaved four-legged friends are welcome in our bar until 18:00.

Say hello to Afternoon Tea at The Tempus! (Hey Parents, we are also offering a Children's Afternoon Tea, treat your little munchkins for £19.95, just let us know how many children in the party in the notes!!!!) Indulge in a mouth-watering selection of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a delicious array of miniature cakes and pastries. However we do require 48 hours notice as everything is prepared on the day for you. Our brand-new menu has been carefully designed by our very own pastry chef, using freshly sourced ingredients from Northumberland and the Borders. Need we say more? Afternoon Tea will be served every Friday and Saturday. Pre-booking is required 48hrs before.

We were disappointed in the choice of food for my daughter who is gluten and dairy free . We feel that ,since we booked our table weeks in advance , you should have been able to provide a better choice than sorbet or fruit for dessert or offer a reduction in the standard price of the meal .

On this occasion we were somewhat disappointed, primarily with the main course . The soufflé was very good. The various vegetables were the most disappointing. The mange too and the green beans were inedible as they were not cooked sufficiently and were stringy. The broccoli was fine. The roast potatoes were very poor rock hard on the outside and powdery in the middle and no taste. The service was fine.

Feels like a wedding venue rather than a restaurant. Decor in the bar is very flamboyant which I appreciate is down to personal taste. Food was delicious - overpriced if using the a La. Rate menu but the early bird deal is good value

Best Sunday lunch with an excellent choice of roast meats and a selection of alternatives . Lovely environment in the orangery with efficient service and nice selection of wines and drinks . Will definitely be back .

Absolutely stunningly beautiful surroundings inside and out. Restaurant ( Orangery) light and airey and beautifully decorated. The food service was not rushed and all at very enjoyable pace. Set Sunday lunch 2 or 3 course choice menu. Generous portions and very nicely presented. Could not manage 3 courses as food portions were so filling and not big appetite. Would highly recommend as a wonderful place to go for a special occasion.
