   The food was tasty, and well presented: the meno had lots of choice, good for our party because of intolerances. Service was excellent. . Probably the alcohol a little more expensive, no BYO. But again lots of choice. All in all a good meal with family in pleasant surroundings. Would go again.

   Food delightful. Good coffee. Service lukewarm. Note - no split bills. Do not book the tea room through open table - staff claimed no knowledge of our booking and told us that Open Table is a scam and that they only take bookings from the Hyatt website. Staff also mentioned that this issue has arisen many times. Makes a person wonder…..

   The high ceilings, luxurious ambience yet cozy surrounds made for a very enjoyable and delightful meetup/catchup with friends whom we haven't seen in ages.

   O.K so the Hyatt is a Canberra Institution 5 star a beautiful example of inter war bungalow architecture (it is magnificent)… So…I made a booking using this app for a 6pm, just light tea for my elderly mother and I (a pick me up for us both) The tea lounge maître de couldn’t find the open table reservation. A then a tedious and draining (but polite) stand off ensued …. A small table was found but the gloss went off the occasion. There was a belated (and I believe) sincere apology from the duty manager which did help…but… Any way it’s clear staff are obviously unaware (not trained) in the use of this booking app, which was unfortunate, however, a more flexible and accomodating approach by staff would have also been appreciated. The tables we were advised had been reserved for guests (perfectly reasonable as they are paying guests) went largely unused which was a little irksome. I later confirmed with OT that the booking was visible on Hyatt end (if they knew to look for it. Stressful times in hospitality, staff turnover is an issue I realise just a disappointing experience I couldn’t wait to leave.

   We were very disappointed to find out that open table has no relationship with the Hyatt and they had no record of our booking. They did not handle the situation very well and made it feel like it was our fault and we were quite embarrassed so we left. I had booked high tea for a birthday gift and it really ruined our day as we had to scrabble to find something else. It also makes me hesitant about using open table in future if this could happen again.

   probably wouldn't recommend. The food was a bit disappointing. The Lamb piece of meat on the spoon was horrible - just didn't work as an option. I think you should make the alcohol a choice not an obligation, as if you don't have the fizzy you still end up paying for it. The experience was not worth $68! also the gluten free bread was very stale and unpleasant. Probably, wouldn't go again.

   I have visited The Hyatt Canberra Tea Lounge many times and this visit did not disappoint my expectations. Friendly staff, immaculate area and tempting food.

   I was a little disappointed that there was not more choice of food for those not having the full tea. And I wish that serving staff would stop whisking plates away when one has finished eating even though one's company has not finished. I think it is very rude to leave your guest/company still eating when your own plate has been taken away. Is this what people experience at home? It was not my experience. We waited until everyone had finished and then the plates were cleared.

    It was lovely and as it was a birthday treat we were surprised with cake with a candle. Would recommend to anyone as a very enjoyable experience.

    Very disappointed with the table service from a supposedly 5 star hotel. Although the tea room was not overly busy we had to ask for tea order to be taken, for milk and utensils to be brought to the table. Ambiance is fine if you don’t mind luggage trolleys being dragged through the room while you are eating. Won’t be going back I’m afraid. Better service and quieter at Hotel Realm (Canberra)

    Whilst the ambience was pleasant and the service quite good, the food was the biggest letdown. Yes, it looked really great, but was just generally tasteless and too processed. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that.

    I loved the ambiance of the place. Very old world. Food was great and service good. The deserts where amazing. The pink champagne was an added touch to the overall celebrations.

    Food was very disappointing. Sandwiches were dry, meat pies tasted frozen and reheated and scones were like little rocks that had only risen 1 to 1.5 cm high. If you can't nail a scone for high tea then you are in trouble.

    Lovely old building, beautiful music, However the choice, quality and presentation of the food is slipping whilst the price has now become unaffordable. Hot food (small pies and vegetable balls) were luke warm at best, Cucumber Sandwiches were gluey with cream cheese and poorly cut. Deli Ham and Salami with mass produced cheese I can buy weekly at the supermarket - does not constitute high tea fare to me. Scones in which the melted butter is tipped into the flour and not rubbed in...Also, why am I constantly looking for staff ?Because although Coffee/tea is unlimited it cuts down on the amount served? This was a really disappointing experience.Not recommended.

    What a great place to spend an afternoon with friends. The high tea was superb both in quality and variety supported by a good wine list. The lounge has a delightful comfortable atmosphere with great ambience I would highly recommend the experience and will certainly return. I've also enjoyed Christmas lunch and seafood buffets.

    We had high tea for my husbands birthday, the food was lovely, we ate too much! Service was excellent and we really enjoyed the quiet time together. Would definitely recommend. A little on the pricey side, but you get a beautiful meal and experience for what you pay for 😊

    I really loved the live piano playing - very classy. It's a beautiful dining area which has such a great feeling of space. It is annoying to be seated close to other guests so that any conversation is not private. At the Hyatt we felt like we were in our own little haven. I highly recommend high tea here for a special occasion.

    Not at all what I expected or remembered from some years ago. Food very ordinary, extremely overpriced for what it was, and very poor selection. Service slow and unhelpful. Atmosphere dull and boring, not even any background music.

    We enjoyed the lovely pianst playing and the view into the garden. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon but would visit again. A little disappointed there wasn't more cheese or fruit selection and the scones could be delivered hot to each table rather than asking for them to be 'heated up'.

    I recommended the High Tea for our girls weekend away as I had been before several years ago. It was still good but in my opinion not as good as it once was. All 6 of us agreed that scones should be the centrepiece of a good high tea. They should be fresh, light and fluffy and unfortunately the scones we had on the day were terrible! Small, flat and dry. I remember there also used to be a lovely warm dessert with a vanilla custard (maybe apple crumble?) but it was not there this time. The other food was nice. Some commented there was not enough crackers/cheese. Otherwise, the venue and service are still as good as I remember and I did not regret recommending it.

    Wasn’t to the same standard as the last time I went. The gluten free bread used was not nice, there are much better and softer options that can be found at the supermarket. No gluten free cake options, and the tea was too strong/overbrewed. For a high tea, the tea should be made well. Would not come again in a hurry.

    A delightful setting and a great place to take someone elderly or just to spoil someone. The food was very good but one or two items were not particularly special. Overall, a lovely experience that I would recommend to anyone.

    Drove from Sydney for high tea to celebrate a 70th Birthday. Absolutely beautiful afternoon, ambience was perfect and staff brilliant especially the lovely touch of a birthday cake, totally unexpected. Only downfall are the awful scones, but despite that I will certainly be returning.
