The Tasting Room - CITYCENTRE Ratings and Reviews
My visit was pretty useless. The menu is pretty terrible now. My cousin is allergic to eggs and literally everything on the brunch menu contains eggs and no alternatives. Don't suggest a salad because if she wanted a salad that's what she would've ordered from the beginning. I just don't really like the place any longer.
The food was incredible, our group of 6 ordered a variety from the menu and everything came out great. Our server had a great attitude, however he was not familiar with the wines and said be would send someone over who could help, also said we could order a custom wine flight, but then came back and said they couldn't do that. And the promised person knowledgeable about wines never came to the table. I blame the management for their poor training of staff. When the food was brought out, the runner delivered the steak dishes without being able to tell us which was cooked medium and which was medium rare. Again, very poor training by management.
When the weather is nice, we like to sit on the outside patio because it's usually quieter and we can talk. The patio was LOUDER than inside the restaurant due to several speakers in the area. Music was turned up so loud we had to raise our voices in order to hear each other. Requests to turn the volume down were ignored.
Booked via Open Table for 6. Then called the restaurant to increase to 10, told it wasn't a problem but when we arrived table was reserved only for 6 people. Not an issue as it wasn't busy.
Seated, offered menus and we asked for a few minutes before ordering drinks. Then we waited, and waited and although not busy we had to have someone go look for a server after waiting more than 20 mins.
We were told we couldn't order from regular lunch menu only the brunch menu although a couple at a table nearby seemed to manage to order from the lunch menu?
Service was incredibly slow, not particularly helpful and we left disappointed overall.
Food was ok but I wouldn't say that any of us would hurry back.
Wait staff lacked severely, this once was a place I would frequent. I will definitely not be coming back. I've had parties here for work, taken many clients here for lunch and dinner. After today, I don't believe I will give my business to them again. So disappointing, this used to be a great place.
The Tasting Room at CityCentre went above and beyond my expectation for my business meeting. And this hands down was the best experience that I have ever had with OpenTable. It began with a hostess calling to welcome and confirm my reservation and asking the nature of the visit. Since I was hosting a business meeting, I requested for a table towards a corner and a time reservation for 7:45pm for a Wednesday evening. When I arrived, the reservation was held as to be expected which turned out to be perfect since it was the only "Open Table" in the restaurant. The server was knowledgeable and made great recommendations with regards to their newly redesigned menu that included stellar craft cocktails. Way to knock it out of the park! Will definitely be hosting future business meetings there.
The service was great. Giovanni was our server and he was great. The charcuterie cheese board was really good. The sweet potato chipotle puree was creamy with a hint of spice. The steak was tender seasoned and juicy. Unfortunately the pork chop was dry, but the manager did come to the table to discuss the order and worked with us. I did order a to go order of the pork chop for a family member and the pork chop was dry again. Overall the food was good and I would return.
I have been to the Tasting Room Uptown location for my bridal shower and everything was wonderful. Unfortunately at this location the service was horrible the restaurant was not packed around 130-200 for Mother's Day and it took forever to get me and my family's meal and we watched other tables get their entrees that came in after us. The waitress did not check on us occasionally my grandmother complained to the manager and she comped our mimosas, but I just think this was unacceptable.
Made reservations for Mother's Day brunch. Restaurant called day before of dining to confirm reservation which lead me to believe place would be crowded and they wanted to ensure proper staffing When we arrived at restaurant it was not half full, yet the wait time once seated for the waiter to come to our table took 10 minutes. Went worse from there once order was taken. Food took forever. Was cold when delivered. Wrong food after all. Informed manager who had the sense of urgency of a turtle. No way he should be in service business. Waiter said they were being slammed on Mother's Day. Really, the place wasn't busy and the brunch menu was essentially fixed at eggs or French toast. I'm a patient guy and I don't care to write a bad review - but this was really bad. Never again at the Tasting Room - City Centre. Happy Mother's Day
I already sent feedback as soon as I returned home but I will reiterate. I have been to The Tasting Room on Mother's Day of 2016 and was very pleased with the food. Unfortunately, when I returned with my son on Easter Sunday 2017, I was extremely disappointed. We had a seating at 10:00 AM and nothing was ready, many people came to apologize for the inconvenience but, we didn't start until 10:15 AM. I was disappointed in the offering of food, the meat was luke warm at best and the other offerings were less then appetizing, especially at a cost of $45 per person. We were offered mimosa's and water, no juice or coffee for brunch. I have to say I have had a better complimentary breakfast at a hotel, then this buffet. Like I said the Mother's Day menu was fabulous and my suggestion would be to either offer a regular menu or put some of the amazing dishes that are on your menu, on the buffet. That's what I was looking forward to and unfortunately didn't receive.
We had an early supper at 4:30pm so no problems with traffic or noise in the restaurant. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about wines and food. We had crab cake, French onion soup, and a pork topping pizza; all very good especially the pizza. Creme brulee could have been a llttle more creamy. A little on the high $ side.
Sadly didn't even stay. It was a very long day, walked in to a very loud musician. There was a group of us, we were seated very close to the speakers in a mostly empty restaurant. It was so loud there was no way we could have even had a conversation. The waiter did not show to the table for several minutes after we arrived he dropped of menus and left for quite sometime again. This was plenty of time for us to decide that we did not plan on staying. Didn't even stay for a drink. Had I known prior to arriving there was live music we would have made alternate arrangements.
The Tasting Room in City Centre is nicely located at the north edge of the shopping area. The food choices are great. I had crab cake and also salmon sliders. Loved both.
Server was attentive, personable and just chatty enough.
Of course, the wine selection is amazing.
Service was terrible. Their menu has really become generic compared to what it used to be. The charcuterie board had cheese portions literally for a mouse. The pizza was supposed to have Italian sausage and it was definitely hamburger meat and when I told the server he said I was wrong. Disappointing it used to be some of the best!
