Really great atmosphere, fantastic cocktails and service. Would definitely return.
Food and service were wonderful. The pricey entrees were the downfall and a $40 corkage fee.
The tasting menu was too much food for two. The server should have advice us about what to order. The service was good but a bit slow. The overall experience was very good because of the food.
We went to the Tasting Kitchen to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first visit to the restaurant, and we were not disappointed. Our dinners were nicely seasoned, prepared and presented. We shared a good radicchio salad, then I had taglierini with shrimp that was quite good, and my wife's branzino was cooked perfectly. But it was the apple crostota dessert that knocked us out (truly memorable). We'll be back.
Menu was confusing. We ordered three cheeses and got about a tablespoon of each and cost about $45.00. Total rip-off. Pasta was good but small portion and overpriced for $30.00 for a bowl of pasta. Very loud. Would not go back. Picked it because of the great reviews but disappointed.
Food is always perfect and delicious!
Tasting Kitchen has a cool and lively vibe but the food was not memorable and the prices were. Definitely overpriced. I would only recommend this for the scene.
Great food and amazing dessert
Some of the best pasta we ever had in the U.S. Delicious and unusual taste + presentation.
Very hip vibe. Pasta was outstanding. Service was a little discombobulated.
I was really hopeful for this place, since it's so close & seemed to have a good vibe. Unfortunately, the food was BAD, and the portions were tiny (bread plate sized), for the price.
The "fresh" pasta was old & freezer-burned, the mozzarella (in the grilled pumpkin caprese) was hard & stringy, and the panna cotta was at least a week old, and had lost all of its flavor.
My second time here - absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in LA!
You go for the food. Not that the other elements of the total experience aren’t up to snuff. It’s a beautiful decor, the service is extremely accommodating and the prices are expensive but not through the roof and given the quality of the food, they’re warranted. Overall it’s a fun, gastronomically satisfying experience. It’s worth going.
Best restaurant in LA
Unbelievably overpriced crappy food. Our pasta dishes were bland and cost $30 a pop. We got spinach expecting pan fried spinach and garlic in olive oil but the dish included vinegar and peppers which made a classic dish inedible.
Best restaurant in LA
awesome food, fantastic service, a little loud at times.
The food drinks were well made, the food is obviously the product of a lot of time and consideration.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in LA! Highly recommend the tasting menu for brunch or dinner (they just bring you the courses with fresh ingredients, different menu every day).
Best Restaurant in Southern California!!! My second time there, first was several years ago. Did not disappoint. Make sure you get the tasting menu and let them do their magic.
Great food, great place, but the waitress was way too aggressive and unaccommodating. We asked her for a 50 dollar bottle of red wine and she brought out a bottle worth 80 dollars and started opening it. Rude and unprofessional.
Overpriced for the whole experience! The menu is built for upselling which translates into a hefty bill and is the only souvenir you take home.
Very disappointing. We were seated upstairs, very noisy. Food was really not deserving of LA Eaters essential LA restaurants. It was just okay, nothing special or inspiring at all. To top it all off, we bought the special $100 pasta with white truffles and truly, could not even taste the truffle until someone at our table finally thought he found one. This eatery’s time in the sun is way past.
Disappointed in the food. We had dinner here about 2 months ago and were also disappointed then also, but decided to give it another chance as every place has off-nights. It was just not very well executed. Uninspired dishes with ingredients that were often overcooked or undercooked. Cold mozzarella with a too-sweet squash as appetizer. Fish that was flavourless and overdone with hard sun chokes. We would have told the waiter, but we did complain last time, and they graciously re-did our tasting menu. But it was still not great. The kitchen feels like its in trouble.
Amazing food all the time, service is good but can be better.
Maybe we came here on an off night. The food was fantastic but the service was not. I had originally made my reservation for upstairs at nine o'clock PM, but wasn't notified on the the phone that the upstairs dining room closes at nine. We ended up getting the worst seat in the restaurant which was stuck in the corner next to the entrance. Table was also wobbly and the server kept saying she'd fix it but never did. Furthermore, the table wasn't cleaned properly beforehand: I discovered halfway through the dinner that i'd been sitting in a piece of gum attached to my chair.
The server also repeatedly tried to push certain items on us while we were ordering, and suggested we purchase a bottle of wine multiple times even though we had said from the get go we weren't interested. The experience was really uncomfortable which is a shame, because the food really was so excellent. Compliments to the chef, but the service here needs serious help.
I have been here for dinner and it was wonderful. Tried brunch & was disappointed. The food served was not hot & the service was not good. The prices for brunch are high for what you get. I will pass on brunch and go some place else next time.
Love this place! Favorite restaurant. I frequently will go for dinner, and then again for brunch the next day.
Thought it was ok - it’s a scene and the food is ok. Very greasy in my opinion for eggs and toast.
Outstanding!! It was very noisy. We had to move tables assay from a large group that were was too loud.
Service was very slow and it was very hot upstairs
Really delicious food in a fun and happening spot.
The service is exceptional with a lot of detail in the menu.
Staff was non accommodating. It was all about the chefs needs and not the customer.
Nice and very trendy atmosphere. Food is a bit oily.
Great food and ambiance
Loved the food!!!! Octopus was 🔥🔥🔥
I loved this restaurant. The food was amazing, everything we ate was delicious. The service was great too - our server was very helpful in finding us the right bottle of wine so that everyone was happy! The only negative was that the pasta dishes are very small. They were SO good that I wanted to keep eating!
Despite the tiny table and how they turned us away and said 1 hour wait, but then had a rez on Open Table that we nabbed 10 mins from then, it didn’t disappoint. The $75 3 course tasting menu was a ridiculous amount of food, delicious food. And their cocktails a la Justin Pike are ridiculous. Highly recommended for a date night or night out with friends, if those friends are foodies with money.
Everything is fantastic, very tasty and very enjoyable. The service is great and so is the ambience. I wish they had some slightly cheaper wine options to offer those that are after a great time but can't afford to be that opulent.
Great food but the server was terrible
