The tasting kitchen posted I was a no show on open table which is incorrect. Whoever is responsible for reservation review made a mistake on my attendance.

The food was really good! The only thing I didn't love was the scallop crudo, wasn't exciting, I thought I thought it needed more flavor, and the pieces were cut a bit too thick for my liking. It's pretty pricey, appetizers are over $20. We both got pasta entrees, both very good. They have a fun cocktail menu. Service is good and quick. My biggest complaint would have to be how extremely loud is it inside, you borderline have to shout to talk to the person across the table from you.

I would be happy to review this property, but am getting frustrated at the way in which this site operates. I can never tell whether I am booking through open table or not, even if I am directed to your site and as a result I never seem to be awarded any dining points for booking.

Tasting menu at $75 is overpriced for quality of food. Very salty and not much variety.
Deserts were good.

Bread, drinks and appetizers were awesome. The pastas were both quite over salted, and I tend to like salty food. We've eaten here multiple times - this dinner seemed to be an exception to the normally otherwise fantastic restaurant.

Abbot Kinney is a great strolling street. We thought we made a good lunch choice. Unfortunately, we sat too close to the music and I missed a lot of our conversation. The menu is interesting but I wasn't thrilled with most of the choices. My chicken salad sandwich was the greasiest and messiest one I've ever had, a two napkins sandwich, and I've enjoyed other croque madames more than this one. I would definitely go back but I'll pay more attention to what I order. We enjoyed the ambiance.

The Tasting Kitchen remains a go-to spot for a fun dinner out. The atmosphere is a little loud, but it's a great place for drinks and the food is always good. My favorite way to enjoy this place is at the communal tables, having small bites with drinks.

The service was great and food was oh so delicious! The staff was very knowledgeable. I love this space. I’ve had drinks here years ago and couldn’t wait to get back and check out their dinner. So tasty and well executed. Will have to try chefs choice next time.

Great Birthday Dinner. Chose the 3 course tasting menu. Everything was good, EXECPT for the second course pork. Inedible. Wiggly, weird texture, overall unappealing. BUT it was actually a minor hiccup because the rest of the courses were delicious and the service was so attentive, friendly but never hovering that we still loved the experience. Wish I would have remembered the servers name because she was pretty great.

Having enjoyed the restaurant many times, I was disappointed in our meal and experience. My pasta was tough and not that tasty. My dinner companion sent back her first glass of $18 a glass wine because it was nearly flavorless. Very loud and not that pleasant. Not sure I would go back.

The meal started off promising. We did the 5 course tasting menu. At about the 3rd course, the service and food took a very sharp decline. Our waitress wouldn't even look us in the eye, ask if we needed anything, etc. The 5th course was by far the worst. It took about 25 minutes and was just some kind of frozen looking apple fritter. Horrible way to end the evening! Clearly something was going on in the kitchen, but no one bothered to tell us what was up, so we were just left in the corner. Definitely not worth the $400 price tag. Won't be going back.

Noise level was much too loud. Our server stood right next to our table to explain the menu and I could not hear 10% of what she said. I could barely have a conversation with those sitting at the our table. The table next to me was too close, and the guy sitting there was talking so loud, it made the experience not very enjoyable.

This is a unique dining experience that should not be missed. The service was impeccable, which is rare in the restaurant world today. We literally had a server attentive to us during the entire dining experience. The food was beyond delicious..each item uniquely prepared. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for food is because I didn't care for the salty branzino...it was too salty. I wasn't crazy about the first course having an appetizer of all beets...I love beets but this was too much in the way of beets. The meat dishes were amazing, the pasta with shrimp, mussels, appetizer of lentils and desserts were beyond amazing. It may seem pricey at first but the experience of being able to taste so many things that feel as though they are prepared exclusively for YOU makes it worth the price...plus you have plenty of food. We went there at the request of our milleniel son to celebrate his birthday and I requested a table to sit downstairs. After we were seated one of the manangers saw that we were a bit cramped for 3 in our table...and saw my unhappy face. I didn't want to upset my son on his birthday by complaining...like all moms tend to do. He came over and offered us a table upstairs. I mean who is that nice in the restaurant world today. We actually loved sitting upstairs! A very special place to celebrate our son's birthday that I highly recommend.

This is my second time going to the tasting kitchen.
We made reservations weeks ago knowing that it’s a popular place. We arrived 20 minutes early so we could have a drink at the bar, and the host said as soon as the other couple arrived we could be seated, that our table was ready. Before we could make our way to the bar, our friends showed up and the host again said your table is ready and tried to seat us. Once more, being way early, we said we wanted to have a drink at the bar first. After getting our drinks and starting to catch up with our friends, the host comes over and says she is ready to seat us, insisting we be seated . We still had 10 minutes before our reservations. I really don’t understand the rush to get us to our table...
The food is great, however it’s called the “tasting” kitchen because that’s all you get is a taste. Twice I was led astray by the portion size. being told the serving was large enough to share and yet was barely enough for one. Go, but go prepared.

A local stand by for good reason. While the rest of Abbott Kinney is constantly changing, this staple has managed to not just hang in there, but flourish (even in the face of significant new competition). I’ve eaten here a half dozen times over the past year and each visit has been fantastic. I’ve eaten the tasting menu each time, and while things change with the seasons, the food quality is unfailingly excellent. Can’t go wrong with the drinks menu or the wine list either. Their sommelier Ivan was accommodating and helped us pick delicious wines to go with each course. I’ll be back soon enough!
