The Tasting Kitchen
The menu changes daily and exemplifies our scratch kitchen philosophy, with pastas made by hand daily, meats cured
in-house, produce from the local farmers' market, and everything made and sold the same day.
We offer handcrafted neo-classical food, epic design and atmosphere, and service that is both a guide and companion throughout the experience. Come, ask questions, and enjoy
All good was perfect. Service was perfect.
The service was great!
I love this place. Very comfortable setting and decorated in rustic Venice wood tones. The food was very good. We had three salads: Burrata, Shisito Peppers and tomato, all fresh and tasty. The Pasta dishes were wonderful too! I particularly likes the pasta with Shrimp and garlic. Best of all the service was exceptional. Elizabeth took great care of us and made the night very easy and pleasant.
We had a gorgeous time for my cousin’s birthday! Exceptional across the board!
4 of us did the 3 course Tasting Menu
We had so much food
Everything was really great
Loved the dinning area, so beautifully lit with the tree
Feels like you’re outside
Every aspect of our experience was delightful. We brought friends who were new to this restaurant and they were wowed. The service, the setting and the amazing food are a winning combination.
For special occasions with a casual ambience, waitress was extremely friendly & helpful . Being from the UK & with a low dollar exchange we found it extremely pricey although food was exceptional.
Service was terrible. Took 1.5 to get our food.
Couldn’t get anyone’s attention for about 25 minutes. Service was disinterested. We ordered two cocktails, a mock tail, a bottle of wine, two apps and three mains so it wasn’t like we weren’t there for the full deal. Not sure why - maybe the teenager we had with us turned them off. Food was very good however.
The tasting kitchen is a place for young urban people, quite a posh place. Interior is nice. Food is good, but the portions are small and quite expensive. The menu is not very understanding: what to eat at which moment? The service is alright, but a bit formal.
Disappointing dinner here last night.
We’ve eaten here before & loved it but after last nights experience I won’t be back.
We ordered 1 starter which arrived very fast then waited 40 minutes for our entrees .
When I told our server the pasta was cold he Argued with me & said a cold cream was drizzled over the pasta & ‘ that’ was cold !!! No, the pasta was cold. All the food was under seasoned . We had great expectations for the steak with marrow - big miss.
There are so many restaurants in Venice , sadly this is off our rotation .
The drinks at TK are consistently some of the best on the west side. Then there's a few dishes that stand out.. the Branzino is fantastic.. and the gnocco fritto with buratta is ridiculous! (Get the aged balsamic too!). This place never gets old.. ooh and ask for the secret menu drinks. :)
Kent, Lom and Ivan are always so gracious and fun they make the visit worthwhile. Still our fave place on abbot Kinney.
One of my favorite restaurants and always an incredible dining experience! We had a group of five and the only issue was splitting the checks in which a few of us were overcharged, but the food, atmosphere and wine list are superb.
Excellent food, superior wine list, and server, Layla, delivered a superb experience. Every plate revealed flavors and tastes that were delicious.
Met up with some friends for brunch. We wanted a hip spot that was conveniently located on Abbot Kinney Blvd. It had an awesome atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was amazing.
Great atmosphere and amazing food!
Wait staff too pushy trying to up sell on everything. Not great choices unless you wanted to do the tasting menu.
Great service and great food!!!
This is my go to place when I know I want a good meal + ambiance.
Have you ever gotten aroused while dining and it wasn’t bc someone touched your no-no spot? Well this is the spot that will do it. The space is beautiful. Service is attentive and natural. Food is legit. I recommend everyone come here. Then come again.
Great experience from start to finish
This was my first time dining at The Tasting Kitchen. Their menu is seasonal and changes with what is current. I am vegetarian and I thoroughly enjoyed their lentil dish and fabulous salad. My dining partner had the charcuterie and choice of three kinds of cheese. She said it was fabulous! Great tasking drinks. Wonderful service. We will return.
good old go to place. food is consistently good and so is service.
I wanted this to be so good! My spouse and I got the tasting menu. Would not recommend at all. Three of the ten dishes were good, but one was totally inedible and had to be returned. The service was fantastic and the drinks were great, but the cost vs skill of the tasting menu did not add up. Flavors were hard-hitting: either too sweet sauces or too salty, other flavors overwhelmed. Overall, the dishes needed a lot of editing. The house amaro was lovely, though.
We've eaten at the tasting kitchen a few times and always love the food, however, this experience was less than ideal.
I booked the reservation on Open Table a month or so out and mentioned it was a for a birthday. When the Tasting Kitchen called to confirm my reservation, I reiterated the birthday message and asked / expected to receive a nice table (nothing special, we were a party of three).
When we arrived we were pointed towards, what we felt was the worst table in the restaurant. Just off the entryway, next to a giant beam and a foot or so away from the hostess stand. Not what we were expecting or hoping for. We asked to wait for another table and mentioned the birthday / reservation request. The hostess pushed back and said that the table is/was many patrons favorite. Not sure how/why many people would love it, but no matter, we didn't like it. We were willing to be patient.
The next table we were offered (and ultimately sat at) was up on the 2nd floor. It seemed perfect. Unfortunately, what we didn't realize until we were seated and looking over the menu, was that we were situated between two large tables that were actually one party....
It was awkward and at times annoying as guests of the party were constantly getting up and moving around to talk to their friend at the opposite table (I don't blame them and would do the same in such a circumstance). Since we were in the middle of the two tables (and the only non-affiliated table) we found it odd we were there. Maybe the party had a few guests cancel and the connecting table (our spot) was recirculated to other guests? Everything else was fine, but loosing the game of table roulette left us with an overall underwhelming experience.
Comfort food, great wine selection. Enjoyable ambience after work.
Muy lindo lugar
drinks way too expensive
small plates best
desserts hit the spot but, eh
We visited The Tasting Kitchen and had such a wonderful meal, we returned a week later. We started with incredible olives - and we eat a lot of olives! Then we shared a salumi and burrata board and the delicious bread basket. On my first visit I had a yummy cod dish and the second a homemade pasta dish. The others in our party had pasta and loved every bite.
Had a romantic evening celebrating our anniversary, I requested a quote table and that’s exactly what we got. It was a wonderful experience
Not a fan. Food was average, very overpriced. Service was slow but glad we went, won't be going back.
A wonderful night, I came with expectations and this exceeded expectations. I am a foodie that has eaten at many great restaurants around the globe and Tasting Kitchen gets high marks from me. I will return next time I am in LA
A great experience and they were very flexible when one of our party was delayed. Good selection of cocktails enjoyed while we waited
always a treat coming here
Awesome all around. Great pastas. Excellent wine options and cocktails are some of the best around
The Tasting Kitchen has amazing food with the best ambiance. It is the best kept secret.
I recommend this restaurant because it has great, energetic ambience, but I hesitate to go anymore (I have been at least 12 times) because it is so very expensive and not all the dishes are good. We had a lobster pasta where the lobster was overcooked and chewy and the pasta was soft and overdone. We ordered a gin and tonic, with barely perceptible gin. For the price, not happy.
