Not up to its former level. The food (particularly the striped bass entree) disappointed and our waiter was, well, a bit off. Hard to imagine going back.
Fantastic food and drinks. Staff is very helpful.
I hadn’t been to Tasting Kitchen in a couple of years and the quality has declined overall. Service was great, but good service can’t make up for poor food. We also had a very long wait between our appetizers and main course.
Wonderful tasting! The food was delicious and ambiance great. Courses came out too quickly for my taste and I think they should tell customers what the main will be, rather than leave it a mystery. My husband and son really wanted the pork and were warned that it may not happen in the main, but elsewhere in the courses. I don’t think that was enough info considering the pork came as a ragu over the pasta course. It was delicious but not what we were hoping for or requested. Overall, a fun and tasty evening and the experience made for a great birthday party
Chefs need to stop getting too fancy and stick to basics
$300 later the only thing good was bread and butter.
No question, do the TTK Dinner. You absolutely get bang for your buck and you get to try a ton of different dishes!
TTK was an incredible experience,
Overpriced across the board, ribs and pasta were okay (not amazing, considering the price point), cocktails were too salty, not spicy (requested to be spicy) and almost $20 (for a small, margarita...). Host was flexible with our party as we were running late. Staff were attentive but we had too many people waiting on us so they doubled up their efforts. Space lighting and woodwork is beautiful however the brightly lit mural outside the glass wall (behind the gauze curtain) is distracting and disrupts the cohesiveness of the space. We were given one menu for two people which was nearly unreadable due to poor font choice. Overall, an expensive and awkward dining experience at no fault of the support staff.
Waitress was great but some of the food was just okay.
Really enjoyed the food, staff, and ambiance. I'll be back.
Wonderful service and delicious food! Our server went through every item on the menu with us and had excellent food and drink knowledge. The cocktails were DELICIOUS and I highly recommend the parakeet and English garden. Ambiance is super cool and this is a great place to bring friends or a date.
Seriously an amazing restaurant. Could use a few more entree options but all the food we had was so yummy.
Been here 10 or so times now. Consistently amazing food and service even in the COVID era. If you want the full experience you should do the tasting menu. A bit pricey but well worth it and you’d better come hungry! I don’t drink but their bar program and wine bar are no joke. Cocktails look delicious; the wine list varies and is extensive. Make a reservation and sit outside where you can take in the atmosphere of Abbott Kinney, and count the number of dogs walking by. 10/10 experience as always, see you again soon!
Rude host, incompetent, inattentive server. The lack of service for a $300. meal was inexcusable. The food was good, but overpriced. A steak priced at $38 was three small slices. We were waving our arms to gain the attention of the server who had his arms wrapped around the heat lamp schmoozing with other guests. If it wasn't so infuriating it would have been funny.
Matt was the best server dver
It was ok. Not as I remembered it. The service was particularly problematic. The menu seemed a bit limited.
Delicious food, beautiful indoor setting. A fun night out!
I used to love Tasting Kitchen and wanted to try it again - this was my first time back in years and sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed by my latest experience. The ambiance and service were impeccable as always, but the food was a bit lacking, esp for the high prices.
Food was really good but they brought us/charged us for bottled water without asking and then added $10 for a side of Parmesan for the pasta (again without asking)
One of my favorite places. So glad they survived Covid Armageddon. Like everywhere in LA though, their prices have definitely gone up but so worth it.
The Tasting Kitchen is absolutely one of the most delicious restaurants in LA. So far, to me, it is at the top of any city’s culinary marvels.
The food has a freshness and delicate genius of flavor.
Maybe you don’t want to pay for bread. But I’m telling you, PAY FOR THE BREAD. The homemade butter alone is worth it.
Oh, the pasta? Consistently the best I’ve ever had.
Matt, Ivan and crew were fabulous. Made our party feel comfortable like we were sitting in the home of a good friend. We enjoyed the tasting and found we were delighted by all of the fabulous food. From lamb meatballs to the best crispy fish- everything was amazing!
The server was knowledgeable and gave excellent recommendations. We had a little bit of everything and it was all so good. The taglierini with shrimp and serrano was phenomenal. The NY strip was cooked perfect. Everything was really really good. 10/10
Food was great, service was very friendly and helpful!!!
Everything from service to wine to food to vibe was amazing!
Was good. Felt too rushed while spending $400 on a meal.
Great food! We love doing the tasting menu! Everything is always delicious!
I brought a friend over for the first time and he loved it. The service was excellent and so was the food and wine. Can’t wait to dine in again
We tried the chefs tasting menu which was at the chefs discretion as to what was served.
The food was delicious and the dishes were to share but there was ample food and we were pleasantly surprised.
For $85 each we had 3 large appetizers, a pasta and 2 main courses as well as dessert.
We really enjoyed our date night here and although this was not our first visit it was definitely our most memorable.
Delicious so great at reduced capacity Welcome Back TK
The food and service are always excellent here. Splurge on the bread and butter, it's worth it. The asparagus and burrata salad was incredible too!
First time here so my expectation was mid-range. Heard a lot of great things and didn’t want to compete with Friday/Saturday night crowds, therefore we made a reservation for 5PM on Sunday. I included some notes on the reservation but I believe this was overlooked. Our waiter was kind but I was a little put off by how he was dressed, attire was laid back and not well groomed.
After getting cocktails started, we ordered the aged balsamic with the bread (yum!), and the lamb meatballs to start with. They came out with a gamy taste which was off putting. Presentation was pretty but was disappointed in receiving only 2 of them.
For entrees, we told the waiter we were allergic to a specific ingredient (onions), and ask if we can remove onions from any of the dishes, he confirmed they cannot do any customizations/substitutions. He suggested Cacio e Pepe Tagliatelle and we took his advice. The dish came out with the finally sliced onions. We expressed our concerns and unfortunately he was not caring about it and sharply asked “well, what do you like then?”. Again off putting, so we asked fir another suggestion. So the next dish was a Shrimp Serrano, and it tastes like I was chewing on the ocean. Shrimp seemed to be a few days old.
That said, we decided this place is not best for us and asked for the check. We didn’t eat the entrees. They were accommodating in taking the meatballs & one entree off the bill. So for the 2 cocktails, bread w/balsamic, 2 entrees, we were still over $120.
I wish the best for this place but there are great opportunities for training in Hospitality and perhaps the Culinary Team.
Person in our party had an entire drink spilled on him. Was only comped for one drink. When we spoke to the manager after seeing the bill if they could make be a little more generous as he had to sit in his drink the whole meal, the manager was incredulous and rudely asked us, the diners, what should be taken off the bill, rather than taking the check and making the situation right. Left a poor taste in our mouth after an otherwise pleasant experience.
Great service and really good food. Nice to get out and about.
I order pasta and it was ok, nothing extraordinary. I can actually cook it better myself so disappointing.
Espresso martinis are delicious as was the buratta with beets. The bucatini is a must!
Really lovely restaurant. Phenomenal food and drinks, and the service is always exceptional. TK is my favorite restaurant on the west side!
They just recently reopened for outdoor dining. My first time. Tasting Kitchen lived up to its reputation. Delicious food and excellent service. Nice to be able to have a conversation without excessive noise.
The tasting kitchen had only been open for a day (had been closed during pandemic) and I think they did a fabulous job for being away from the kitchen for so long. I am sure that in a week or two the food will be back to "great" instead of very good.
Service was perfect!
