It felt like a real date again, even in the new normal. The food was excellent and the service, perfect. Abbott Kinney traffic seemed a bit too loud at first as we sat in the parklet, but then blended away as the night continued. Lovely!
Acknowledging the fact that we're in a pandemic, food was delicious, extremely over-priced, and service was poor. Additionally, our server lied and said the city/county of Los Angeles mandates that customers "give up their tables within 90 minutes" (as an excuse for not offering us 2nd drinks or a dessert menu). No such requirement exists. We sat outside on Veterans day, and it was pretty cold. Staff turned our heat lamp down twice, so I eventually turned it back up myself.
Everything was amazing!
Outdoor dining improves this excellent restaurant. A silver lining to difficult circumstances
Excellent food and the Sommelier was so much fun and had the best wine suggestions
The Tasting Kitchen came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The Maltagliati was fantastic and my son’s pork chop was cooked perfectly and the outdoor dining set up for social distancing was lovely. Definitely recommend
Generally it’s very good food and service but it was not good this time. Maybe the B team after the pandemic started rolled in.
Great food. Good service, although a little disappointed they did not acknowledge our wedding anniversary. Drinks are overpriced, good but small.
Given the Circumstances with Covid, this has to be the best restaurant experience possible in the West Los Angeles area.
Food was tasty but service was a mess. When we were seated we had 2 different servers ask for our drink order, someone else came 1 minute later rushing and asking for our food order, and then no consistent server throughout the meal. Seemed bizarre for a place that charges 18% flat service fee on the bill. Probably won't go back. No complaints about food but nothing so special that I would need to return.
Amazing fresh fishies. Everything delicious.
I had : tomato salad
Striped bass
Dinner mate - baby octopus
Hangar steak.
Great drinks too.
Service attentive.
Break and butter is outstanding
The concept is great and the ambiance is wonderful and they’ve done a great job dealing with COVID - but that’s where it ends. The food was okay, the in-house made pasta was great, but the dish it came with lacked flavor. Between two people we ordered five or six plates and two glasses of wine and somehow our bill got into the $200 area. The price wasn’t the problem it’s what we got, under seasoned food that got cold quickly. I’ve been here twice now and that’s enough for me.
Most delicious food ever !!!
We opted for the tasting menu and boy we were not disappointed. Everything thing that came out was better than the next. Oscar waiting on us and the service was impeccable. Truly a magical dining experience. Can’t wait to return.
Great food and great service. Will definitely come back.
frankly very overpriced for what you get—mediocre food overall
Outstanding food, and glad the restaurant was able to provide patio seating. Abbot Kinney is a busy street, so road noise should be expected. Will absolutely eat here again!
My boyfriends chicken was undercooked and overpriced. There were few vegetarian options (only one was on the menu) that were also overpriced. The drinks were about the only decent part of the meal.
food excellent.....atmosphere very good as it was outside and tables were far enough apart to not hear other tables’ conversations. Service was fair.....waiter was nice & polite, however not as attentive as I would’ve liked. Overall it was a lovely meal
Nice job with the outdoor space, although people pass by tables near the sidewalk very close. Great food as always.
Been to this restaurant a few times and used to be a favorite before pandemic! Beautiful outdoor dining but was not impressed by the food (which I used to love). Still a lovely experience, but would not return for the food.
V overpriced for what you get
Our first date night during Covid (& since the birth of our daughter) to celebrate our wedding anniversary, it was perfect! While we waited for our table we were given a small glass of white wine, the outdoor seating with string lights was the perfect ambiance. The food and cocktails so delicious. The environment was safe and service wonderful!
I've been to the Tasting Kitchen probably 3-4 times since I've lived in LA. The food's always been fantastic, but I wasn't sure what to expect since the re-opening during covid. Here to confirm it was better than I could remember! We ordered the bread and butter, frisee radicchio salad, striped sea bass, tagliolini shrimp pasta and cheesecake with fig jam. Everything was SO GOOD!!
Seating is on the curb off Abbot Kinney in front of the restaurant. I was worried it may feel strange and take away from the food experience, but actually, I grew to love it as soon as I sat down.
Thought the service could have been a bit more attentive throughout the night.
Will be back SOON! :)
Anniversary celebrstion
Food sucked! And they didn’t tell us about the 18% included gratuity, glad I noticed
Really cool spot, nice outdoor dining set up. The BREAD AND BUTTER is a must!
They did as well as could be expected serving on the sidewalk. Great food as always though.
TTK is our favorite restaurant. Service is great and the menu always on point. So glad they are open again.
amazing. food drinks and service were phenomenal
Worst Mediterranean food we ever had Not even one dish was tasteful , we took our guest there and were so disappointed and embarrassed
A great night out, loved everything except our table was in the middle of the sidewalk.
Our experience was great. We arrived and our table want ready but the waiter got us a drink while we waited and said a few quiet words to the people who were still seated. Food was very good and it was a very enjoyable evening. Nice to be outside & enjoy a night out!
Love the new al fresco space. New smaller plate menu, same great service. Cocktails are unmatched. Can’t wait to return.
The service and ambience and most of the food was outstanding. I'm not sure if we misunderstood but I thought because we got two tasting menus, every course would be two different items selected by the chef. Three of the course were "combined" which was fine, most of them were really good! My main complaint was the dessert. We got one ginger something bread pudding. It wasn't very good and was visually unimpressive. It seems like dessert should be the easiest course to make incredible. Because it was the last course it kind of ended on a low note. Overall though, really good! I would go back, I just don't think I would do the tasting menu again.
We had brunch here and the food was so so, service was good,
We sat outside and it was romantic.
Had a really nice experience at the Tasting Kitchen. I'm currently a tough customer because I'm pregnant and have gestational diabetes and they were so nice about making a tasting menu that accommodated both and seemed energized by the challenge. The food was delicious and the service was great and attentive. I'd definitely recommend and go back.
I had been before, loved the food and couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately the food was not good. I paid $150 for the truffle dish and only had bite. We sent it back because the pasta was way too al dente and they brought another and it was a little better but I barely ate it. I've had fresh truffle dishes all over LA and don't mind spending the money if its yummy. This was not. Besides the brussels sprouts and bread, none of the food was good. I will say the wait staff were very accommodating and nice. That will not bring me back though with so many great choices.
Been here a few times and this one was my least favorite. The items that’ came out weren’t great. Love love the braveheart cocktail that you can only order off the menu. Hands down the best drink.
