   Fantastic meal and staff were incredibly attentive without being overwhelming or intrusive. The food was exceptional quality and beautifully served, I can understand reviews saying that it is expensive, it is, but for us and for the service and quality received it’s a fair price. The beef tartare is up there in terms of cost, but one of the best I’ve tasted and absolutely must be tried.

   I would have given a five star rating if the serving staff had been more enthusiastic and passionate about the dishes they served. They were friendly but they need better training to make this a memorable experience. Also a charity donation being added to the bill without the opportunity to opt out is not really acceptable. I would have liked to been given the choice.

   Overpriced for the food quality/quantity. A £40 fillet steak, really should come with a complimentary side or two. The food was tasty, but the burger was just a burger, but a £24 one! Staff were very friendly. Venue is lovely. But it feels too expensive when I compare to other places that I have dined. It doesn’t inspire me to return, which is a shame as it’s close to home and a pleasant ambience.

   My wife and I visited the Tartan Fox whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Booking a table online was an easy process. I used satnav to find the restaurant, not sure I’d have found it without. We went straight into the main course without a starter. I chose a 350 gram sirloin steak, my wife chose the 250 gram fillet. These turned out to be ideal choices which suited us both. The sirloin steak was the best I’ve ever had. That’s not an exaggeration, wherever Adam sources his meat is to be complemented. The chef who cooked it deserves a medal. Simply wonderful. We shared charred broccoli, chilli, garlic and rosemary salted chunky chips. The portions were adequate in size for two people and were superb in quality. I didn’t want a sweet but my wife frivolously chose a deep fried Mars bar. She couldn’t manage to eat it all so I had a spoonful. This isn’t a culinary delight we will be repeating, it was more like a tick on the bucket list. Good fun though. Overall this was a very special and memorable meal. There are a number of high profile restaurants in this area of the West Country, we’ve tried them all. The Tartan Fox is the only one I’m determined to re-visit. Thank you to all the staff who made our evening special.

   Overall a disappointing experience. We didn't feel the vegans at our table were well catered for (for starters and mains - the vegan pudding was really nice). The hash browns were very small and cost £9 each! The truffle had absolutely no taste, even when we took a bit off to try it on its own. The music was a bit weird, too loud and also it was odd that the music was piped into the carpark. We were overcharged, and refunded once I had realised but without apology. I have put a more detailed review on Google, but do not have the character allowance to share it here.

    Wonderful Sunday lunch. We tried several different options from each course and everything was exceptional, couldn’t fault a thing! Service was outstanding. Lovely setting and just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We will definitely return should we be that way of the world again!
