   Love a weekend in Harrogate and always a visit to the Tannin Level, but have to say after having Sunday lunch there , this was so disappointing. I choose the pork, when my lunch arrived, 3 Tiny Wafer thin slices of pork, which was tasteless, dry powdery roasties, the veg and gravy which came we thought we were getting one each but no, this was to share. Sorry was really looking forward to our visit, unfortunately we won’t return

   Very pleasant dinner. We arrived early for a Pre-Theatre dinner having not been before. It was very quiet but this was to be expected. We each ordered from the set course menu although there were lots of delicious sounding options on the a la carte. Pate with forced rhubarb and soup of the day were exactly what you would expect. Plenty of Haddock in the deconstructed 'fish pie'. I normally lose interest in the dessert section because it is all usually fairly gluten focused but 4 out of the 5 choices were adapted and the passion fruit pavlova was the highlight of my meal. The menu was very well set out with allergens clearly listed and easy to understand. Overall, the set menu was very good value for money. I did however feel slightly aggrieved that I didn't have chance to try some of the more interesting plates on the full menu (there are worse problems to have!). Service was friendly and prompt. As we were leaving, the place was starting to fill up and was developing a bit of an atmosphere. Highly recommended for a quick early dinner or special occasion.

   took my brother and his wife out to dinner here on Tuesday last and wee all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Choices on the menu were wide and varied. The service was perfect and we had a very enjoyable evening. Only criticism I would make is that the noise level , and it was not so busy, does make it difficult for us oldies to hear all the conversation at our table comfortably.

   I thought The Tannin Level was exceptional. We received a warm welcome and were seated quickly. The food, service, ambience, everything about the place is just fantastic. You can see why the restaurant has been there since '85, its a gem. I would recommend a visit here if you are looking for a place to enjoy lunch or dinner, I couldn't fault anything, not one thing.

   Varied and interesting menu with lots of locally sourced ingredients - the chef really cares about what they are cooking! Very attentive service - this restaurant is an absolute banker and we will definitely be visiting again.

   We are regular visitors to this lovely restaurant. It’s got a lovely ambience for couples or groups. The staff are exceptional and the food is beautifully presented and tasty. We ate from the midweek menu which had good choices and we both really enjoyed the haddock fish pie and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for !!! We will be back !!
