Welcome to The Tannery Bar & Bistro, we look forward to seeing you.

The Tannery Bar & Bistro is our casual, family friendly dining area serving a wide selection of dishes using only the freshest local ingredients.

The Bar & Bistro are open Monday -Friday 12-9pm and 12-8pm on Sundays.

Please note the Bistro is located on the first floor and we do not have a lift. The Bar is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible.

When making a reservation for Sunday lunch please specify in the 'Special Requests' whether you prefer the Bistro or The Sunday Carvery (12.30-3.30pm)

I love the tannery, always such lovely food and friendly staff. I got burns from the gravy and the chef put some gel on and wrapped it in cling film which was very kind.

Food was nice enough, though steaks were cooked a little on the rare side. Sadly though, for the price, we found it to be just a bit average. Perhaps our experience was affected by the staff who, in the main, couldn’t really be arsed.. On two separate drink orders an item was forgotten and the waitress who brought the food to the table was genuinely miserable.

Nice to drop in to the informal upstairs bistro now & then. Very busy Saturday evening (car park almost full), apparently due to the online booking service not having been limited. We were still seated in a few minutes. Food & service were very good in spite of the crowd. Flat Iron steak was excellent. Only minor complaint was that the ceiling lighting directly above the table wasn't working.

Lovely setting, the food is cooked beautifully and delicious. A little bit of a long wait for our meal but made up for it with good service and taste. Good timing with the birthday cake and made it a lovely experience. Staff are friendly and professional. Thank you so much to all for making my daughters 10th birthday a great day.

We enjoyed a very nice family meal on Christmas Eve. The food was great. The staff was friendly. Our only complaint was that the service was extremely slow! The restaurant was not busy as we were one of only a few tables seated at the time and it was an early meal reservation. It took quite sometime for our food to come out and drinks were not topped or seconds offered during that time. Luckily we were not in a hurry and could be patient.

Firstly I had pre booked the chop house three weeks prior to receiving an email saying had to move us to bistro because of private party! Elderly parents anniversary..stairs were an issue. Very hot, noisy and crowded!Table of 6, had to get up look for waitress to order drinks. Waitress almost spilt pepper sauce over my father, no apology! Just grinned. Meal was just okay, nothing special. Toilets were terrible.
