We are a globally inspired, locally sourced, small business in the Short North Arts District. We work closely with farmers, urban gardeners and other local creatives to bring you the freshest, seasonal and sustainable produce & meats. Our motley staff, takes pride in creating charcuterie & baked goods in-house.
This was my second visit to The Table. I like the eclectic and sophisticated menu. Sang, who waited on us was very hospitable and provided A+ service.
It was a beautiful Summer night so we ate in the breezeway. The restaurant was not busy at all for a Saturday night. The servers were very attentive. As has been the case whenever we've eaten here, the food comes out slowly due to the kitchen size. But the execution of the food was excellent. My guess is that with the competition in the Short North the prices are keeping people away, as they are on the higher end. But we've never been disappointed here.
Great place to try new flavor profiled, good wines and an attentive staff. Noise volume was conducive to conversation. We will be back.
Cured meats cheeses great. I got pad thai, its just zucchini spirals with some peppers, nothing specail at all. Which suprised me i guess i just expected better. The drinks were ok again expected a bit more. The lacked flavor very netural.
Overall i was disappointed. But a friend got the octopus and he loved it.
Again meats and cheeses to me where the way to go!
Hi Tracie, Sorry to hear you did not enjoy our Pad Thai. We use produce sourced from local farmers with our twist on global comfort foods. Our Pad Thai is definitely not a traditional presentation but is a Summer favorite of many of our guest. Not every dish is for every guest. We do hope you give us another try!! -Jen
They had an excellent and varied menu! The meals were so good that we sampled each others entrees.
We sat on the breezeway / patio and the weather was perfect, the food was excellent, and we couldn't have had a better experience.
Delicious, most locally sourced, rustic charming environment. Great service! Composting soon?
Food was creative. Bill adds up quickly. Space could use a makeover (nicely put).
Excellent food - desserts could have been a bit better (utilizing more of fresh seasonal ingredients - cake was a bit too hard/frozen). I do wish that for the clientele they are attracting they did a bit more in terms of cloth napkins etc - paper napkins seem a bit too cheap in contrast to the pricing/atmosphere.
Great variety for vegetarians which is very rare in Columbus so that is a huge plus.
Wine bottle prices are a tad steep - some less expensive options would be appreciated.
Great place- great food
Food is exceptionally good!
Had a bad-good experience with a Columbus restaurant called The Table. This is a restaurant using locally-sourced food that we've been to once before.
On today's visit, I ordered the steak and egg sandwich. The first sign of trouble was when the waiter returned to say that the menu was misprinted. The sandwich would not be $10, but would be $16. That struck me as too much, but given the reputation of the restaurant, and our previous good experience, I decided to splurge. I figured this must be the greatest steak and egg sandwich ever.
Alas, it was not. The "steak" was an inedible piece of shoe leather, flavorless and shot through with gristle. It was so tough, I could barely cut it. Really appallingly bad. So much so that I almost laughed out loud that a respectable restaurant would serve such bad food and ask $16 for it. Especially considering that you get a better piece of steak in a McDonald's Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel that sells for $5.19.
The waiter noticed that I had stopped eating and had left most of the steak at the side of the plate and asked about it. I politely told him it was inedible. He took it away and discussed it with the owner of the restaurant. The good news is, I wasn't charged for the meal.
Unique Restaurant and Menu Choices
Had the Charcuterie for 2 and Split the Short Ribs ... Charcuterie per my date was awesome, I didn't care for some of the strong flavors. Short Ribs were awesome.
Wonderful casual ambiance.
Restaurant was busy, bar area wasn't ... which tells me it's possible to pop in for a drink and/or dinner spur of the moment.
Food was not good. Never had a worse Caesar salad. Far too expensive for what we got. We will never return. We are not opposed to paying 50 to 75 per person, but expect to get whet we pay for.
The Table needs to have a milk substitute; cream, coconut milk etc... for coffee.
I’ve been to the table before and it was fabulous. We went as a table of nine and everything that could go wrong did. Service delayed and continuously did not show up. The drinks were warm or not served until 30 minutes later. The food was 1 hour later and mediocre. I was entirely disappointed because the ambiance and concept is gold. I don’t think I will ever go back nor recommend.
Great farm to table concept, homey and with reasonable portion sizing. Loved it!
Excellent food and service! The food was casual fine dining at it's best. All of the food ordered by my party was excellent and fresh.
Wonderful food and an all-together great experience
Father 's day Brunch
The menu sounded good. We all found something that we thought we would like. I was disappointed that, being a brunch-and seeing breakfast pastries on the menu-that the only offering was bread pudding! Sorry, bread pudding is not a pastry. Our server did say they were out of turnovers-if you're serving brunch, have enough turnovers (especially if that's the only offering) to last through brunch service!! We did order-and then sat there for 40 minutes waiting for our food. What took so long? I have absolutely no idea. Our server finally noticed we didn't have any food and stepped around the counter to find out what was going on. Never any explanation but someone screwed up somewhere. When we finally did get our food, everyone was very disappointed in the quality of the preparation. My husband had Shrimp and Grits and he said the grits were not cooked properly and they were liquidy. There was also an overcooked egg on top he had not asked for. My son said his hamburger was awful-way overcooked (he had requested medium when asked how he wanted it). My daughter ordered the Shakshuka and said it was pretty bad, egg cooked improperly and just not flavorful. Mine was probably the best in what was a dismal Father's day celebration--mediocre Mac and cheese. All in all, the meal was not good at all, and having to wait so long for poorly prepared food was just adding insult to injury. I do not recommend this place. The menu far exceeded their capability of putting out a good meal.
Lunch for Father’s Day was great! My parents are vegetarian and they had several options. The Indian inspired dishes like the Akouri were flavorful with a afterhit of heat. The salad was tasty, fresh and lightly dressed. The shashuka (tomato stew) with poached eggs was delicious and served with homemade pita bread.
The food was very good. Service was poor. As we experience many places today, some younger waitstaff seem more concerned with socializing with each other than keeping an eye on their tables.
Something different for ambiance and menu. Exactly what we wanted!
Amazing!! Had the vegetable akoori which was unbelievably delicious. Food fresh and homemade. Highly recommend!
One of my all time favorites! The food is fresh and delicious and there is something for everyone
We love the inventive and delicious dishes. I have been to visit 4 times in the last 6 months and had something new each time. The atmosphere is casual and fun.
Great, creative food. Would definitely visit again. Waiter should have better grasp of ingredients, e.g. fish variety with the deviled eggs.
Excellent and creative food.
Service a bit slow at first but when asked the server to help meet our time commitment and turn on the fan for air circulation, he promptly and cheerfully did so.
The place is very quaint. I love their use of antique dishes- every place setting is unique. The service was very good and the food was tasty. I think the portions were on the small side for the dollars spent, but overall, it was a good experience.
This restaurant is entirely focused on the quality of the food- and for good reason. I have yet to have something here that was disappointing. I'll definitely be back.
Great atmosphere, great food. One of the best culinary experiences I've had in Columbus. I've been on multiple occasions, and the food quality is consistent. Would recommend.
Helpful staff, creative and healthy entrees. Fresh casual ambiance. Perfect evening.
Great place. Great food and aesthetic.
Easy reservation system
This was our Mother’s Day date night. It was great! Will definitely go back!
I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The food was very, very good, but the service was slow and lackluster. My main issue, however, was with the quality and quantity of their cocktails.
My boyfriend ordered his favorite cocktail- a simple gin gimlet on the rocks. The waiter arrived with a smaller-than-usual cocktail glass that was barely 3/4 full. We were underwhelmed by the quantity and taste, but enjoyed the cocktail anyway. On the second round, however, the glass arrived less than half-full (barely enough to cover the ice). We called it out immediately and asked the waiter to bring us the rest of the cocktail. He took it back and said he’d have the bartender remake it, returning less than 30 seconds later with the same glass only with more ice added. Did they think we were stupid? Needless to say, we did not order any more cocktails after this.
This restaurant has way too much competition in the Short North to skimp on its customers’ experience like this. We moved down the street to Service Bar afterward where we got better-quality cocktails that were actually filled to the top. For this reason I would not recommend The Table. I am always happy to pay top dollar for quality food and drink, but unfortunately The Table did not deliver.
Wonderful, small restaurant, great for sharing small plates great wine selection
Our waiter was very inattentive and did not introduce himself. The restaurant was not particularly busy but it took an incredibly long time to get drinks appetizers and meals. This was for my friend’s birthday dinner and we were very underwhelmed. They ran out of two dishes, the octopus was over cooked and quite chewy.
We understand you could have chosen a million other restaurants in Columbus to celebrate. Our humble apologies the Octopus was not prepared well. I will be sure our Chef's are more attentive!!! We make all of our dishes from scratch with produce from local farmers. The bonus, our ingredients are super fresh. Downside, our farmers are closed until Monday, so after a very busy weekend we can run out of ingredients for dishes. Believe we wish I could predict business , hope you give us a 2nd try!!
Wonderful! Great cool vibe. Food was great and drinks we're fantastic.
The food was wonderfully prepared. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Sang and trey, thank you. It was a fantastic experience with you two.
There is always great variety and creativity on the menu. I love the focus on local sourcing, vegetables, and gluten free options. But the food doesn't always hit it - some dishes taste fresh and fantastic while others are only okay. Servers are lovely, but seating can be uncomfortable depending on what table and chairs you get.
