I usually love the Table. The service was awful the last two times. Last time we recite the wrong order and the most recent time we waited an hour had to go up and ask and had to beg for service though it wasn’t busy. The food was lukewarm and then we never saw our server unless we asked. The dessert was day old and stale. Sad.
Food was excellent. Decor was unique. I typically like a restaurant that is busy and a bit noisy but it was a little too loud.
Love this place! :) We've started going to The Table regularly before heading to a theatre where we have season tickets. The food is always amazing and fresh, service is fantastic, and the cocktail menu is great.
Anything with "short rib" in the description is a must-have at The Table!
Loved the food, amazing bottle of wine. Wonderful ambiance!
Food was excellent, service was good and not intrusive. The noise level was deafening when the dining room was filled, and there was a cool breeze at floor level that made us want a blanket for our feet. Parking is a challenge but we were told after our arrival that there were a few designated spaces at the rear of the building.
Interesting menu - enjoyed the dishes- tried the pork belly- nice flavor but tougher than I thought it should be.
The Table is my favorite spot in the Short North! My family was visiting this past weekend and it was a no brainer to take them there since their menu is as local as you can get and is creative to meet the foodie demand while keeping a familiar vibe for my parents that do not like to venture far from traditional. It was bustling for Sunday brunch but their staff accommodated us quickly and attentively. We sat at the bar while the reservation before us finished. My dad loved the local roaster they source their coffee from. It is slow, from scratch cuisine. Come prepared to enjoy the ambiance and soak in the vibes from their open kitchen. The wait is so worth it! The dishes were beautiful and the drinks were generous. My parents had French toast and loved the house made cinnamon swirl bread and seasonal compote. I had the burger with house made tomato jam...the best burger I’ve had in Columbus. And my partner had the Mac and cheese loaded with chorizo, mushrooms and topped with an egg. Thank you for the wonderful experience! It was wonderful to show my family the very best Columbus has to offer! My mother literally could not stop raving about the tea cups...she said they reminded them of her grandmother’s and brought back wonderful memories.
Great service: friendly without being too much or intrusive. Great food; interesting menu from starters through dessert. First time there but we will be back.
The food was original and very good. I think the host was trying to seat us as best he could for our 7:30 reservations. However, that table was occupied for over two hours by a group not ready to leave.
The host tried and seated downstairs as our group of six where we were alone And lacked ambiance and slow service.
As a first timer with out of town guests, I’d still go back because of the food. Be prepared to wait on a weekend even with reservations. I guess we avoided the noise. “Kudos to the host for trying to do the best under the circumstances.
Took friends for their first visit. One is a vegetarian and for once she had trouble deciding what to have, as there were so many options. Nice problem for her to have! All of us enjoyed our meals, as always, and the service was good, despite only one waitress and a table of 10 in addition to our table and a few others. While it sounds picky, we were disappointed in the bread basket. First time we got it, admittedly a few years ago, it had all kinds of rolls and small loaves - a treasure of choices! Now it is just sliced cold bread. Tasted okay but not what we had hoped for. Of course, that was the only thing that wasn’t great! We’ll definitely be back
Delicious, friendly, and a different change of pace!
The best sandwich I’ve ever had! (The Calabrian Egg Sandwich) Loved the ambiance and service was amazing.
They need a few large fans on that patio area outside. It was too hot with no breeze and the service was slow.
Eclectic menu with veggie and vegan options
Great service by Theo. The Creative Kudos bowl & Tandoori chicken were excellent! Want to go back for brunch!
We've eaten at The Table on a number of occasions and it's always been great. Our dinner Saturday night was incredible and as is generally the case, mostly locally sourced ingredients.
For cocktails, my wife started with the Blood Orange Cosmo and I had The Table's Margarita; both were excellent.
For starters we shared a Solo Charcuterie plate with Chicken Liver Mousse and Duck Confit Prosciutto as our meat choices and a Blue Cheese for our cheese choice. Again, all were excellent.
We then had the Beets & Burrata with Pistachio, Pine Nuts and a caramelized Orange Marmalade. The combination was inspired, with a tantalizing mix of textures and flavors.
And for the main dish we shared the Shrimp and Gouda Cheese Grits. The grits were perfect, and the presentation was both beautiful and functional. Served in a bowl, the shrimp and grits were floated on a white wine butter broth with diced bell pepper, tomato, vegetables & chorizo.
Our server Rachel was delightful, knowledgeable and engaging.
All-in-all this was a wonderful dining experience.
We look forward to dining there again soon, and we unhesitatingly recommend it visitors and locals alike.
The only conversation we had while at The Table was about the food - that’s how good it was. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very passionate about the menu items, and the relaxed setting was perfect. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a large plant poking me when I first sat down, but easily moved out of the way - not at all something to complain about.
Loved the staff and atmosphere . I admit I wasn't to crazy about my main entree the sauce wasn't good pretty off balance from the octopus and chorizo dish. The octopus and chorizo tasted great but sauce was just not undesirable. Also I want to happy with the lack of selection of custom cocktails. I truly do enjoy a nice creative cocktail I just feel more variety would be better .
Sunday brunch was delicious. Noise level at 2pm was loud but tolerable. Servers were lovely. Food was interesting and wonderful.
This was my second visit to The Table. I like the eclectic and sophisticated menu. Sang, who waited on us was very hospitable and provided A+ service.
It was a beautiful Summer night so we ate in the breezeway. The restaurant was not busy at all for a Saturday night. The servers were very attentive. As has been the case whenever we've eaten here, the food comes out slowly due to the kitchen size. But the execution of the food was excellent. My guess is that with the competition in the Short North the prices are keeping people away, as they are on the higher end. But we've never been disappointed here.
Great place to try new flavor profiled, good wines and an attentive staff. Noise volume was conducive to conversation. We will be back.
Cured meats cheeses great. I got pad thai, its just zucchini spirals with some peppers, nothing specail at all. Which suprised me i guess i just expected better. The drinks were ok again expected a bit more. The lacked flavor very netural.
Overall i was disappointed. But a friend got the octopus and he loved it.
Again meats and cheeses to me where the way to go!
Hi Tracie, Sorry to hear you did not enjoy our Pad Thai. We use produce sourced from local farmers with our twist on global comfort foods. Our Pad Thai is definitely not a traditional presentation but is a Summer favorite of many of our guest. Not every dish is for every guest. We do hope you give us another try!! -Jen
They had an excellent and varied menu! The meals were so good that we sampled each others entrees.
We sat on the breezeway / patio and the weather was perfect, the food was excellent, and we couldn't have had a better experience.
Delicious, most locally sourced, rustic charming environment. Great service! Composting soon?
Food was creative. Bill adds up quickly. Space could use a makeover (nicely put).
Excellent food - desserts could have been a bit better (utilizing more of fresh seasonal ingredients - cake was a bit too hard/frozen). I do wish that for the clientele they are attracting they did a bit more in terms of cloth napkins etc - paper napkins seem a bit too cheap in contrast to the pricing/atmosphere.
Great variety for vegetarians which is very rare in Columbus so that is a huge plus.
Wine bottle prices are a tad steep - some less expensive options would be appreciated.
Great place- great food
Food is exceptionally good!
Had a bad-good experience with a Columbus restaurant called The Table. This is a restaurant using locally-sourced food that we've been to once before.
On today's visit, I ordered the steak and egg sandwich. The first sign of trouble was when the waiter returned to say that the menu was misprinted. The sandwich would not be $10, but would be $16. That struck me as too much, but given the reputation of the restaurant, and our previous good experience, I decided to splurge. I figured this must be the greatest steak and egg sandwich ever.
Alas, it was not. The "steak" was an inedible piece of shoe leather, flavorless and shot through with gristle. It was so tough, I could barely cut it. Really appallingly bad. So much so that I almost laughed out loud that a respectable restaurant would serve such bad food and ask $16 for it. Especially considering that you get a better piece of steak in a McDonald's Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel that sells for $5.19.
The waiter noticed that I had stopped eating and had left most of the steak at the side of the plate and asked about it. I politely told him it was inedible. He took it away and discussed it with the owner of the restaurant. The good news is, I wasn't charged for the meal.
Unique Restaurant and Menu Choices
Had the Charcuterie for 2 and Split the Short Ribs ... Charcuterie per my date was awesome, I didn't care for some of the strong flavors. Short Ribs were awesome.
Wonderful casual ambiance.
Restaurant was busy, bar area wasn't ... which tells me it's possible to pop in for a drink and/or dinner spur of the moment.
Food was not good. Never had a worse Caesar salad. Far too expensive for what we got. We will never return. We are not opposed to paying 50 to 75 per person, but expect to get whet we pay for.
The Table needs to have a milk substitute; cream, coconut milk etc... for coffee.
I’ve been to the table before and it was fabulous. We went as a table of nine and everything that could go wrong did. Service delayed and continuously did not show up. The drinks were warm or not served until 30 minutes later. The food was 1 hour later and mediocre. I was entirely disappointed because the ambiance and concept is gold. I don’t think I will ever go back nor recommend.
Great farm to table concept, homey and with reasonable portion sizing. Loved it!
Excellent food and service! The food was casual fine dining at it's best. All of the food ordered by my party was excellent and fresh.
Wonderful food and an all-together great experience
Father 's day Brunch
The menu sounded good. We all found something that we thought we would like. I was disappointed that, being a brunch-and seeing breakfast pastries on the menu-that the only offering was bread pudding! Sorry, bread pudding is not a pastry. Our server did say they were out of turnovers-if you're serving brunch, have enough turnovers (especially if that's the only offering) to last through brunch service!! We did order-and then sat there for 40 minutes waiting for our food. What took so long? I have absolutely no idea. Our server finally noticed we didn't have any food and stepped around the counter to find out what was going on. Never any explanation but someone screwed up somewhere. When we finally did get our food, everyone was very disappointed in the quality of the preparation. My husband had Shrimp and Grits and he said the grits were not cooked properly and they were liquidy. There was also an overcooked egg on top he had not asked for. My son said his hamburger was awful-way overcooked (he had requested medium when asked how he wanted it). My daughter ordered the Shakshuka and said it was pretty bad, egg cooked improperly and just not flavorful. Mine was probably the best in what was a dismal Father's day celebration--mediocre Mac and cheese. All in all, the meal was not good at all, and having to wait so long for poorly prepared food was just adding insult to injury. I do not recommend this place. The menu far exceeded their capability of putting out a good meal.
Lunch for Father’s Day was great! My parents are vegetarian and they had several options. The Indian inspired dishes like the Akouri were flavorful with a afterhit of heat. The salad was tasty, fresh and lightly dressed. The shashuka (tomato stew) with poached eggs was delicious and served with homemade pita bread.
