Wonderful relaxing dinner.
My wife and I have had dinner here 3 nights. Tried almost everything on the menu.
A+ Food, Service and atmosphere.
Steaks were over done and the steaks were supposed to come with Dutchess potatoes but was served with mashed. I’m on the fence about a recommendation for them.
We sat outside and had an excellent dinner. It was a lovely evening.
Friends and I were in town on vacation, went to The Table on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The staff were great, the atmosphere was exceptional, the food was amazing. The staff recommended local activities to keep us busy throughout the weekend as well. Great place and I would go out of my way to come to Edenton, NC to eat here again!
I ordered the scallops and the risotto came out cold. For $30 you only got four scallops on a bed of tomato risotto. The dish was not rounded out and I had to send it back twice. They remade the risotto and it still came out cold again. I was extremely upset because it was our anniversary and we literally had to leave and go to a pub because at that point that was the only thing open after leaving. The owner did come over and talk to us and was nice but it still ruined the evening. She stated they were having a gas problem so that could affect the food not coming out hot. If you knew your restaurant was experiencing issues and it was not up to expectations the best thing to do is to close for the evening and fix the problem.
Really enjoyed my visit, great place to have dinner with friends and family.everything was superb with food and service.
We enjoyed laughing at the desert after seeing a picture of a large chocolate moose on web and ordered what we thought was large enough for 4 and got a very small serving with 4 small petet spoons.FUNNY
Lovely location and good menu which is frequently updated. Very pretty setting with inside and outside dining. Service was cordial and knowledgeable but with so few diners food seemed to come out of the kitchen at a very slow place. Not a huge deal but if we are taking our time over dinner I would have hoped our server would have been more attentive to our beverages. Entree portions seemed small for the price paid. Nevertheless overall a good experience and we'll be back!
We were travelling home and stopped in Edenton for dinner. It was Sunday, so few options, but we were pleasantly surprised to see the top restaurant in Edenton open so we made 5:30 reservations.
We were promptly seated. Our server was nice. Tables are spaced closer than we are used to, but servers were wearing masks. There was a weird vibe...it's a small space, quiet, and all the tables were a bit on top of each other so you had to talk quietly to not feel like you were talking to the whole room. Also, there was no enforcement of masks by people coming into the restaurant...another couple came in without masks and were seated at the table closest to us (despite other tables available). Once they sat down, they did ask if it was OK but they were already seated.
The menu options were limited but understandable given the size and being Sunday night. We ordered the crabcake appetizer, the Chicken Piccata, another crabcake appetizer and the watermelon/feta salad, and my son and I both ordered the Bruschetta burger, but his just burger and cheese (no tomato bruschetta)
Shortly thereafter, the server told us that they only had three burgers to start the night and had already served two so there was only one left (they had just opened!) So I got the burger, and they made mac/cheese and chicken tenders for my son.
My wife's piccata was dry, my daughter's watermelon salad had a strong vinegar taste that overwhelmed it, and my burger did not have any bruschetta...after I was halfway through I realized they had brought the burger my son ordered not mine. Also, the "spiral potatoes" are french fries. That being said, the crabcakes were amazing and the best part of the meal. My burger was good but was not the correct item. Also, two other tables (2 tops) came in after us, received their food and were done dining before our food came.
Not sure if it was an off night, but it didn't live up to the reviews for us, and we wish we'd saved the money and just drove home
Excellent experience, live local and go frequently.
Thank you so much for a this wonderful review! We greatly appreciate it and we are very pleased to hear that you had a fantastic stay with us! We hope to see you again soon!
We loved it there. From reservations to departure.... they were great (helpful, polite, kind, and professional.). I think we've found another vacation spot (not Edenton... I was born and raised in Edenton...) the Inner Banks Inn is our spot. I think we'll work our way through each room over the next couple of years. I forgot my suit and we were miles away when they called me, but they held it in the office until I came back for it.
I'll be recommending the Inner Banks Inn to all my friends. Breakfast was incredible.
Thank you so much for the great review! We really love hearing all about our guests experience! We hope to see you again soon!
We made a reservation at The Table for our 5th anniversary. We’ve eaten all over the United States, and the meal was superb. My husband, who is from Kansas City, said his filet mignon was among the best steaks he has ever eaten. My shrimp and pasta dinner was so good that if I had been hungrier, I would have ordered another one! The ambiance, our wonderful server Brandi, and the excellent food exemplifies the best NC offers. We look forward to our next seating at The Table.
Thank you so much for the great review! We really hope to see you again soon!
Wonderful food. Excellent service.
We have visited this restaurant a number of times and this was the first time we at outside. Very nice.
Dinner at The Table was a lovely experience. We ate there twice for dinner, plus breakfasts two mornings, and the food was extremely good each time. The tomato-spinach quiche was the best quiche I've ever had: light but smooth, creamy and flavorful, with a perfectly flaky crust, and the scallops I had for dinner were indeed large, tender and buttery. Service was efficient and knowledgeable (and very pleasant). I suppose I should not wish that the entrees were not quite so expensive, but one can dream, right?
Wonderful! Such a relaxing dinner. Food was delicious. Presentation excellent.
The food was ok, definitely not 5 star. For a $325 meal, the food was not that good. The food came out cold.
Servers were horrible
Terrific menu though not overwhelming. There were a lot of item we wanted to try. Our party of four presented the restaurant with some dietary challenges with one member of our party on a Keto diet and two others with gluten sensitives. Our party started with stuffed mushrooms, prosciutto wrapped shrimp. I had French Onion soup and the ladies shared an apple walnut salad. For entrees, the ladies shared the scallop entree and both the men in the party had filets, one without the mushrooms. The food and service were both excellent and the stuffed mushrooms were the best ever. For desert we had the flourless chocolate cake, key lime pie and raspberry cheesecake. We’ll definitely be back as it was a wonderful evening.
This was our second visit...and we will return! Fabulous New Year’s Eve dinner...great wine, desert, steak. Highly recommend.
All the food was excellent, but we absolutely loved the homemade pumpkin cheesecake!
The food was delicious. They were changing some wines, so many that were on the wine list were not available. My creme brulee was not cooked enough, very runny.
Great romantic weekend escape with my wife. Great diner, beautiful room at the Inn and all on "campus"!
We love being pampered. We felt very welcomed and the food was very good. Service was prompt and professional.
The service at both dinner and breakfast was warm, inviting and wonderful. The food was outstanding and the pup friendly patio was beautiful. Can't wait to return and enjoy it again!
As usual everything was excellent executive chef came out and we had a very good discussion it is our go to place for special occasions and for quality dining
Pleasant dining experience for out of towners!
Crab cakes were salty and not very good
Fine dining with an unpretentious ambiance. Food preperation and presentation were impeccable! I've eaten my share of scallops, but I'd have to say this entree may even top the digby scallops in Nova Scotia. Chef John is amazing. Thanks for an incredible dining experience.
Wonderful food - quaint atmosphere. We definitely intend to visit again
Food was awesome! Service was not. Steak was one of the best we’ve had. Waitress wanted us to order our food when we ordered our drinks because a “big” party was coming in... we were a table of 8 they were 10.
Nice visit, well treated, thanks again. Look forward to trying Sunday Brunch. Good staff and room was very comfortable. Food was well prepared.
Wonderful evening. Food was outstanding. Eye pleasing presentation
It is our go to place when going out to dine
The food was good, nothing spectacular and was overpriced. The service was good, not excellent but in all fairness to the waitress, she was the only one serving that evening. She was not very knowledgeable about the entrees being served. The restaurant is okay but certainly not a place for a romantic dinner, the tables are close together and the noise carries.
A bit disappointing. The service was so slow and not up to the standards you would expect from this type of restaurant. The food was good, but not outstanding and certainly not gourmet.
Dinner was very good and based on local markets. Did I make a reservation. Quality of food and service was very good. Able to eat inside or outside on the patio.
We were slightly disappointed after hearing such good comments from others who had eaten there.
The setting is charming and initial atmosphere was pleasant. It soon became apparent the the wait staff was under stress. We soon discovered that one of our selected entries was unavailable and that our first choice wine was out of stock. The food arrived within a reasonable time and it was good. However, based on the cost of the entrees verses the quality and presentation of the dishes, we were somewhat underwhelmed. Although we had a satisfactory meal, we will not be returning in the future. For the prices charges, we give it a 3-star rating.
Excellent experience every time we visit.
As much as it pains me to write negative comments I honestly was a little disappointed with my overall experience... I had heard great things so of course my expectations were high! The restaurant is in a beautiful old building and the young man that greeted us was very personable. Warm rolls and herb butter were delicious ,our entrees were good but not great. I think the dessert menu was a little underwhelming ...ice cream ,sorbet and chocolate torte...however the flourless torte was much to my surprise quite delicious.
Unfortunately what really made the experience negative was our server. She didn’t introduce herself, did not crack a smile even once ,did not mention specials, and honestly was borderline rude... I know everyone is entitled to a bad day but it wasn’t busy at all and we were not a demanding group... I expect more from this caliber of restaurant.
I would still recommend the restaurant though in the hopes that it was just an off night!
Amazing food! A MUST if you are visiting Edenton. We started with the shrimp cocktail and seasonal salads - so fresh and so delicious. I probably could have stopped there...but we both had their crab cakes as our entree - I’d say by far the best Crab cakes I ever had! Very little filler - perfectly served over “warm potato salad” which was not at all what I thought - these potatoes were creamy, rich and like the texture of risotto - great flavor! Brocollini was perfect and to top it off... I’m even gonna rave about the dinner rolls and herbed butter - best on the planet! Overall the food in Edenton is wonderful- but this place is a treasure!!!
Was looking for a romantic dinner location and this fell short. The ding area is open with no privacy, or ambiance. When I made reservation I asked for a more private table and they seated us right inside the front door in the middle of the Room. Food was decent but nothing to rave about. Service was mediocre at best, waitress was abrupt and not friendly.
