The food was good, nothing spectacular and was overpriced. The service was good, not excellent but in all fairness to the waitress, she was the only one serving that evening. She was not very knowledgeable about the entrees being served. The restaurant is okay but certainly not a place for a romantic dinner, the tables are close together and the noise carries.
A bit disappointing. The service was so slow and not up to the standards you would expect from this type of restaurant. The food was good, but not outstanding and certainly not gourmet.
Dinner was very good and based on local markets. Did I make a reservation. Quality of food and service was very good. Able to eat inside or outside on the patio.
We were slightly disappointed after hearing such good comments from others who had eaten there.
The setting is charming and initial atmosphere was pleasant. It soon became apparent the the wait staff was under stress. We soon discovered that one of our selected entries was unavailable and that our first choice wine was out of stock. The food arrived within a reasonable time and it was good. However, based on the cost of the entrees verses the quality and presentation of the dishes, we were somewhat underwhelmed. Although we had a satisfactory meal, we will not be returning in the future. For the prices charges, we give it a 3-star rating.
Excellent experience every time we visit.
As much as it pains me to write negative comments I honestly was a little disappointed with my overall experience... I had heard great things so of course my expectations were high! The restaurant is in a beautiful old building and the young man that greeted us was very personable. Warm rolls and herb butter were delicious ,our entrees were good but not great. I think the dessert menu was a little underwhelming ...ice cream ,sorbet and chocolate torte...however the flourless torte was much to my surprise quite delicious.
Unfortunately what really made the experience negative was our server. She didn’t introduce herself, did not crack a smile even once ,did not mention specials, and honestly was borderline rude... I know everyone is entitled to a bad day but it wasn’t busy at all and we were not a demanding group... I expect more from this caliber of restaurant.
I would still recommend the restaurant though in the hopes that it was just an off night!
Amazing food! A MUST if you are visiting Edenton. We started with the shrimp cocktail and seasonal salads - so fresh and so delicious. I probably could have stopped there...but we both had their crab cakes as our entree - I’d say by far the best Crab cakes I ever had! Very little filler - perfectly served over “warm potato salad” which was not at all what I thought - these potatoes were creamy, rich and like the texture of risotto - great flavor! Brocollini was perfect and to top it off... I’m even gonna rave about the dinner rolls and herbed butter - best on the planet! Overall the food in Edenton is wonderful- but this place is a treasure!!!
Was looking for a romantic dinner location and this fell short. The ding area is open with no privacy, or ambiance. When I made reservation I asked for a more private table and they seated us right inside the front door in the middle of the Room. Food was decent but nothing to rave about. Service was mediocre at best, waitress was abrupt and not friendly.
I called to confirm there was wheelchair access...and told there was. Upon arrival there was no designated handicap parking and I had to unload my wife in the parking lot, park the car and return to wheel her to the restaurant. The access is through the side of the building, over broken steeping stones, uneven ground, no lighting and up an old, dirty wooden ramp next to the trash. I wheeled her into the side door, past the restrooms and kitchen then into the dining room. Thankfully there were no guests present as it was a very difficult way to for my wife to arrive in the dining room of an establishment of this calibre. Certainly it is possible to clean up the wheel chair access to allow a more dignified way to enter the dining room at The Table.
It was a beautiful spring evening to dine outside. The courtyard area very inviting. Excellent service
from wait staff. Our waiter was from Wake Forest NC too! Always find it is a small world on our travels. Food and drinks were well prepared. Small choice menu, but great for the setting.
Bike ride weekend
Excellent food and service! Welcome cyclists for Cycle NC - my son ate here on his honeymoon and it was a great idea!
This is a quaint, small place that is worth a try. There is no bar, but they will serve you a drink out on the patio if you prefer to have a cocktail away from your dining table. For the meal, the winter salad was really good with a great house dressing which was a sort of sweet and sour vinaigrette. I ordered the moroccon filet. It was cooked perfectly rare as requested, but the dry rub was really tasteless. And this left the filet to be fairly tasteless. My wife ordered a seafood dish, on the menu as trout, but snapper was substituted that night. She really enjoyed hers. I got to eat her grilled asparagus which was great also. Overall, I thought this place was great to try once, but it was too expensive for the quality I felt. We probably would not return.
A quiet, quaint gem in Historic Edenton with excellent food and service. Very intimate setting, limited seating, and small menu. The perfect place to enjoy a special meal.
Dinner here was a fabulous experience! It's probably best for a date night, but my Mom and I were visiting and decided to try it. It is intimate and lovely, with a very relaxed feel. The meal was excellent! I highly recommend!
The food, atmosphere, service and location were all great. I was hoping for more dessert options, however, overall experience was great.
The venue is stunning with a gorgeous open garden and grounds, perfect for small weddings. However, there was no music in the very quiet dining room which led to a somewhat sepulchral atmosphere and our server seemed to be distracted by our presence, and suggested that our original 7:30 reservation would have been inconvenient. Furthermore, while our meal was flavorful, technique was not up to the 32 dollar entree price, with our duck breast so tough and overcooked, it was difficult to cut with a steak knife. This place has so much potential with the gorgeous location, but needs to step up the service professionalism and food execution if they want to charge 50+ per person for drinks and a meal.
The food was outstanding. Everything we had was creative and hyper-fresh. I wasn't expecting much from the bread service, but oh wow was I wrong on that! Best I've had in years! We shared two small plates: bacon wrapped brussel sprouts and tuna tartare. Presentation was good on the sprouts and beautiful on the tuna. My husband had rainbow trout and asparagus. I had smoked duck breast with pureed parsnips and sauteed rainbow chard. We both wanted to lick our plates! For dessert we shared a perfect mixed berry sorbet. The wine list was not large, but was solid.
The only slightly off note was that there was only one server who was helped by a manager. The server started us out just right, but she became overwhelmed as more tables were seated. It wasn't enough to put us off though. We'll definitely be back!
This restaurant is a gem. I had several options from their small plate menu and everything was delightful. The bread service started things right with a house-spread creation that I’ve never had before but rate as an absolute 5/5 that could compete ANYWHERE. Then I tried the bacon-wrapped Brussel sprouts (5/5), the steak-wrapped shrimp (4.8/5), the shrimp cocktail with house made cocktail sauce (6/5!!!), and the shepherd’s pie (4.5/5). The shepherd’s pie needed a little salt and pepper to take it to 5/5 status,
Our server was a little bland, she wasn’t very personable. Food and cocktails were amazing! Would definitely go there again!
As usual our meal was excellent, This is our favorite place to eat in the edenton area
This was our second time the food was excellent. After dinner we did a carriage ride provided by the restaurant, which was a very nice touch to a very nice Valentine’s Day
Food was fabulous! However, be prepared to pay a premium for the great food. Their Valentines Day pricing was higher than what their regular menu showed. That said, I am still glad I brought my sweetheart there for a fabulous meal and great experience.
Great Service and excellent food. Nice quiet dining.
We were the only reservation for that evening. Very good meal and service. A bit pricey. A bit spooky.
On Monday we were the only ones dining at the time we were there the service was excellent and the food was excellent wine pairing it was excellent will definitely go back it’s one of our favorite restaurants in Edenton
The Table never disappoints. It is our “go to” for special occasions. I have not had a meal I didn’t love. The service is reliably good as well. I especially like that they feature local and seasonal fare.
Everything about the experience was 5-star. From being greeted after walking in the door, to the table service, to the food, to our exit, it was a dining experience like no other. We WILL be back!
This was a wonderful experience, from the time we walked up to the door. We were greeted most graciously and escorted to our table. The service was absolutely wonderful. And, the food was most delicious! Quite a wonderful evening. Hope to return some day
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary. I had the filet which was from a local merchant and it melted in my mouth. Husband had the lamb and that was equally as delicious!
Loved everything about this restaurant -- great food, great service and we could hear each other talk because it was quiet! We liked it so much that we went back for dinner the next night. We will return the next time we are in Denton!
Found this spot online while making a quick visit to town. It was very enjoyable. They were able to accommodate my vegetarian requests which I appreciated. My friend had the scallops and really enjoyed them. The service was excellent.
Nice Thanksgiving meal, but temperature wasn’t hot enough for me and I thought a little pricey for a turkey entree. Best part of meal was seafood chowder starter and dessert.
We are always pleased with the food at The Table. Our dinner was made even more enjoyable by our server Taylor. He was professional yet very welcoming and delightful. The live music was soft and mellow which complimented the dining experience.
This is our second time visiting the restaurant (first time being in May and our experience was exceptionally wonderful!) Like last time, we sat outside because the ambience is very peaceful and relaxing. Overall, we were disappointed with this go-round. My mom and I wanted martinis with tito's vodka and the waitress had told us that they (owners) did not go to the liquor store that day so they were out. Secondly, we were so hoping for the charcuterie appetizer and were told that they no longer serve it, so we settled for fried green tomatoes. Other options were fried oysters or a salad; also bummed with the lack of options available. Our entree of scallops were absolutely amazing as always; however during our last experience we were served 4 scallops on a bed of risotto with creamed spinach (ahhh-mazing), and this time we had 3 scallops with a small amount of assorted veggies. When asking our waitress for dessert options, given that we were still hungry, we had two simplistic options, unlike our first experience when we had been offered an array of desserts and chose the wonderful creme brulee! Needless to say, this experience was so far off from our first and may hinder whether we ever come back.
Overall an average experience. Food and service were good, but a bit overpriced and the menu was very limited. Too much distraction with the waiters go in and out of the dining room serving patrons sitting outside on the porch. Most likely would not return to this venue.
Our review would have been better but they were out of a selection of wines and 2 of the main entrees. Knowing the entrees were gone this should have been explained up front before we ordered not afterwards. Yes, they apologized but not enough. We also had guests from out of state and we had given great reviews and their expectations were not met.
We enjoyed our dinners (and breakfasts) at The Table at Inner Banks. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable! Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious! The staff is very accommodating if you wish to make a change on the dish you are ordering. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and I am looking forward to eating there again when we get up the Edenton way.
We loved everything about The Table - wonderful food, great service and nice ambiance. We had seafood - both dishes were well prepared with innovative sauces and great flavor profiles! Will definitely return when we’re in the area!
The relaxed ambiance of The Table at the Inner Banks, along with the outstanding personable service, provided by Brandy, Taylor, Casey, and Tessa, wonderfully supplemented the incredible food that was prepared for us. Which, by the way, was amazing! Everything harmoniously blended together for a completely perfect dining experience.
