Service was great - all of the staff was very friendly! Food was either over-cooked and tough (meat) or underdone and hard (grilled veggies). Prices were extremely high for quality of food. Basically a coffee shop with steakhouse prices. Too bad because it is a lovely location.

The food was terrible. From the omelette station overcooking the eggs to the chafer dishes full of food without much flavor to the fruit display with warm, wilty fruits. This was a Mother’s Day brunch but felt like any old brunch at double the price. They ran out of high chairs for babies and ran out of umbrellas so we had to sit under the hot sun without shade. Even the waitress said our plates were almost too hot to touch from just sitting on our table. We had to ask for water and coffee multiple times and at $200 for 2 people, we would have been much happier anywhere else. I’d suggest a flower for the moms or a picture for families, anything to make it more special and make up for the subpar food. Employees were wonderful though.

Sunday brunch is outstanding, omelette and waffle option is the best meal and deal. If you're a member, you can sit out on the patio by the golf course, which brings the experience to a new level. But even the dining room and bar are quite nice.

Breakfast and brunch were great. Some of us ordered Sunday “brunch” aka the waffle and omelette bar. Some ordered off the menu. All good but honestly, the waffle SYRUP needs an upgrade for sure! The servers were very friendly and attentive except for when it came to the heaters on the patio. More staff members need to know how to operate them and need to know which are operable and which are not. From start to finish, we tried to get someone to start a heater…that worked! Other than that, the food was decent and it was not crowded, but quite peaceful and beautiful.

Took my 98-y-old mom there to celebrate her birthday. It was a delightful experience. The ambience is lovely: quiet, tables nicely spaced, and fireplace roaring. The food was okay...would love more vegetarian options.

Having been here many times before, although it had been a while, we were expecting good service and excellent meal. The menu was the same as during the pandemic with very limited choices and no specials. After waiting a long time for our waiter to take our food order after receiving our drinks, finally flagged down a waitress to take the orders. Our appetizer arrived on one minute before our main meals. The lobster with the lobster ravioli was very mushy. Once again had to wait a long time to receive our check. Waitress thought our waiter may have been very busy but there was hardly anyone there besides a wedding party in a separate area. First time I ever remember there being a valet but assume that was because of the wedding. That added additional cost. Not a pleasant visit.

This is not my first time at the Sycamore. The service was great as usual but the food was not. My husband ordered a cup of the clam choWder and what came out was a cold congealed glob. We sent it back. Our breakfast came out and it was cold. We sent the potatoes back and got hot ones. I don’t know what was going on perhaps it’s shortage of staff in the kitchen but it was really embarrassing because I hyped up this place with my friends that drove from Long Beach to meet us. Not sure I want to go back. The setting is beautiful yes there were country club members with their small children by the pool the noise level wasn’t too bad.

It is never a disappointing dining experience at Sycamore. Too bad the whole Branzino that was so good we had on our last visit was not available and the Pecsn crusted trout fillet was over cooked and dried , the pork chop is tender as usual but more on the dry side on this occasion. Wish the Lamb rack / shank will be back in menu in the future. Sycamore is an extraordinary dining gem for the La Canada residents. The homey comfort , low noise level , friendly service n food in general r good to make it an ideal dining for celebration n entertaining guest !
