This was our 3rd time eating here. The menu this time was different. There were fewer choices, and no lighter meals such as sandwiches or pizza this time, where as those options were available before. However, the meals were very good. The cookie dessert a la mode was available again, and was as good as before. Service was just right. a bit pricey, but food and service were very good, and we like the outdoor environment.
Food was yummy, bartender/ waitress was friendly and super nice. The hostess could use some training not friendly, sat us on a dirty table when I mentioned it was dirty she got a sopping wet towel to clean leaving table super wet did not appreciate it she needs a smile on her face
We sat down and waiting for over 30 minutes to get our order taken. However, no one came. So we left due to the lack of responsiveness and service.
Dining at Chevy Chase Country Club is always a treat. The staff is friendly and the ambiance - especially on the terrace is lovely - a nice retreat away from the City! A quick drive into the Canyon and you feel like you are miles away!
Brunch/lunch is good- skip for dinner as the menu is overpriced for the quality of food.
A retreat and treat in LA.
Service and quality of food was excellent. They seem to enjoy their work and care about their customers with great service and first rate country club food. Plenty of outdoor dining and spacing between tables.
New restaurant and we were the only diners. Food was very good, service OK but you know the old saying that when things are solow so are you. Nothing that some more business would not cure - and the Sycamore deserves more traffic.
Nice meal in a comfortable setting. Great sweet potato fries!
Brunch here is great. Not a ton of options but what they do have is delicious. The server we had on 7/4 was EXCEPTIONAL. I highly recommend either /both benedicts
More patrons than there had been month before, but short staffed. When we arrived we were told we would have to wait for a table, which did not bother us, as we were in no hurry and were happy to sit at the bar. Were moved outside, but not at a table, where we ordered. Finally sat at a table. Food was good. Calamari appetizer was good as it had been the previous visit. Salad was good.BBQ pizza was good, but chicken was a little dry. Dessert cookie with ice cream was good. Staff were all nice and pleasant to talk to.
The soup was too salty to eat and was sent back. The seafood special also too salty. Choice of dessert poor, and I had indicated it was a birthday celebration but no notice was taken. Very young inexperienced staff. I would hesitate to recommend this place.
Our lunch was great. We stayed a long time because it was so comfortable outside with beautiful surroundings. Service was great as well
Dinner on a Saturday night featured extremely slow service and exceptionally mediocre food on a patio that overlooks the parking lot. I've heard weekend brunch is good but not sure I'd bother to come back. Do not recommend for weekend dinner.
The food was good but in some cases with our party of six what was listed on the menu was not what we received. For instance the grilled veggie sandwich didn't have eggplant and the fish 'tempura' was just battered, fried fish (with very little fish). All ok, I'd just like an honest menu. When we return, I'd try a salad. Also, our wine bottle was wiped-down with a really grungy towel that looked like it was used to clean counters. Service was good; waiters could be more informed of the menu and the club's history. We'll be back!
The Father's Day event was a complete disappointment for the high price we paid.
The valets barely spoke English.
The front desk made us wait even though it was practically empty.
We were forced to eat breakfast at 2 pm in the afternoon.
The waitress ignored us.
The meat portion was mostly fat.
The water was tap water from the faucet with a bad after taste.
The view was of the parking lot.
I ate what I could, paid almost $50 per person, left a $20 tip and left as soon as I could.
I would not recommend this place.
Horrible service. Poor quality food. Was there for Father’s Day and it definitely ruined our Father’s Day. Non sanitary while working a buffet for brunch. Waiter brought every single drink while spilling it and not even acknowledging that he spilled it. There was no bread to eat with eggs. I can go on and on. And we paid $350 for 4 people to eat a brunch that would be better at ihop.
Lovely spot. Food was good not great.
The waiter, Max, was great. The food was just ok. We have the avocado Benedict but the homemade cheese muffin was hard with no flavor. The pancakes were very dense and not fluffy. We like the location and our waiter. We will go back but made order something different.
Really enjoyed our dinner! Nice table outside overlooking the pool. Food was very tasty. Will be back!
However note - some of the servers are no longer wearing face coverings.
Service was not what I expected at a country club. There are very young people serving which I think is a wonderful opportunity for the youth but they could use some training.
Service was excellent!!! Ambiance was good. Nice to have made a reservation.
Awful food. Poor service.
Chevy Chase country club Sycamore restaurant was empty- just 2 tables taken.
Entrees arrived 50 mins later. It takes me 20 min to make this pasta primavera.
Cook didn't know how to boil pasta longer- for well done- as instructed.
Neither did the Cook know to put salt in the boiling pasta water.
Eating half cooked bland, dry on plate pasta with skimpy olive oil caused upset stomach.
I did Sycamore a favor by driving from clear across town to Glendale.
I will never return.
Very relaxing dinner, in a laid back atmosphere. Service was good. Food was good. Very few people there. Very casual and comfortable. Menu items are varied, from salads, to bowls, pizza, and more traditional entrees. I am surprised it is not more popular.
The dinner menu was a bit limited but everything our group of 4 tried was well prepared. They also have a nice selection for breakfast & lunch so a good place to eat any time of day. The service that night was a little slow but the setting was beautiful & tranquil, the drinks well prepared & the ambience low key & easy to talk. Just a good place to have an easy dinner with friends. We will definitely return!
We live on the complete opposite side of LA, basically Calabasas but OpenTable has sent us here twice when we’ve been looking last minute on that side of town and we’ve loved it both times. What a gem of a place. Wish we lived closer we’d be there all the time.
Food is delicious. Portions are large so good for sharing or taking home. Beautiful golf course setting.
Service and food were good. However the kitchen was slow and it took one hour to get our main course.
Nice staff and beautiful setting.
Amazing place to dine, everything is wonderful about this restaurant. Management and staff are on top of their game!
Food and service were great!
It was great. No complaints. The food was actually good and dinner was reasonably priced. Atmosphere outside was nice. It would be nice to be able to sit on the greens. Where the members sit. Overall, happy experience.
I think the chicken fingers are inspired by the old Houlahans restaurant ! Exact same. It made me so happy as I loved those Things!
Great place to dine outdoors overlooking the golf course! Food is good and service is excellent. Monthly menu featuring cuisine from different parts of the world is a fun option.
Nice setting, good food and good service
Very relaxing at the outdoor patio area. They were a little short handed so it took a little while to order but no big deal. The turkey club sandwich was great. Will go back again when everything start opening up.
We loved the food. However we were seated at the dirty table. Only food menus were provided, we had to ask for the drink menu. Our waitress switched with not letting us know. However the food was amazing
Great ambience, good , and service!
Another great meal and enjoyable family dinner! Wonderful service and it was nice to dine by the beautiful fireplace.
Amazing meal for my niece's birthday celebration. The service team at Chevy Chase is fantastic.
Most of our dishes were very good, with a pork dip sandwich being incredibly delicious. Drinks were really a disappointment (weak and expensive) and when we go back, I would stick to soft drinks or wine. They don't have an ample wine selection, but it is thoughtful and everyone should be able to find a varietal they like.
I did expect the place to be a little more impressive based on reviews, but it felt just like sitting on a balcony over a parking lot in somebody's yard. I am not sure what other diners find so appealing but it's simply underwhelming. Maybe it's due to covid and this is not actually where they typically seat people??
Service was very good and our server, Cat, was super.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful setting. We were very impressed with the total experience.
