   Concert at small theater across street. Made reservations week in advance. Reservations @7. Got there 6:45 they had table set aside for 4. Didn’t get our drinks until around 7:20. We ordered. At 7:55 we had to ask for our check for drinks and skip the food. They weren’t at all concerned and said fine. To best of knowledge they hadn’t started on order. Totally makes no sense because they knew this was an online reservation, set aside a table and then ignored us knowing any logical person would leave a review. Loved their food and was excited to take friends there. Ate at Applebees 11pm after show and it was great.

   Our server was very nice and attentive in the beginning. It was early…5pm and we were the only customers. The staff was in the back and were very loud, laughing, talking loud, etc…The food presentation was awful and the three pot roast meals were dry and did not look fresh . We asked for bread and they didn’t have any. My tortilla soup had soggy tortilla chips mixed in the soup and not dry and on top. The bill was over $100 and no were worth the price. Very disappointed.

   This little gem exceeded my expectations. On a cold winter's day, the atmosphere was comforting. The food was sooo very good, and plenty of healthy options (more than I had expected). ITheir homemade French Onion soup was so rich! And even a simple salad very well executed. The old building is beautiful, with original woodwork and tasteful color palette. Our server was spot-on, although it wasn't a crowded day. All of this for what I consider a very low price! I definitely plan to come back.

   Service was spotty and generally slow but she was also running up and down stairs so probably not her fault. We got a ton of food for the money. Everything tasted fabulous! Cheese curds, chicken and waffles and the shrimp basket! Our drinks were good too. Nice spot and not busy for a Saturday night!

   Our server was very sweet and attentive. We've been twice for dinner in the past month (reservations prior to shows at the Sorg). The food is quite good... it's the time it takes to actually get to eat it. Once is an "oops", twice is the routine. VERY SLOW. Very good, but very slow both times. (and last night, there were only 2 people at the bar and empty tables on a Friday, so not sure why they wouldn't be right on it). Does have one good single malt scotch at the bar (Oban). The rest are just blends. Nice place, good food, directly across from the Sorg. But the kitchen is just so SLOW.

   Sadly disappointed again! We Book pre-concert (across street) Both recent visits understaffed, long wait for service, drinks, food Gave another chance but not again This night waited 30min+ for first bevs, longer for food (over an hour) Food had to be sent back, credited as fries, rings were cold and fish was hot exterior but breading moist inside and fish mushy, undercooked Won’t go back. Res was for 6p, food arrived so late as to make us nearly miss show open. Heard others’ complaints UNDERSTAFFED Merkle’s Tavern from now on!

   The dining room was smoky. We never got our food after a 1/2 wait, and the poor waitress was so overwhelmed, she was literally running from table to table. We had to cancel our food order after 30 min, because we had concert reservations across the street at the Sorg. Very poor management.

   They seemed to be out of a lot of food options. Have been there a few times and this is the first time this has happened.

    Overall, we enjoyed the Swire Inn. We sat outside in the back so we could enjoy the live music. The food was very good... for the most part. Fresh... but some items were over seasoned (over salted fried pickles, overly sweet Brussels sprouts). While the staff were super friendly, the service was a bit chaotic, but fortunately it didn't sour our experience. We would come back in hopes that the service improves.
